I just loved this place! Stayed two nights and wished it had been longer. A great place to escape to. It's quiet and I appreciated the spacious cabin, continental breakfast and fresh eggs for breakfast. Location is perfect, with Suffolk Park not too far away for a pint and a meal, (if you didn't fancy driving into Byron Bay). The owners are warm and friendly. If you were going to be picky, you could complain about the lack of cellphone reception, or the odd cobweb on the ceiling, but the positives far outweigh the negatives. If you want lovely accommodation and peace and quiet at an affordable price, this is the place to stay.

Woke up to bird song and the breeze in the trees. Fresh laid eggs for brekky. Beautifully landscaped pool. Byron and Lennox close by. Warm, caring hosts. Mattress comfy with a good night's sleep. Our own BBQ. Lovely accommodation. Great rate. Heaven.

I stayed at Bundaleer Retreat with my girlfriend, my first time in Byron Bay & definately won't be my last.
David from Bundaleer Retreat offered us the most hospitable & friendliest service which made us feel so welcome as he treated us like family!
Already planning a return to Bundaleer & highly recommend it!

This was my first stay at Bundaleer Retreat at Broken Head. I was looking for a comfortable place to spend nights over Easter as I was attending BluesFest. I wasn't disappointed. If you're not familiar with the area, finding Broken Head Rd can be difficult particularly as the main road between Lennox Head and Suffolk Park is open road. Word of caution, wotif.com shows that wifi is available. The Retreat doesn't provide wifi. Mobile coverage is almost non-existent from the room, although you can get a bar or two from the pool area.

Two of the cabins are relatively close to the main road. The road noise wasn't so noticeable, particularly in the evening.

The hosts are very friendly and only too happy to help if its needed. The pool is a great place to laze around.

All in all, this was a comfortable place to stay. Very peaceful.

We gor ripped off here from the first day we got there. I booked this place for my parents who were visiting us in Australia. Exedentely I booked one day too much, so I called them imediately and told them my mistake. They sayed it was no problem and they'd give us the money back...we never saw the money again. The son of the properties owner is a very smart broker, so he simply said there is no refund. He also made us pay 40 $ a day just for visiting my parents and parking at their property. We had a motorhome that time. There is also no internet as is mentioned on the homepage. There is lots of mossies as well...and there is NO cooking facilities...just a microwave, but no stove. It's also a 15 minute drive to Byron Bay and pretty remote. The place is ok, but far too expensive for what they offer...plus you might end up and pay extra if you get to meet the son. There is far better options in Byron area.

Very relaxing retreat! Dave, the owner, cares very much about his country hotel and it shows. Everything is very well maintained and the location is ideal for Lennox Heads and Broken Head beaches. A few mozzies around but the screens worked well. Lovely pool and beautiful surrounds. Thank you!

Resided there for 9 nights and was greeted with such a warm welcome by Dave and his lovely wife. They were extremely accommodating and couldn't ask for a more friendlier vibe and atmosphere. The retreat itself was AMAZING!!! A mate and I stayed in one of the cabins and there were many others segregated from each other for privacy and peace, all ranging in different sizes for families and couples. Palm trees and lush greens, a beautiful pool with a bbq to wine and dine at, tranquility and peace, and you get what you came there for- RELAXATION and complete ZEN. Its perfectly located between lennox head and byron bay so there was alot to do during the day and it was great coming back at night just listening to the sounds of nature out on the deck. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and will definitely be going back!!! THANKS BUNDALEER RETREAT! you lived up to my expectations!

Lovely stay away from Byron craziness. Close to Lennox Heads, and Byron only 10-15 mins down the road. As other reviewers have said no wifi but for us this wasn't an issue, we really wanted a break with NO technology :-) Bungalows may be hot at Christmas ( I think mossies could be an issue) but we stayed during Sept school hols so no problems. Pool area great, nice deck to cook a bbq. The owner was great, we felt very welcome, but again there was privacy and space to do our own thing. We are definitely coming back again with friends.

Loved this place so much we went back there 5 days later for another stay. Great bungalows, big beds, lovely showers and bath tubs, peaceful calming environment and the best drinking water Ive had in Oz. All rolled together in a very very warm welcome and only 5/10 mins from Byron. Perfect.

Just had our very first stay at bundaleer retreat, we stayed for 3 nights. Price was very reasonable and in addition there was a welcome basket on arrival which was a lovely touch and very unexpected. The location was perfect for us as we had a car and only being 10 mins to lennex or byron made it ideal. The owner was warm, welcoming and very accommodating but equally left us to do our own thing but we always new he was close by if we needed him. The room we stayed in was spacious for a couple or a small family. There was no oven but how ever there was a electric hot plate, a awesome webber bbq and a microwave. There was a flat screen tv with a dvd player and a selection of dvds to watch. A tip if your planning to stay, either bring some dvds or a usb with movies on it as the tv has a usb port. The pool area is nice and open with a great entertainment area including a fridge, stereo, bbq and a big esky just incase the fridge gets full. We recommend this place to people looking for peace abd quiet and a enjoyable holiday close to beaches but away from the party population. Will definitely return with some friends.

"We were in one of the side cabins and there is plenty of privacy! You do tend to get many mozzies but there are fly screen doors, a little bit of off spray and you don't even notice :) Another review complained about how you could see and hear cars driving past, but you barely notice or hear any cars. It was very relaxing sitting on the verandah having a bbq and nice and spacious inside."
