There is secure parking outside the huts. In the different huts, there are rooms off of a main corridor. The room I stayed in was clean with good air conditioning. I was bitten a lot during the night, despite using a mosquito net and bug repellent. The staff were lovely - very friendly, happy to help and keen to entertain (by singing). We were able to book a boat tour to Pandan Pandan island (10 minutes before the tour left) - the staff were very accommodating (I have uploaded some photos from the Pandan Pandan island too). A 5 minute walk down the beach takes you to the local restaurant, where we ate every night - friendly service and yummy food! There is also a shop next to the restaurant too. There are monkeys around the beach - but they do keep their distance from you. You often see a group of cows wondering around but these weren’t intimidating at all. You can watch beautiful sunsets here too. From here, we drive to the northern top of Borneo. Overall a great place to stay.

First of all, I feel excited to go for a first academic trip with my fellow classmates to Usukan Cove Lodge. It was a 2D1N trip. It is a beautiful memory that is hard to forget because so many memorable moments that occur without our realizing it. From less know each other, through this trip, we are getting closer and are starting to recognize the sincerity of each other. The facilities and services shown very satisfying for me. The staffs of UCL very friendly and always helped us if we needed any help. It has a very beautiful scenery that I could not wait to take pictures of every inch of views that exist in this place. Here too I have tried a new game called "Banana Boat". This game is fun even though at first I did know that I am not a good swimmer but I still want to try it because I feel safe due to the life jackets were provided to us and the staff were always take care of us while playing the game. Food and beverage was very satisfying because the food provided is delicious and booked at the renowned restaurant in Kota Belud. In the evening, we continue to follow the course of the reef, which is one of the most important treasures of a country. The last day is a day where I got to know a new world, the world under the sea. We were given the chance to snorkel and dive even though most of us do not know how to swim. This activity is very exciting for me because I had never tried floating in the middle of the ocean. This is crazy! Hahaha … But this is a memorable experience. The underwater world was very beautiful and wonderful. So many marine life that I had found ! To end my review, you must try yourself ! We will not know if we do not feel it by ourselves. I'll be back there again one day !

We tried to book this lodge the day before, the person whom answered the phone told us to ring someone else, who in turn told us he was unale to help us. Eventually we managed to book two rooms.
We arrived as planned the next day, the view was great, but the service was bad, they denied thtat we had a booking, one person said hey had rooms and then some else said they didn't. They eventually conceded and said they had two rooms and wanted to charge us 300 RM. This is what you get for your money, a room with double bed, air conditioning. The toilets and showers are in another block completely, there was no running water, toilets were not Working, dirty and none of the water heaters where working. When we complained the manager became very annoyed, we eventually left with a full refund. My advice steer clear of this place.

"Woah, awesome!" is actually my first impression of this Usukan Cove right after we arrived at the destination. Together with my fellow course-mates and our lecturers, we went for our very first academic trip and Usukan Cove Lodge is our chosen place to discover here in Sabah. This 2 days and 1 night trip was well spent because I really did enjoy myself there, not forgetting about my new experiences and knowledge gained that I, as one of Sabah native citizen should be aware of. The bedrooms, foods and other accommodations was superb except for the ladies bathroom, maybe a little maintenance would do to make things more better for future visitors. Before coming to this place, I was quite shocked reading the itinerary because I saw snorkeling and diving written there! Yes, I can't swim and I actually had a bad experience with water before. But thanks to the staff there, while doing the activities, I did survived and get to see the beautiful corals underwater using my own eyes. I "swim" very carefully so that I would not destroy the beautiful corals there by accident and I am sure all my course-mates were doing the same things or even better for the good swimmers. I salute all the staffs, the guides and the general manager himself for giving us your best services and I hope this place will be more successful in conserving the marine life especially the corals. Last but not least, our journey to Usukan Cove Lodge was a meaningful experience and for all the wanderlust out there, this is our place to go.

