My daughter paid for me to stay here. I went to the Reception, I was talking to the receptionist when the phone rang and she just picked it up and I had to wait. 1 sheet of paper was then shown to me where she pointed out the rules, no sitting on the balcony after 10pm no smoking or vaping. They put me in a 2 bedroom apartment but I was told you can only use 1 bed and 1 bathroom. I went to the apartment. The swimming pool automatically closes at 9pm. You have to take your rubbish with you and put it in the appropriate bins downstairs when you go. You have to put your washing up in the dishwasher before you go and put it on or you will be charged extra for cleaning. I went to use the toaster and it hadn’t been cleaned and I couldn’t have a shower because that also hasn’t been cleaned. For all this you get to pay $240 per night. Never again. I had a view of a huge marquee from my window and builders making s noise at .8 am in the morning.…
I hate to be negative when reviewing my accommodation, but I really was disappointed in this one. The pictures on the website look a lot nicer than my room turned out to be. I think they must have been taken years ago, before wear and tear set it. I had a one bedroom apartment with kitchen, laundry and bathroom. (209) Also a nice wide balcony. The apartment block is in an excellent location, one road back from the main beach, and across the road from the Mount Hot pools. You can see Mount Maunganui from the balcony. It was great to have a washing machine and dryer and a fully equipped kitchen, even if I didn't use it. The water pressure in the shower is great, the towels are big and white, and the bed was comfy enough, but... the pillows were not good. 4 different levels of comfort but they felt old and well over their use-by date. The furniture in the room has seen better days. It definitely looks like it was kitset and hasn't been replaced in a long time. The bedside table was bubbling and peeling, the couch was a small two seater which did not feel comfortable enough to relax on and the TV is a cheap one from The Warehouse that didn't have any features except for Sky TV. It was also quite far away from the couch. I went to use the ironing board and it has a cover, but there is no padding underneath it, so that needs replacing. The balcony furniture has seen better days too. The website claims: "The Pacific Apartments offer quality furnishings and fittings in all apartments, modern decor, superior finish and impeccable styling. " Well, that was not true for my room, which cost me $540 for two nights. It was very bland with little thought to interior design. It was just me staying and I didn't use any of the other on site facilities - gym, pool, conference room and carpark. I'd say, stay here for the location, but don't expect it to be a nice place to relax and lounge in. Sorry. But that is true from my experience.…
The staff member upon check in was quite rude and told me I shouldn’t have used Booking.com and that they would’ve upgraded us if we didn’t use it. I found this quite rude and unprofessional. The room was a bit tired and had quite a few marks on the walls and some holes above the bed. The bed was extremely uncomfortable! Instead of buying new mattresses, they had put a memory foam topper on which was like sleeping on a rock. The location of the apartment was very good and the mount and restaurants were very accessible. The shower had very good pressure but the glass was covered in water marks and made it look unclean. Probably won’t be staying here again if we return to the Mount.
Nice quiet large hotel with somewhat good views, but I wouldn't recommend it on that basis, better views elsewhere. Our room was very clean and tidy, no issues with 'tired' furniture etc. What was disappointing is paying good money for a hotel but having to take our own rubbish downstairs to the bins (and then the bin wasn't there so you had to go back up from the basement and out and around to the casual carpark) and also put our dishes in the dishwasher when we left to avoid a "cleaning" fee. In my opinion, the rate for the room includes any cleaning fee. And the dishwasher in my room had the last person's clean dishes still in it! We were going to check if they wanted us to wash our own sheets too. A bit cheeky and this is what would stop me from staying here again. If I wanted to do my own dishes I would have stayed at home, not gone on holiday. …
We had a two bed apartment on an upper floor which had wonderful view over Pilot Bay. The apartment was spotless and everything was in very good condition. The location is perfect and an easy walk to the Mount and both beaches. A relatively short walk into the shops, (Maybe 15 mins or so) and an easy drive everywhere else. Would happily stay there again.
Me and my family stayed in room 703 during our stay and we where shocked and disappointed with the room and the service to start off when we arrived we when to use the bathrooms and none of them had lock big red flag, the couch’s where falling apart, and don’t get me started about the staff they were really rude to us starting we when we would ask for stuff at reception they would get annoyed if you don’t want to do it at least be pleasant. We wouldn’t allowed to swim with wetsuits in the pool, if you don’t want us to wear a wet suit then heat your ice cold pool. I so disappointed with our stay and the way we were treated especially by the managers I would recommend you stay away and find other accommodation
We stayed in 703 it was very tired and worn for the money don’t stay the owners really need to spend some money on it , the spa pool was Luke warm we were told they turn it off during busy season to save money don’t know how true it is but it seems to be going down hill fast . The young bloke in reception was so rude we asked to borrow a vacuum cleaner to vacuum but he was to busy chitty chatting on the phones with his friends . Such a shame we will look else where for accomodation
First of all, it was hard to find a place to park the car so that you could check in - there is no driveway to reception - and the shortage of car parks on the street does not make this easy either. Checking in was okay with lots of rules outlined verbally, even though it was on the paper given to us which we could have read ourselves. Once we found our safe free car park we went up the lift to the room. The room (we had a standard 1 bedroom apartment) was a great size and very well presented. The kitchen had everything we needed. Very handy to have a washing machine and dryer - wasn't expecting that. Pity that the cleaner had left 2 pairs of mens undies in the dryer - obviously not checked. The bathroom was a great size and it was a surprise to not have the mirror fog up after the shower. The bed was not the greatest - not comfortable and quite a thin mattress for what is on the market these days. Ugly wires coming out of the tv on the wall - not a good look for a bedroom. In the lounge, the couch was thankfully not leather or vinyl (cold and slippery), so that was nice to sit on fabric. They were rather deep so needed all the flat cushions to create comfort. Great balcony - large and fit for purpose - pity it was too cold to make use of it. The kitchen was great - everything you needed to cook. Easy to clean. We had to take out the trash and separate it into different recycling - really???? That is not a guest's job.…
Having left accommodation that deeply disappointed, we booked in very last minute without giving the staff any advance warning. Reception was extremely accommodating and friendly. We stayed in apartment 904 which offered unexpected and exceptional views! The interior was well appointed, very clean & modern. Highly recommend this place!
When you check in, park either on the street or in the loading zone just off the street. The carpark at the back means you have to walk right around to the front to check in, then back to collect your car to park in the allocated space.(The apartments come with a car park but you'll need the key fob to access it) We read the website and booked a one bedroom apartment above level 3 to ensure a sea view. The sea view was underwhelming, between the towers on the waterfront. Ours got some morning sun but only a glimpse of the afternoon sun on the deck. I'd suggest asking for a room facing the mountain as that should get the afternoon sun and a nicer view. The apartment was clean, very spacious and well appointed. The deck was large and made for a pleasant place to sit in the afternoon. There were sliders from the lounge and the bedroom. We found the staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely book here again.…
