Quite a find. There is hope for finding a good pub with rooms in rural WA! After some bad, and very bad, experiences, the Lake King Tavern and Motel hit the mark. There are some rooms of solid construction, but I scored one of the dongs. However, its construction was hidden behind some brickwork, with a concrete pad for parking,... More

Lake King was a surprise in a number of aspects. The lake is more of a salt lake and of no real scenic value. There is now a small under awning tractor museum, but beside the Tavern, Motel and Caravan Park there is not much here. We had a good dinner and full breakfast at reasonable prices. The motel room... A motel in the middle of nowhere. Well, we weren't expecting much beyond a very basic room. If there were no bedbugs that would be a bonus. It turns out that the rooms are quite nice. Quite roomy and with a fairly modern feel. Now there were some shortcomings. There was a fridge, kettle and toaster, but no plates or... More

Awesome place to stay. Great accommodation - neat and tidy and quite modern. The tavern has a great atmosphere and they serve up fantastic food. Great way to break up your trip to Esperance or if you are on your way back to Perth. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Couples, families or business

Stayed one night in August 2016 and so glad we did. Motel rooms clean comfy and a good size. The Tavern is great. A couple of drinks in front of the open fire before dinner. We both had steaks cooked to our liking topped with spare ribs ( all for $29 ) Can highly recommend this place.... Don't drive past

Stopped through here for lunch. Glad we did! The footy was on TV and we settled in for the next hour. Service behind the bar very friendly. Our Beef Thai Salads were terrific and the chef was able to easily oblige by omitting the cashews from one of the dishes when we ordered, no hassles. Highly recommend this hotel for... More

On a recent trip from Hyden to Esperance, we (six adults and an infant) stopped in at the Lake King tavern for lunch. Good find! The tavern was clean, staff very cheerful and helpful. Food can be dodgy when travelling in the quieter areas of Western Australia, but not so here. Plentiful, good menu, value for money and was served... More
