We recently stayed with Brian and Julie at Waimahu Retreat. We were made welcome as soon as we arrived. The view from the retreat was something very special. The location suited us as we were looking to connect with the water and access the different bays. The breakfast was amazing and the hospitality was excellent. Can’t say enough about the stay.

Thank you for your review. Bryan and I absolutely loved having you both to stay. I was awesome watching you two take full advantage of the area; both on the water as well as the cafes, wineries and breweries. You were our first guests to arrive with a jet ski and I was envious of you powering across the bay to have lunch at Kawau Island. Thrilled you enjoyed our recommendations with eating places. A three night stay does gives you time explore most of the attractions of the Matakana Coastal region. Loved that you appreciated the quiet, rejuvenating atmosphere of our country-side locale. We celebrated my wife’s birthday and Valentine’s Day here and it was the best decision! Julie and Bryan were fantastic hosts who made sure that everything was taken care of. We will miss the fantastic view and serenity of the place. Highly recommended for a short trip from Auckland!

Waimahu Retreat is a beautiful place to stay, spotless room with a stunning view. Breakfast was just wonderful with different jams, fresh fruits and berry, yogurt and eggs to your liking. Having it outside on the veranda is just a perfect way to start the day. It is the perfect location to explore the countryside north of Auckland whit its beautiful scenery, bays and beaches. Bryan and Julie are just the perfect host. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived. They are very knowledgeable about the area and New Zealand. They are just wonderful company to be with. How wonderful for us to get to know you. A wonderful couple from the north east of Iceland!! Getting to know you reinforced my belief that people are all the same world wide; They care for their spouse, children, grandchildren and their lives. They want the best for their kids. We really have the same wants and needs. We were thrilled that we were part of Elfa's lifelong wish to visit New Zealand.
