Detailed Reviews
We enjoyed our stay at Blue Horizons. We had a one-bedroom suite. It was small, but adequate for our needs. There was a balcony with a small table where we had breakfast every morning and lunches if we ate in. The kitchen had very basic dishes, silverware, glasses, pans, utensils, etc along with a full size fridge. We did purchase some additional ice trays since there were only 2 small trays. We had requested a microwave and were able to get one our first morning. The WIFI and AC worked great and there were USB outlets for charging. There is a room by the pool with tons of books available. We had a suite at the very top of the resort. We had a great view, so worth the extra steps. We had a choice between many, many steps or a very steep paved area plus a few steps to get to our suite. Anyone with any mobility issues should request a lower level room. We called a couple of times for maintenance issues and someone resolved the issues very quickly. We ate lunch once at the pool bar and thought it was ok, but not worth a repeat. We did not eat at La Belle Creole. It was an easy walk to Spice Island Beach Resort to hang out on the beach. We never had a problem getting a lounge chair. However, there are no signs that the loungers in the one area are for Blue Horizon guests. Some days several of them were occupied by people who I am fairly sure were not staying at Blue Horizons. The grocery store is very easy to walk to and there are several restaurants in the area. Morne Rouge Beach is close enough to walk to, but it involves a lot of walking up and down hills. Overall, Blue Horizons was a good choice for an affordable suite near the best beach in Grenada with lounge chairs available on that beach and within walking distance of a grocery store, restaurants and the bus stop.

This was our first time to Grenada. We loved it -- the island, the people, the beautiful scenery, and especially Blue Horizons. We rented a one-bedroom, garden view cottage and it was absolutely perfect for us. The gardens, as many others have said, are stunning. I enjoyed the birdwatching tour on Sunday, as well as the garden tour. So many different species of plants and trees on the resort alone.
It was great to have a kitchenette to cook a few meals in and have snacks, tea time, etc. The room was kept immaculate by our lovely housekeeper Rhea, and we enjoyed hours of sitting on the terrace watching the birds, relaxing, reading.
The location is superb. Five minute walk to the beach (beautiful Grande Anse Beach with comfortable loungers at the Spice Island Beach Club). The use of those facilities for the beach is a great perk for staying at Blue Horizons. We never had a problem finding a lounger or a shady place to sit. (The spa services at Spice Island are also available to Blue Horizon guests.) In addition, the resort is only a 10 minute walk to Spiceland Mall with a good IGA market for supplies (their bakery's chocolate chip muffins and cranberry walnut are very good) and there is an excellent wine shop in the mall, as well as a wonderful ice cream store and an interesting book store and art gallery, among other shops.
The staff at Blue Horizons are all friendly and helpful and the Hopkin family treated us first time visitors as if we were old friends. What a lovely place to spend a week. I wish we could have stayed a month!

We stayed for three nights at Blue Horizons at the end of our two week tour of Grenada. Blue Horizons is a very well managed and maintained resort of around 32 cottages and studios set in magnificent surroundings. Would recommend for any garden lover, as the planting is really exceptional and beautifully maintained. Our villa was very comfortable, had everything we needed and was well maintained. Our only disappointment was that our cottage (no 32) was close to the road and without a real view of the gardens. We will return and will request a villa higher up (ocean view). The pool area and bar is a nice place to relax. Blue Horizon guests are able to use the beach loungers adjacent to the Spice Island Hotel on beautiful Grande Anse beach. Overall would definitely recommend. The resort is owned by Grenadians and is eco-friendly so lots of reasons to choose this resort over a bland corporate owned multi-national hotel.

