Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My bestie and I were looking for a beautiful, quiet place in Europe for a stress-free vacation. We value food, wine, comfort, nature, history, and safety. La Madison de Rafah fit the bill perfectly. The hosts are helpful and charming. The food was world-class. The house was comfortable, cozy, quaint, and so cute! We had such fun exploring the various villages. We look forward to returning again soon!

I've been living in Paris for a year and a half and there's nothing I enjoy more than an escape to the countryside! This B&B is cozy, clean, inviting, comfortable, and very quiet! It's near hiking trails in the forest that provide a lovely outing and take you to nearby villages with restaurants recommend by the hosts. You're also a short drive from several must-see regional sites. This sweet family may even let you borrow their sweet dog, Billie, to join you on your hike! Bridgette is a world class chef and her nightly dinners are creative and delicious. Between her husband, Lucien, and their son serving you and the yummy meals, you'll feel extra special! A typical French breakfast can be expected. Fresh baguettes, croisants, butter and jam, orange juice and coffee/tea. Bridgette even has a milk frother that takes morning coffee to a whole new level! They have rooms that can sleep one to 5 and the prices are very competitive! I especially enjoy that pilgrims hiking the Saint Jaque de Compostelle and those on biking trips stop on and share stories during their stay.

I couldn't recommend it more! Enjoy!

I've been 2 weekends at this B&B. Just 2 hours drive south of Paris, you are surrounded by rolling countryside, near some wine cellars. The house is very homely and authentic and you are welcome by the hosts like family members. The food is absolutely amazing.

Arcy sur Cure is an old village in Burgundy with a history that goes back to the middle ages, though most of the existing houses were built in the 1700 and 1800’s. Arcy is also known for it’s prehistoric caves with drawings said to be more than 30,000 years old. The tourist to Arcy can enjoy hiking and fishing, but you will probably need a car to visit many of the historic sites in the area from the middle Ages or earlier.

The owners of La Maison de Rafah offer a warm welcome to their home. The rooms are spacious and clean, each one with a bathroom. He is a retired butler and she is a Cordon Bleu trained chef, so as you can imagine the service and the food are both wonderful. I recommend having the evening meal – great food at a great price.

The relaxed family dinning and living area on the ground floor also has a large collection of books to borrow and a fireplace for chilly evenings.

My husband and I took a weekend away from the craziness of life and visited this B&B in the heart of France. The owners are a professional chef and former maître d' and they know what they're doing. They treat you with respect and grace and give you as much or little attention as you want. The food was AMAZING and the service was too. The room was very nice, had a fire place in it and it's own personal bathroom. It was also extremely reasonably priced. Only 1.5-2 hrs away from the heart of Paris. Will be going back again soon. :)

This place is amazing - cutely decorated rooms, quaint French village, incredible hospitality, and some of the best food I have ever eaten (ever!)! If you're looking for a place to feel at home and unwind yet still get away from your mundane routine, the Rapha House is it. Worth every cent!

Last week was my 3rd visit to Rafah House and as usual was great. Wonderful hosts treat you as visiting family or friends (which I feel like we are now!). Wonderful calm atmosphere, great place tot de-stress. You can walk around the town, or just rest or tour neighboring villages all within 15-20 minutes. Will return again and again.

Oh my goodness! Where do I begin? First of all, if you are looking to be refreshed from your soul to your palate, La Maison de Rafah is THE place to go! As a missionary living overseas for almost 15 years and having served on three continents, I have a little experience traveling. In all of my years, I have never been in the home of such sweet, caring people as Lucien and Bridgette Castera who run the Maison de Rafah. Bridgette is a professionally trained Chef de Cuisine. Works of art are created in her kitchen and are served with care by her loving husband, Lucien a professional Maitre d'Hotel. The rooms are comfy and welcoming. This is a ministry... if you arrive tired and frazzled from life, you will leave having been cared for in this peaceful village home nestled into the Burgundy countryside.

Excellent food, super rooms, a wonderful ambiance and very welcoming hosts. Bridget and Lucien know the local area well and can advise on all the activities in the area, from wamlks, biking, canoeing and of course - wine tasting. Arcy sur Cure is a very short drive from Chablis, Irancy and St Bris.

"All the rooms are very comfortable. It is great for a group such as a retreat or families on a weekend get-away. The room at the top of the house has, perhaps, the best view and is really nice. All the guests in each room will be well cared for."
