My partner is a Wilson so we had to try the pub potentially just for a quick drink. In the end we had drinks, a sensational meal and played pool with the locals. Jimmy the owner is worth the price of a drink in entertainment value and as previously mentioned in other reviews dont judge this book by its cover. Thanks Jimmy a great night enjoyed by the Aucklanders

What a wonderful surprise - after having a disappointing meal in another hotel the previous evening we were recommended here by a local. The outside of the hotel doesn’t do justice to the warm welcome and fantastic food waiting for you inside. The lamb chops were fantastic ,the prawn wrapped in bacon great for a shared starter. Friendly locals , host at the bar friendly with a great dry sense of humour

Probably the best meals in Reefton - a small town. Short menu but good variety. Eg prawns wrapped in bacon, blue cod, chicken breast wrapped in bacon, lamb shanks, steak. Disappointed that they had run out of desserts. Nice bar. Pleasant barman and receptionist - probably the owner.

Ate here but stayed elsewhere. We were arriving into Reefton about 7.30 on a Friday evening so didn't want to miss out on dinner. The father in law that lives in Reefton, the motel lady (Latern court, who was very nice and friendly) and the lotto lady all said Wilson's was the best place to go for dinner. I did some research on TA and Wilsons certainly had reviews to be proud of. Very friendly bar owner Jimmy, had his hands full on Friday as he was the only bar staff but served everyone with a great attitude. Very good beer and wine prices! Friendly locals and travelling patrons to talk to. The meals were beautiful two of us having the pork belly which was the most tender juicy pork we have had, nice veges, meals a very good portion, loved it. And we had the lamb cutlets and veges which were cooked very nicely. Meals came out in a timely manner. Met the one of the chefs who was also delightful, he was on his night off but whoever the other chef was delivered a superb meal. Loved our meals and got so caught up in them I forgot to photograph. Didn't see the special board until I was up ordering our meals so decided that since we enjoyed the meals and service so much we would go back Saturday. Once again 10/10 service from the moment we arrived, bar owner and bar staff remembered my drink preferences. Had prawns wrapped in bacon as an entree which were delish! Father in law had the pork belly again which smelt amazing and he enjoyed. Hubby had a massive plate of pork ribs that were just falling off the bones. I had the salmon with potato rosti and salad, salmon was a decent size, tasty rosti and nice presentation, would have it any day. Prices of meals were decent and value for money. Totally enjoyed our two nights there and look forward to visiting again. thanks team Wilson's for a super time.

Ordered the lamb shanks expecting the usual pub grade meal. Surprise surprise this was the best lamb shanks I’ve had in years. The vegetables were presently simply but cooked to perfection. The gravey was just delicious and the lamb shank superb. Well caramelised And the meat fell from the bone and was tender to taste. Well done Wilsons. I’ll sure to come back next time I’m through.