We stayed here for 1 night, just a stop over after being at the Tip of Borneo because we were getting the boat to Mantanani the next morning, which leaves from the Kuala Abai jetty just a few minutes from Usukan Cove Lodge. One night was enough.
Despite ringing ahead the day before, when we arrived they were surprised to see us, and we had to wait while they made a room up for us.
First impressions....the place was deserted. There were a few people on the beach, but once they had left in the afternoon (I assume they were locals or day trippers) we were the only guests and the staff outnumbered us by about 3:1. They were all friendly but there was clearly not much for them to do so they were all sat around.
There is a large dining area with indoor games, and free tea and coffee available all day. Dinner and breakfast are included. The cost was RM98 for adults and RM75 for my 7 year old son.
Our room was basic but was large and clean with aircon.
The seperate toilet block needed some attention. I tried 3 shower cubicles before I found one that a)had a shower head b)locked and c)had hooks to hang my clothes on….but even that shower was little more than a pathetic dribble- I would have been better off using the cold shower on the beach. The tap in the bathroom was also little more than a dribble.
I can understand that money might not be available for renovations if they don't get many guests, but then again facilities like that are not going to encourage many guests!
The beach was small…not a problem in itself, but there was lots of rubbish, leaves and driftwood around, and there didn't seem to be any effort made to make it a nicer place to sit. We had hoped to snorkel but the sea was too cloudy- I could barely see my hand in front of my face. We initially thought this was due to run off from the land, or from a river, until we saw a sanitary towel floating around and then we weren't so sure, so made a hasty exit from the sea.
There are kayaks available for guests to use (included in the cost) but to be honest after that we didn't want to go in the water at all.
We had a very pleasant surprise when it came to dinner time however….we were given a feast! It was a huge meal, with 4 different dishes including freshly caught fish, a jug of juice and followed by a large plate of fruit. Breakfast was also good with toast followed by omelette, beans and salad vegetables.
In conclusion….the meal was great but for the standard of the rest of the place it was way overpriced. I wouldn't go back.

Journey to the Usukan Cove takes one and half hour journey from UiTM Campus Sabah. We can see scenic view of paddy fields, villages and a picturesque sight of Mount Kinabalu from a different perspective during that journey. They are served us with a great breakfast, tasty coffee and nice view of the white sandy beaches. The food was delicious and perfect for the occasion. The service that made by staffs was friendly and helpful and we really couldn't have hoped for any more, they made our day. Food that provided by Usukan cove Lodge is delicious and it is the best barbecue dinner that I ever have with my lectures and friends.
My friends and I shared quad rooms that contain two bunk beds, two closets, two small cupboards and towels. The rooms are very simple, small and comfortable with fresh air-conditioner. Also, we are learned about diving skills and diving equipment that showed by the professional diving. The snorkeling activities give students a unique opportunity to experience the wonders of a coral reef first hand. All students contribute to the making of perimeter buoy around the bay area with recyclable items.
I was so excited on arrival until I opened the bathroom door. The worse is ladies have to use male toilet and bathroom. The bathroom is in serious need of refurbishment and toilet really unclean (hundreds of dead insects lying around the toilet). Flush also cannot be used and I am thinking how foreign used to this facilities. It is nice place to stay but poor bathroom facilities. Unless bathroom facilities were improved I would never recommend this lodge to public.

Seriously?! I fall in love with Usukan Cove for the first day being there. Its just a very precious moment as a first semester of tourism student. I learn a lot about nature and that's it-I fall in love with the nature through Usukan Cove. The blue sea, the Coral reef, the blowing wind and I like to do some snorkeling activity too. The activity they provide there mean a lot to reduce our stress as student. The staff there also give us their best service as they teach us how to do some reef check, teach us how to do some diving and they even teach us how to swim, I mean those who don't know to swim. The room and the bed also comfortable as we snoring sleeping at night. well, not all things are perfect. I'm a bit unsatisfying with the condition of the facility in the washroom aspect. It will be better if they provide a better washroom for the future guest. Usukan Cove have a quiet and peaceful environment that can help to reduce city environment stress for those who live in the big city. I can't believe such place as Usukan exist in Sabah. Next time I'll bring my family there. Overall, its been a precious moment been there with my friend.

