Had a gals getaway escape &.stayed at the Baywatch Motor Inn for 3 nights 29th, 30th & 31st in the Family Room whilst exploring. Fantastic service from Barry & Lee very, friendly, welcoming & accomodating. Highly recommend & definitely will return.

Prime location on Mount Maunganui road, all within walking distance of clothing shops, restaurants etc... bus stop just down the road to take you directly to Bayfair Westfield Shopping Mall. Beach less than 10 minute walk.

Large spacious bathroom with plenty of storage to pop makeup/skincare!!! a seperate shower & decent sized spa bath which was used after a long day at the beach & or shopping. Basic kitchenette but larger than other motel/hotels used for cooking breakfast & had all the utencils to cook with . There was a large box full of teas, hot chocolate, coffee, sugar & biscuits on arrival better than most of what I've recieved staying at hotels. Daily service cleaning another great additional service most motels & self service hotels don't offer however my bed wasn't made nor were the floors vacummed upon returning to the room. There is a coin cost to access self service laundry onsite. Pool towels offered with a small pool which we used everyday to cool down or after walking on the beach. Was nervous it would be packed but it wasn't which I liked staying at a motel with less occupant rooms. Air conditioning unit in lounge which was top of the range and worked perfectly.

In the Family Room I stayed in a room with a king sized bed, great nights sleep, gorgeous light fixtures on both bedside drawers plus the beautiful antique mirror on the sidewall. Lots of storage in the wardrobe plus a larger set of drawers to use just under TV. The only issue was the bed had no heating blanket & had an outdated fan above the bed to circulate air flow which I used once & then opted to open windows above bed which did a better job.

In the lounge area was a x1 queen sized bed with a heating blanket which the bestie used alongside a small drawer for clothes. There was additional space to pop things on the large TV cabinet/desk space which she used aswell as the wardrobe in my room. The only issue was the glass window although there was a garden with grenery partly protectly our rooms privacy you could see through into the room from the footpath. I would recommend curtain mesh behind the drapes as an easy fix especially where you have a bed placed in the lounge area. We were told about this when we had the tour of the room, we would close curtains if we had too.

Overall besides small changes that can be made an amazing experience staying at the mount.

Located on the main street, the local bus stops at the door and there is a choice of four Fast Food shops less than 50 metres away. A short walk takes you to some excellent shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. The proprietors are very friendly and the allocated car park was adjacent to the room.

Sitting just apart from the hustle and bustle of the touristy retail center of Mount Maunganui, the Baywatch motel is a short and easy walk to everything, including the famous Mount itself, the beach and the harbour. We stayed 3 nights in this very clean and modern motel, enjoying the very comfortable bed and finding everything WD needed in the well equipped kitchen. Something all travellers need sooner or later is a laundry; the facility at the Baywatch is not only well sited and convenient to use, with a sunny clothesline right there, but not exorbitant either. With 2 cruise ships at the pier, a gourmet food market in the park and the mount to climb, there was a lot to like here.
Highly recommended for a few days.
We were most impressed with the friendliness, helpfulness and courtesy of our host the manager.

This motel is looking a bit dated, but extemely comfortable with a very soft bed and big fluffy bath towels. It is very clean, but the fridge is really tiny and with the door shelf broken, held very little for a three day stay. The reason I haven't given a higher rating is because there was no table and chairs - just a desk with one chair. We did ask for another one and were given a plastic outdoor chair so we could both sit at the desk for meals, but not really satifactory. I always stipulate what I want when booking a motel, but never thought to ask if a table an chairs were provided as I have never stayed anywhere before where they haven't been!

We booked this motel because of the location and the good reviews on Trip advisor.
The ground floor studio unit we had was very spacious and has everything you will need except cooking facilities - but there are restaurants within an easy 1-10 minutes walk
Although it is right on a busy road, with the windows closed we didn't hear any road noise

The bed was very low down and although comfortable enough was hard to get out of sometimes.
Both of the armchairs in our unit were not very comfortable to sit on and one of them was showing some obvious wear and tear on the arms.

The pool area was locked and when unlocked we were told it had not been used since last summer and upon inspection it was in need of cleaning. It was quite warm 2 of the days we stayed and it would have been nice to have been able to use it.

The spa bath in ther studio unit was nice and there was plenty of good pressure from the shower head

Overall we felt the motel was 'ok'

Thanks for your review. We are pleased you generally enjoyed your stay. Please know that we have had new furniture on order since August this year. Many suppliers are experiencing delays in components that need to come from overseas. The room you were in is one of the last beds we need to update, and the import of latex has been an issue, but they hope to have delivery to us before the end of the year. We have been advised that the order for new chairs are due this week - finally! The pool has finally warmed up this week too with some sunshine on it, so is cleaned and now ready to go for the summer. While we had some warm days the water itself was no where near swimmable during your visit, hence why the pool had not been cleaned that week.

I stayed for a week while on business, with my husband travelling with me. We stayed in a King Studio unit. It was very clean and tidy. The kitchenette was great for breakfast and lunch but is a bit basic to cook dinners. There is plenty of room with a desk to work on. The location is great with a heap of restaurants of all types within walking distance. The Manager/Owner, Yi, was very friendly and helpful. There is also off-street parking. We'll be staying again next time we are at The Mount.

We stayed here for one night in January 2020 - two adults and two teenagers in a unit with a bed in the main lounge area and two single beds in a separate bedroom.

The motel is conveniently located on the main road at the start of the commercial area. Across the road there are outlets for kebabs, pizzas, and burgers, while shops and restaurants are a short walk up the road. We walked to a supermarket about 1.5 km down the other end of the road. We walked to and from the main beach, which took roughly half an hour or so at a leisurely pace.

The unit had all the usual facilities including a kitchenette and good wifi. Our unit faced the street but we heard absolutely no noise. Everything was tidy and well maintained. We were able to park our car outside the front door of our unit.

The motel has a small-ish pool that we did not use.

We booked this accommodation at the last minute and found Barry very helpful both on the phone and in person on arrival.
We stayed with our 14 year old daughter. There was a king size bed in the bedroom and pull-out couch in the lounge. The room was a good size for the 3 of us.
We walked to the beach both days we were there. Took about 7 minutes. Was a quick walk to a restaurant/bar but slightly too long in the heat to the Mount itself.
The pool was nice and refreshing and again very clean.
Would recommend.
