Greeted by owner (kiwi) of the guesthouse. Really nice. Obviously very passionate about his property. Can't fault it. 1. Great value for money. Only $99. Beats. Other places for value. 2. Bed soooo comfortable. 3. Full on showers. Not a dribble. 4. Extremely clean. 5. Shared bathroom for us; but right by the rooms. No issues what so ever. 6 great kitchen and lounge. 7. Carpet and overall facilities very clean. Would have given my eye teeth for air conditioning. But that is not a reality. Good fan provided.
this is the 4th time we have stayed here . it is close to the main street , has a nice chilled out vibe with good facilities and is a really good price. the only problem we found this time was we had booked to escape our busy lives and relax for a few days. we were put in room 10 under where the owners stay with their young kids i am not sure if they are aware but the ceiling is very thin and for all 3 mornings from 6AM through to 9AM it is just constant running / jumping / screaming from the kids and i know that sounds harsh but when you book a few days away and get woke every morning like this it is very very off putting. i will stay here again but only if we can be at the opposite end of the property. we honestly don't mind people making a bit of noise but constant jumping and thumping rite above your head from early every morning is not ideal at all…
I had a great time here. The place is sparkling clean, comfortable and excellent location! This was my last stop in NZ before heading back home overseas and I couldn’t finished my trip in the best place! Thank you 🌊🙏
Clean, comfortable and very well run I enjoyed staying here for a week. There is a supermarket about 10 minutes walk away and the Mount itself is around 30 - 40 minutes walk in the opposite direction with lots of shops, bars and restaurants along the way. Very clean kitchen with plenty of storage space and two large fridges. Plenty of showers / toilets close to each room. Ideal if you are attending a cricket match at the Bay Oval..
We stayed hear for a night in a double room, we really liked this hostel. It has a lovely Homely feeling it’s very relaxed and welcoming. Nice lounge area with lots of sofas and a tv! Kitchen is well equipped and very clean! The room was very clean and we also were given towels. Lots of parking on the street outside if the 3 spaces on site are taken. Would recommend staying here.
There was a temporary manager and she did an outstanding job, greeting us and gave us a towel for the hot spring up the road. We returned this, of course. The communal kitchen was very clean and it was great to chat to other residents about places to go to. The room was very tiny and really only suitable for a single but a double bed had been squeezed in. Very clean. The parking was limited but we parked on site, others parked outside on the road which was quite safe.
Paul is so helpful! I accidently left some jewellery there and he posted it to me ASAP. Cant thank him enough! Customer service was fabulous. As soon as we arrived Paul happily answered all of our touristy questions giving great advice. The place is super clean, tidy and great value for money. Thank you seagulls guesthouse!
Stayed here overnight as a travel stop and I wish I could’ve stayed longer! Free Wifi, (Shared) Tv, a comfortable sitting lounge with homely music, small but comfortable rooms, shared kitchen and dining room, just a minutes drive from the Mt. Manganui Town Centre. Overall, it’s a shame I only stayed here as an overnight stop. Highly recommended! Drawbacks: Shared Toilets and Shower, We had loud neighbours (This probably won’t be a problem for you), but aside from that, absolutely perfect!
Just a 15 minute stroll from the heart of Mt Maunganui, this establishment is excellent. It's exactly what it says it is. Spotlessly clean throughout (rooms, kitchen, lounge etc), it's a relaxing place to spend a night or two. With a choice of rooms to suit most (dorm, private with shared facilities, private with own toilet, private with ensuite), and competitive prices to match, this is a place I'll stay again, especially as the staff are friendly and helpful. Parking available in a surprisingly quiet street not far from the Mount, and comfortable communal areas including big-screen LG tv, dvd player (with small collection of movies), a few games, mini library, plenty of lounges and a couple of pretty comfy rocking chairs, Seagulls has been the perfect place for my partner and I to relax in peace after our weekend of adventure.…
The Seagulls Guesthouse has a welcoming atmosphere. You can come and go as you please, or be part of talking to others or simply float thru, either way you have a comfortable bed with heaters in the rooms, great hot showers, and roomy kitchen/dining area's to work in plus a warm cosy lounge with a fireplace and big screen TV. Wi-Fi was good and there is some parking on site with camera's. All in all a nice visit with friendly staff.
