We booked the four day three night grand jungle tour as we didn't have much time to plan out our trip. We loved our cute cabins which really make you feel like you're in the jungle, and the hammock on the front porch was an added bonus! The setting is very much in the jungle and rustic, but the restaurant at the hotel had good food at reasonable prices.
We did the night safari, took a canoe tour down the river, and had massages as a part of our packages which were all great. We also had an overnight stay at the cabins on the lake, and the views there were stunning. Visiting the lake was definitely a highlight for us. The only part of the experience that was not totally amazing was the guided hike at the lake which was a bit disappointing and the guide double charged us for the hike.
Which brings me to the best part of our experience at the river cottages, the SERVICE! After we returned home the owner contacted us to ask us if we had been over charged on our trip to the lake and even went so far as to refund us the money. The owner is really sweet and has a lot of great tips about the area, and the rest of the staff were really amazing as well. The day we left our bus was arriving later in the day than expected so the staff drove us to and then picked us up from a hiking trail, and even let us use a shower and towels after we had checked out.
We were there during covid times so we might have gotten lucky with how quite it was, but overall we would really recommend staying here and booking one of their packages.

We visited Khao Sok in March of 2021 and booked a room at Khao Sok Riverside cottages. The room was spacious and clean with bottled water and large beds with mosquito nets over them. We had booked our night safari hike and the rafflesia hike with riverside cottages and Bodhi was so helpful in making sure all our arrangements were smooth. Breakfast and dinner was delicious and it was a delight to sit at the cafe facing the river. The green curry fried rice I ordered was particularly delicious. Service was prompt and to the point at all times. The property is very lush and cool. My husband, my son and me enjoyed seeing the flowers and the creatures of the jungle around the property. Spotted different colours of frogs and snapped a lot of flowers to our hearts content. We were so thankful we chose this property as Bodhi the owner was super friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend Riverside cottages for a lovely and pocket friendly experience for the entire family. The price point of the rooms and the food at the resort was very reasonable and the tour prices were far lesser than what was offered by other hotels in the area. My family and I would love to come back for a long weekend as Khao Sok has cast its spell on us for sure.

Thank you team Riverside cottages
Cheers and keep up the great work team!! You guys are amazing!

A visit to Khao Sok National Park was at the end of a wonderful family vacation which began in Chiang Mai, then on to the island of Koh Yao Yai and ending here at Khao Sok Riverside Cottages. What an exceptional ending for all of us. The cottages are surrounded by beautiful jungle foliage and flowers and you truly get a secluded vibe! Our cottage sat up along the river and we enjoyed sitting on our deck or lying in the hammock watching the world float by! I enjoyed the laughter of people floating on inner tubes or simply playing in the rapids down river. We were told to bring bug spray but never once needed it...perhaps February is bug free month! The fans certainly were more than sufficient to cool us...in fact we were actually chilly in the middle of the night and turned them off. Not having air conditioning was no problem whatsoever. The open air lounge area in the lobby/restaurant was so inviting that we stayed long into the night playing card games! The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly!

We chose to take a private overnight tour with a guide, offered by the Cottages, to the floating lake bungalows. I am so glad we did as I saw many with up to 15 people in their group with only one guide. To me, trekking through the jungle and doing the rugged climbing would have been much too difficult without our exceptional guide, Mr. Ja Ja. Our family group ranged in age from 24 to 70, and Mr. Ja Ja gave us his undivided attention and taught us so much about the surrounding area. I would highly recommend the overnight stay at the Lake. We chose the deluxe floating bungalows which were pricier, but at my age, I prefer a bathroom in the room rather than having to walk down a pier to a shared bathroom. The deluxe bungalows also had air conditioning which was appreciated as they are floating out on the lake in the sun...not nestled in the jungle.

Don’t hesitate to book your stay at this magical location. You won’t be disappointed!

We bought the 4 day 3 night package with overnight stay on the lake. The staff were lovely and we had a brilliant time from the moment we arrived, being taken on a leisurely canoe trip down the river. We swapped a trip to the hot springs for elephant bathing, which cost a little more.! The overnight stay on the lake was amazing great food and the guide we had was very friendly and funny. Be warned the huts on the lake are basic and its a bit like camping, so if you don't like sharing bathrooms or you need luxury you may want to pick the more expensive trips/huts. Couldn't fault Riverside Cottages however, they are one of the best in the area. .

Now is a great time to travel in Thailand and especially here to the Riverside Cottages. The Team could not have been more friendly and helpful in helping us to get the most out of our few days there, either hiking in the National Park , the Hot-springs or Tubing down river. They organise everything for you and know the best spots to visit whilst there

Rooms are clean and spacious and the garden is amazing to wander and check out some of the most amazing plants from the area.