Blue Horzons is a great place to stay. It is meticulously maintained and the owner Arnold Hopkin is pleasent and ever-present making sure that everything is being done right. His staff is exceptionally well trained. For example when I called the front desk and made a request the person who took my call repeated back to me my request to be sure that my expectations would be met. They provide plug converters. They folded the mirrors in on my rental SUV when it was parked so they wouldn't get damaged. Thats the way customer service should be. The bed was very comfortable and there were 2 televisions in our room and ceiling fan in the bedroom. The AC would cool the room down in no time. The bed was very comfortable. My wife said that to me a couple times. The beach towels were nice, big and thick.
Arnold's brother owns Spice Island on Grand Anse beach which is about 5 minutes walk. They have nice clean and padded chairs on the beach for the Blue Horizons guests to use. You can order drinks on the beach and enjoy their restaurants as well.
The Blue Horizons room we stayed in had a kitchen and we shopped at the IGA down the street. Its in the some location as the Spiceland Mall. We made our own breakfast everyday before we went to the beach. From our room you could see Grand Anse Beach and the town of St George.
I would highly recommend Blue Horizons and the Island of Grenada. Grenada is a clean and beautiful place. Rent a car! Learn how to drive on left side of the road! Great fun.

Maybe I had a pre-conceived idea about Blue Horizons … it wasn’t what I expected.
As I was on my own I booked a Superior Studio and had asked the Virgin Holiday Booking Agent that I’d like to be “high up” as I wanted a view. She had obviously not visited the resort as the Studios are at ground level (nos 5 & 6 seemed to be higher up but weren’t available). This, of course, was NOT the fault of the resort … however I was allocated Studio No 1 which is located alongside the public road and at the open entrance to the resort (not the entrance where the reception is situated). After booking 11 months in advance and being on my own, I expected a better location. I saw “people” wander in the open gate of the resort, look around then wander out. I felt very vulnerable. It took me 8 nights to move accommodation as the resort was full. I finally moved next door to No 2 … anything to get away from the open gate.
However the studios (both of them) was scrupulously clean but the kitchen facilities were very basic and absolutely NOTHING in the way of foodstuffs was provided. I had to wait a week to get an airer on which to hang my washing as they were apparently “all out”. How hard would it have been to allocate an airer to each unit?
Saying all this though the pool area and adjacent restaurant was excellent … although expensive. The cost of food and drink has rocketed in the Caribbean so this expense was not confined to Blue Horizons. It made self catering very expensive. The grounds were superb but I was only asked if I wanted a tour on my last day.
I made the most of my holiday but it could have been so much better if I’d been told of the location of the Studios (I would have booked a one-bedroom unit) and if I’d not been allocated probably the Studio in the worst location on the resort.

We stayed here for one week and were made welcome on arrival and shown to our room. There were some issues which is why we cannot give a higher rating albeit it is in a lovely location close the beaches, immaculate gardens and spacious rooms and quite a laid back and relaxed atmosphere. The shower in our room was over the bath which is not an issue however, the flow of water was dire, basically trickled out. This really does need to be looked at. The air conditioning unit broke down and flooded the floor underneath next to the bed and my husband slipped as unaware there was water on the floor. Reported the issue early morning and when we got back after being out all day it was still not sorted which resulted in us spending an inordinate amount of time to get sorted and finally got resolved at 10pm. The room was adequate but felt cluttered. In the bedroom there were two queen size beds which filled the room and made it tight for space. The bathroom quite small but adequate apart from the shower. The kitchen set up for self catering but not at all well equipped, for example no washing up bowl, only saucepans and a frying pan available so unable to cook a meal in the oven. No plastic bowls for mixing or measuring; is this intentional to encourage the restaurant on sight? The living room not well equipped, table and two chairs stuck in front of the cooker, the sofas and chairs rather uncomfortable nor suitable. The furniture on the balcony very uncomfortable and we found problematic, i.e could not sit there in comfort. The staff all seemed very remote and off hand and gave you the impression that they would prefer not to speak to you. Our one breakfast experience on the first morning was a soulless experience. The staff couldn’t either smile or even acknowledge your existence; very poor and over priced food.
The noise from the rood was continuous with the constant revving and accelerating of engines almost 24 hours a day.

What a wonderful find! Very sensibly priced. The gardens are beautiful and perfectly maintained. The staff are all delightful. We were one of the few 'newbies' many people have been coming back for over 20 years which I think says it all! Our first week we barely bumped into anybody else. It is a 5 minute walk to a perfect beach. We visited in January so there was barely anyone on the beach as well so no difficulty getting a sunbed and placing it under a shaded tree or two. The garden tour with Avon was fascinating. The bird tour was interesting too. The manager/owner was so friendly and informative about local history and happy to chat. The rooms are kept exceptionally clean, yes they are slightly dated but all totally functional and more than you need. The bed was super comfy. The pool bar was great for a meal or two as well. The supermarket was a 5 minute walk although a reasonable wide choice (with a lot of Waitrose branded product!!) sometimes you have to take only whats been delivered. I would take a torch as in January it gets dark as early as 6.30 and walk back can be an experience. Felt totally safe walking home in darkness along the streets though!

