Been coming here for some time now. There used to be a certain way caravans and motorhomes were supposed to park on the sites so as to have place for their awnings and cars. This seems not to be the case now. Very unorganised and messy. Anyway had a good stay. Facilities are good and clean. Only a short walk into town.

We rented one of the ensuite cabins. It was very basic, but exceptionally clean and well laid out. Despite the less than perfect weather, we had a great view of the beach. To be honest, why would you spend mega dollars when you can have this for $140! Shower was great and the bed super comfy! A brilliant deal! 👌

Location is perfect. Amenities very good but everyone crammed in - we could barely fit our Corolla in the very tight spot next to the cabin. We stayed in a “romantic cabin” - it has a mini fridge and a jug and a queen bed with a bottom sheet and 2 pillows/cases. If you want other linen i.e. top sheet and blanket $15. If you want crockery $15. If you want towels $5 each. I couldn’t believe it. The cabin near us slept 6 and had an ensuite - they had 1 towel included. The staff were lovely - not their fault, but what sort of a business model is that. So starting price $130 but really $170.

I love this campsite. The location is fantastic and ideally placed to enjoy all that Mount Maunganui has to offer. The staff at the campsite are super friendly and happy to help if and when needed and I cannot wait to visit again Thank you for a memorable holiday

Stayed in a powered caravan in a site above the beach. It had a concrete pad and ample room to park the car. Great view of the beach. Toilet and kitchen facilities were fine. Kitchen had no utensils like some other parks I have stayed in. Having to use a swipe card for toilet can be a pain as have to go back to caravan to get it.

Stayed in a Family Cabin for the weekend with my family. Cabin was infested with bugs, rubbish under bed, dirty floors & smelt bad. Not ideal with a 1 year old. The floors in the showers were dirty and also smelt pretty bad. Didn’t experience the best customer service - our car was unable to park outside of our cabin so we were told they can’t help us and we would have to find somewhere else to park outside of the campsite. Only plus is the location but it’s really overpriced. Can get an Airbnb or hotel at the same price so we won’t be back.

Great campground, good amenities but no recycle bins at the kitchen. Bins were full of everything, glass & cardboard & general rubbish. The actual recycle bins were in behind a fence not to be seen. Disappointed

As a child we stayed in on the habourside and loved it but there were no activities for kids in the 80s. You can imagine my surprise some 40 years later for their to still be no activities for children. For its price of $67 per night for a powered site which is high compared to others you are simply paying for its location on New Zealand most popular beach being on Mauao and spitting distance to the hot pools. The kitchen facilities are ok but no communal bbqs outside and only one table for people to eat at outside the kitchen. The cleaners come to clean the amenity blocks in the middle of morning rush hour and only once a day. Which means a toilet could get missed and by 4pm in the afternoon with the heat of the day they certainly develop a smell which is not great. One day we had to ring the office to get maintenance to come clean the ladies toilets cos they were feral. On checking in I said I hadn't been there in 40 years and only got told the toggle got us discounted entry into the hot pools. I guess cos I was local they thought I might know everything but other guests I spoke to weren't told anything either and there are some amazing things to do in the area. I had thought like other campgrounds I would have received a survey on checkout to my email but nothing. I am picking they dont care for good or bad feedback. …
