Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have been going to sunseeker lodge for years and it is so beautiful! The owners have made such dramatic changes to the place and every time we go it’s even better than before. The view is incredible, it’s lovely and quiet and there is so much to do.

I booked my husband and son in here for one night last week and they really enjoyed their stay. Very clean and comfortable with a great value breakfast that set them up for their hiking. Very helpful friendly hosts . My Auckland city based son said he felt like he was in a different country, so peaceful and beautiful,

Karren was very hospitable. The room was very pleasant, comfortable and quiet. Karren also gave good advice of places to hike and eat. She checked with us every day to see if we needed anything and talk about what we had done that day.

Wow! What an amazing place to stay. The views are amazing, the accommodation is splendid and they can’t do enough to help! Overlooking a pretty bay, we stayed in the large shared apartment. Although a little dated in places this added to the quaintness and experience. There is so much kitchen equipment and the place actually has a working dishwasher! We bbq on the deck for the evening meals and are breakfast there too. The weather could have been kinder to us but hey it’s snowing in England 😂! We did make use of the hot tub undercover but overlooking the bay too! Fantastic place can’t understand why it’s supposed to be rated as a 2!!

We stayed at Sunseeker Lodge over Easter Weekend. Karen & Evan couldn't do enough to help with directions, advice and are just lovely people. Our room was simple, but spotlessly clean. Our first time at Whangaroa Harbour and what a unique place. We were lucky to get out on the water for a fish and to check out the stunning scenery. I thought that I had seen it all in NZ, but Whangaroa Harbour is truly unique. Looking forward to heading up again some time again and will definately stay at Sunseeker Lodge. Dennis

Stayed one night in one of the cabins. Friendly welcome from owner, who gave me a tour of the site. Room was pretty basic but all other amenities were adjacent: full kitchen, bathroom, sitting area. My bed was very comfortable and a fan was provided to cool things down. Wifi, although limited, worked fine for me. I took the walk up to the summit, 30mins uphill for stunning 360 views. There is one other twin room, group bunks room plus larger room. Also a pool. A lot of thought had been put into the site, which was apparent. Lovely location, very peaceful in the morning. Would definitely recommend and return.

3 friends and I spent two nights at the Sunseeker Lodge for a fishing weekend. The hosts are very friendly and make you feel right at home. Our room was immaculate and the beds were all very comfortable. No problems at all and will definitely be back. Great value and a beautiful place to get away for the weekend. Highly recommend!

We stayed 2 nights in a one bedroom apartment. Unit was clean. Kitchenette was adequate. There is small table and chairs just outside the door, which was a great place to enjoy the view with a beer or wine. Short walk to the marina where you can get a drink or food.