Usukan cove is a very interesting place for me, suitable for carrying out activities involving family, academic field trip and activities related to leisure time or release tension. This is because the atmosphere and very nice in term of environmental and beauty of nature. During field trip 2 days 1 night, I feel was so excited as well as having experience in doing challenging activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, diving and also i've recognize that there are resources in the sea of pandan-pandan island. This also increases self-confidence, develop a discipline which is important for me and my other course mates. However, there are some weakness in terms of facilities where uncomfortable toilet ,room conditions incompatible with a capacity of 4 peoples. Room for 4 persons they provide double decker beds are very small and not suitable for foreign tourists especially for European people. However, overall I feel very cheerful and relaxed by the wonderful thing that i've experienced there.

When I first heard of Usukan Cove, I never really knew where it is. All that I can do was to google it. I found out that It is a very nice place, my adrenaline pumped immediately. If i own a teleporter i would go there right at the moment. But all I can do was wait, it's like I'm waiting for something big, it was big no doubt. What people said are true "penantian satu penyeksaan". I've waited until 31st of Oct sadly at the time I was not in a good state, migraine is kicking terribly. So while we are on our journey I could not enjoy it because my head hurts like it was about to explode. So I ended up sleeping until we arrived at the destination, it was sad because I felt like I missed something important but never mind there's always a next time right?. Finally we arrived i was amazed and jaw dropped it was far beyond my imagination, but then the sound of my stomach interrupted the moment. And then my mind suddenly switched to "I'm super hungry mode". All of us then entered their small gathering place, and Syukur Alhamdullillah there were food prepared i feel blessed. The food was very good and it gave me a good first impression, after we ate the facilitator Kak Shana gave us a short briefing about what activities should be done after 2 o'clock. And we are also given our room key, all of us immediately go into our room get changed and enjoyed our short rest. The room were nice, it's up to the standard that I was hoping for so i have no issue with the room for the rest of the trip. And then there we are at their meeting room it looks small but it can accommodate 80 pax, depending on the room set up. We're having talk about reef checking from that talk i have learned so many things. I didn't know that southeast Asia had the same beach quality like other top beaches like Maldives and bora bora. The talk finish at about 3.30 pm. I forgot to mention that the instructor is Mr Irwansyah a friendly guy who has a wide knowledge about the beaches "claps" thanks Mr Irwansyah. After the talk the rest instructor demonstrated us on what to do during our snorkeling the following day and it finished at around 4.30 pm, so for the rest of the day we had a free and easy time. Some of us tried of the waters ports activity provided by them, I tried kayaking and banana boat. I had a blast it was fun and enjoyable, the free and easy time lasted until 6.30 pm then I showered. I had a few issues pertaining the water, it was salty and not preferable by me perhaps next time they would find other good source of water. We had our dinner at 7pm the food was good, again i have no issues pertaining the food. And we continue the talk with Inno Travel's General Manager who was good at giving talks, and quite funny too. He gave us the chance to do product development that is where I realized that Usukan Cove can offer more than just mere water activities I see something in Usukan there's a lot of potential if it's managed properly. The talk was quite fun, we laugh a lot during the presentation, I can see that we're having a very good time with the rest of the classmates and not to forget Ms Zuraini and Mr Spencer who's laughing out loud. After the talk finished me and my team were asked to do a short simple indoor games. Again laughs everywhere stomach cramps everywhere, I mean that is where the fun parts are right? So we finished at around 11.30pm and slept because the day after is where the main activities are. The next day we get up and get ready for snorkeling and Reef Checking Activity i was in the substrate groups which are the team that examine the dead coral or any other else than fish and invertebrates. The activity was done in Pulau pandan pandan, it was named after a wild pandan appears in the island. It was an ugly plant, but a rather beautiful island. But the activity was delayed due to the heavy rain. The rain poured after we have our lunch. So we have to get back to the cove earlier than planned. We also get the chance to try breathing using a scuba diving gear it was something new for me and interesting. So we're back at the cove packed our things have our shower and depart. It was an enjoyable experience a wonderful place to be at, I hope next time i go there, they will provide something fantastic, wonderful, enjoyable new things that can compete with top beaches in the world because I see something in Usukan Cove.
