My travel agent selected the Pacific for my stay in Mt Maunganui. At first I was hesitant because I generally prefer to stay in hotels or b and b’s but I was very pleasantly surprised about this motel. The Pacific Motor Inn is a very comfortable and clean motel, run by friendly and helpful management. The bed was very comfortable, the room was sparkling clean and maintained daily, and the spa was an added luxury. They have thought of everything in terms of facilities and additions. Location is A1 and the only negative I would have is that it is a little noisy at night on occasions due to the apartment next door, but with closed windows it was a very minor issue. I thoroughly recommend this motel. Thanks Kelvin and Lorraine.

Without a doubt the best situated motel in Mt Maunganui, exceptionally clean comfortable. Hosts were really lovely people. This motel is such a short walk to all the best of Mt.Maunganui, food, bars, walking the Mount, beach and harbour shoreline.
We were sorry we only had an o/night stay as this place is best we saw in a short 1 week stay in N Z, cannot wait to make a return trip.

Surpisingly a great place. I usually avoid motels or motor inns but our options were limited at this time of year. It doesnt look like much from the outside but the room and service were impecible. The room itself was huge, maybe 3-4x bigger than a standard hotel, and super clean. Well equipped too, with the usual lage bed, TV and wifi, but also a wee kitchen with some basic supplies. Overall fantastic, comfortable, everything you need. On the downside, we paid over $200 NZD for just the 1 night which is not the cheapest, the pool is tiny as well but the beach is a 5min walk away anyway.

Quiet, extremely comfortable and large bed, friendly and helpful staff. Will be staying here on every business trip to Mount Maunganui. Very pleased with the cleanliness and all amenities available. Car parking off road basically right outside your room is so good when travelling for work. Local shops are so convenient and the whole area is very safe.

Tried to stay at this motor inn. Waited for 10 minutes as the receptionist took phone calls and completely ignored me. I was the only person at the reception. She had plenty of opportunity to acknowledge me but choose not to.

It was exactly 9.00am while I was washing the breakfast crockery when the knock sounded at the door. There stood a whirlwind of three uniformed persons, plus a trolley. "We are here to do your room" said one UP " What do you need and we will also do the dishes. While I continued to defend myself against the voiced one's "Dishes are our job" statements, the other two more quiet UP's had slipped passed me and were well into their tasks. By 9.05am the UP whirlwind had finished and gone - taking with them our breakfast tray and a broken drawer. "Not a problem" one said, from an increasing distance, concerning the drawer, "It happens all the time". Tops for the cleaning team whose pleasant manner and repartee went a long way here. Favourably, that is.
Spouse and self stayed at this motel over three nights and found it's points-of-difference being cleanliness, light rooms, comfort and over-generous (fruitwise) free breakfast - that's FREE - a word rarely used by most motel operators. If, for whatever reason, a breakfast was purchased it would be $11.00
Madame Christiana and Messeur Adonis are exceptional welcoming hosts from the time a guest fronts at reception to that final door closure after paying the bill. The motel is sited in the main street of The Mount so very close to shops and with both a Chinese and an Indian restaurant almost next door and a Thai place a few doors in the other direction, A great position to stay - Hopefully repeatedly in our case.
No need to spend madly on dining while at the Mount - we ate, and imbibed, two evenings at the RSA and one evening at Club Maunganui (the newer name for the old Cosmopolitan Club and in flashier premises). While both clubs are OK we recommend the RSA over the other.

I had a pleasant enough stay.
Pros: good location, comfortable room.
Cons: very noisey (people and traffic) expect to wake couple of times per night, no dining table of any size, decor is a little dated and the toilet was so close to the wall I had to sit sideways!
Studio room.

The room was cold, with no heater provided. Dark room. There was lots of condensation in the bathroom as there was no ventilation... outdated room decor and squishy layout. We would not stay there again.
