I stayed for five nights. From the warm welcome on arrival to the cheerful farewell the stay was a pleasurable experience. Jim and Lorraine are wonderful hosts. Every day started with a great breakfast of fresh fruit and a cooked breakfast, with the highlight being Jim’s freshly baked bread each day. It really is a home away from home. And don’t forget it is almost beachfront!
First time in B&B, i booked it as the whole town was full. But what a delight when i arrived. Welcoming host and super CLEAN place. i was over the moon. I stayed there for just a weekend mid January 2018. Jim and Loraine where amazing and very respectful of your privacy. The breakfast also was just perfect for me. I recommend this place if you ever at the Mount :-) Thanks you Hiyam
For my first ever B&B wow very impressed . As described in other reviews these people are amazing. Lovely room downstairs with a ensuite, the sound of the ocean 🌊 was fabulous. Very clean and tidy. Jim was awesome and the breakfast fantastic with a view to match. I’ll be back for sure
I stayed here for 6 nights upon first moving to Tauranga. I needed a place to feel comfortable whilst organising a House move. Jim and Lorraine instantly made me feel welcome and readily engaged with me which made me feel at Home. The breakfast is an added bonus: unlimited food and Jim’s coffee is excellent! Thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality and highly recommend to any traveller and/ or professional person in-between a situation or just looking for some comfort.
We were two couples travelling together and looking for comfortable accommodation on the beach at Mt Maunganui and that is exactly what we found with Beachside Bed and Breakfast. Jim and Lorraine are lovely hosts who offered all the assistance and information we required. The rooms we had were presented beautifully with all the required facilities and a very comfortable bed. The guest lounge upstairs had a great view of the beach and provided a restful and spacious retreat. The beach was 1 minute walk along a path and over the low sand-hills and provided a magnificent opportunity for a morning walk pre breakfast. The breakfast offered everything you could desire from juices, cereal, toast and a full cooked meal with some lovely coffee. Off street car parking is available. The…
We stayed here on 16 January for one night. The hosts Jim and Lorraine were very welcoming and friendly making time to chat with us. Nice clean room with ensuite. There was plenty of room for guests in the guest lounge with kitchen facilities. Jim cooks the best breakfast in New Zealand - all very fresh, so much choice and expertly cooked eggs. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Mount Maunganui. I've made the effort to post a review because Jim and Lorraine made an effort and deserve one.
I had a return stay with Jim and Lorraine for eight nights to complete my month long trip of NZ. They are the absolute best hosts! The location is so great. It was the perfect place to stay put for a week to rest up after we had extensively toured both islands. The back door of the Queen Room has direct access for nearby beach access. The guest lounge upstairs has amazing views. The town center is so cute with wonderful restaurants and shops. The bus stop to go to town center is handy from the BNB. Best of all, the most wonderful beach for walking and recreation is right at the BNB. Jim makes a delicious breakfast that will fill you up until dinner. I cannot recommend this BNB enough. They helped me put the cream on top of a most fabulous trip.
Thank-you Jim & Lorraine. Working in the hospitality industry its always nice to find a special property with "hosts with the most", a magnificent room with a the most comfortable bed (I had the Rimu Room), a well appointed bathroom and peace a quiet. To top it off a wonderful cooked breakfast with a very pleasant German couple with Jim joining us and sharing travel stories, with a spectacular view of the water from the breakfast room on the top floor. Access to the beach for your early morning walk or run:-) All this at a very reasonable cost. Will certainly be sharing this experience with friends and fellow travellers.
My wife and I had not set foot in a B&B for about 20 years, when we stayed at two in separate trips with children toScotland. Visiting New Zealand we decided to try a few out, and what pleasant surprises they all were. Arriving Tauranga earlier than announced, Jim was at hand in a short while after calling him, and made us feel very, very welcome. He gave us advise on various activitieas and as this was our second night in New zealand, and suffering from a significant 12 hour timedifference from Norway, we opted for a fantastic walk around the seaside Maori Holy Mountain in the neighborhood. Before retiring (after having dined on a small overprized Pizzahut product that was brought to our room, we spent an hour or so with our hosts, chatting in the lounge. They had been to our…
Another great B&B in new Zealand. Our hosts Lorraine and Jim were perfect and provided us lots of information about the area and some good tips. Breakfasts were terrific and our room very comfortable. Thanks once again.