Yesterday we checked into this beautiful resort, with pristine gardens and live local flowers in our room. The owner came to greet us warmly. The assigned staff member gave us a pleasant tour on the way to our room. We were provided with a delicious local drink on the way to our room. An additional staff member brought our luggage to our room without being requested by us. Somewhere along the way, my spouse laid down an important bag of luggage. It was not until a couple hours later that we realized that it was missing. We called and visited the office. The staff was very responsive. Shannon, the manager on duty, came to our room and did a thorough investigation of the matter. We went out for an event and when we came back, he gave us the good news that the bag had been found! My spouse had set it down when we had drinks prepared. Nothing was missing from the bag. Sometimes, it takes a personal crisis to show the strength and depth of quality that persons and establishments possess. That is the case In this particular situation. The staff here wouldn’t give up until our problem was resolved. We prayed that the bag would somehow be found and God saw fit to use them, willing and diligent vessels in His hands, to bring us great blessing. It is my hope that this extraordinary experience will encourage others who consider this resort to feel confident in making their choice to visit here.

Conveniently located a 5 minute walk from Grand Anse Beach and the dive shops along it, including Dive Grenada, the moderately expensive resort offers duplex type chalets with kitchenettes.
We got one of the upper king rooms. Over all we were pleased with the layout of the rooms, the available storage and the kitchen. The closet has extra shelving and there is a desk/dresser with drawers and well as extra drawers in the nightstands. The furniture, including the bed, is reasonably comfortable.
The bath room has ample counter space and under the counter shelving. The water pressure was not consistent, but mostly OK with plenty of hot water in the shower.
The kitchen had everything we needed to cook easy meals including a full stove with an oven. Don even roasted a chicken one night. The pots, pans and other kitchen equipment were of decent quality. There is, however, no microwave and the kitchen cabinets are showing wear.
The rooms are air-conditioned and there is a fan over the bed. The room also has a safe and good wifi. Maid service is offered every day. Although we were on the top row of buildings there is an obstructed view of the sea and town with trees and bushes blocking the lower half of the view. It was quiet during our stay but there weren’t a lot of guests around either.
The manicured garden grounds are well-tended and pretty. The pool area and restaurant are pleasant but we did not spend a lot of time there. We had no issues with mosquitos. Staff is friendly but we didn’t ask for much more than to arrange a taxi into town and to the airport.

Overall, this is an ok hotel but I would not categorize it as a resort. We would not stay here again.
POSITIVE: Strong wifi throughout the grounds. Adequate housekeeping. Refrigerator and coffee maker in the kitchen. Short walk to the beach and landscaped, quiet grounds. The staff was friendly and helpful with a few exceptions.
NEGATIVE: We were here in April 2022, and there were very few people staying here. I feel that we did not have the service options that may have been offered during busier times. The restaurant is pretty expensive compared to other good options nearby. We didn't like anything we ate there. It had very limited hours was often closed. We made breakfast in the room most days with groceries bought locally. We chose this hotel because we were looking for some on site options, but ended up going off site for everything. Honestly, it’s a bit overpriced for the limited on site options. There were also no outlets in the bathroom. The staff did not have an extension cord that would allow me to dry my hair in front of a mirror - they seemed surprised that I would want to – so I needed to purchase a $40 surge protector. Lastly, the bed was not comfortable and I had issues with my back during our stay.
Our flight was delayed and Expedia confirmed we’d be refunded for the day we wouldn’t be there. A week after we got home, I received an email that the hotel decided not to process the refund. We made the change prior to the cut off date and received confirmation from Expedia. We're disputing the charge.

Hello and thank you for your message. Kindly note that since the reopening of both properties (on different reopening dates) during the pandemic, it was necessary to make some changes to some value adds whilst staying at Blue. We regret that the private beach service is no longer available. However, there are several public access options that are available and our concierge would be happy to assist.