Food was great and was tempted to get a flask to takeaway of their Margarita Cocktails !! Really recommend a visit and will be going back again very soon I am sure

This resort is all about the experience, not luxury. We booked a 3 day/2 night Rainforest Package and wow, we have so many fantastic memories of our stay. It was jam-packed with activities and was such good value for money - we kayaked down the river the first afternoon, did a night safari hike that evening with knowledgeable guide. On Day 2 we spent a whole day on the utterly stunning Cheow Lan Lake (including a magnificent lunch on the lake and tubing and swimming), and on Day 3 we visited the Rommanee Hot Springs before leaving at midday. The cabins are basic with no aircon, mini fridge or TV but are still fully functional, have hot water, the fan was adequate and the mosquito net was useful (although we did bring some mosquito coils with us for added protection).
The staff were all so lovely but a special mention has to go to Arm and Bee who were both so smiley and helpful. The restaurant has lots of rustic charm being right above the river and the food was really great, so tasty.
I just loved the above ground walkways everywhere so no jungle foliage was damaged or disturbed.
All communication before our stay was so easy and efficient and our pick up from Ao Nang was perfect and cheaper than arranging an Ao Nang taxi to get us there. They also provide a shuttle service into the local town but goodness knows when you'd have time to go there!
If you don't mind forfeiting luxury for rustic charm and a jam-packed experience, then I fully recommend this lovely resort.

Our family of four ( children 10, 12) visited in June 2020. The national park was due to open in July due to COVID. We stayed in a Riverside cottage, with a great view of the river. The accommodation is clean and basic but more than adequate as we were so busy we just needed somewhere to sleep. Nat and her team with our input put together a fabulous 3 days for us. We started with an awesome river tubing including some time at a swimming hole with swing rope and some close up experiences with monkeys along the river. That night the kids had a massage while we went on the night safari. The second day we went on a hike and then cooking class with You and his wife Nat. This is a must if you visit, as you collect all the ingredients on You's farm and then have the freshest Thai meal possible. We followed this up with a visit to the elephant retirement sanctuary and cooked for and swam with Samboon the rescued elephant. Our last morning was a bike tour through the villages and surrounding areas with out guide Paul who was great. The food at the cottages was great with a wide choice at their restaurant. Highly recommend Riverside Cottages.

Hi Rob, It's great to hear from you, and especially exciting to hear the details of your Khao Sok stay without access to the national park. We're really pleased that our staff was able to put together a fantastic itinerary for your family, and that your trip to Khao Sok lived up to its potential, even during the COVID pandemic. Thank you for the shoutout to Yoo and Nat's family farm and jungle cooking activity! We have been working with that great couple for a few years now, and their jungle cooking activity is a favorite among guests. In addition to a unique and educational culinary experience, you've also directly supported a family in the local Khao Sok community! We're very grateful for that support :) Thanks again Rob! We hope that you have enjoyed safe travels since leaving Khao Sok, and that you and your family has managed to avoid the virus as you travel through Thailand. We hope to see you on the Riverside again some day! Best wishes,

Hospitality fantastic. Food both western and Thai surprisingly good for a rainforest.

Plenty to do and excellent value for money.

We came with elderly parents and young kids and all were well catered for including wheelchair access.

Highly recommended

Everything was done with professionalism and charm. It's always lovely to see staff happy and it was great to meet Bodhi, any owner who is so hands on gives the impression of authentic passion.

The front of house staff accommodated everything from out multiple changes of mind, shuttle drop off and pick up, questions prior to arrival and help for our onward travel.

All tours are organised with local guides and after speaking to other travellers were in- keeping with price bar an additional 50bht due to Riverside being slightly further out.

From Riverside we visited the national park, stayed in floating bungalows (and completed a tour here, a night Safari on return, two nights at Riverside in total, free shuttles on request and transfers organised all for £110 per person. Riverside itself is also a beautiful place to stay you are fully immersed in jungle action with bats and insects visiting throughout dinner and animal noises during the evening.

My first review. Thought this place would be closed now due to COVID, but friends stayed here in Sept and said they were doing a great job with COVID stuff and that it still has a great atmosphere in the rainy season. I was there in February. If you want to have a jungly experience this is the best place, for the price and what you get. No TV! Yeah, the Internet is not great, but that's true everywhere (can't blame the hotels!) They can help organize lots of jungle stuff--and fun tubing is right there. Amazing limestone cliffs and old-growth forests.

Hi Ema, The deluxe family room is closest to the river, while the River View rooms are a bit further away. For your vision of relaxing by the river, I'd suggest the deluxe family room. Cheers,
