We love this place and have recommended this to many friends and family. Peter and Helen are fantastic hosts and do go the extra mile with their service / presentation of the property. The only disappointment I could say about this place is:

Helen's inflexibility bordering on snooty rudeness that has happened with ourselves 3 times and 2 groups of friends. However not enough to turn us away from this beautiful little paradise but I could see it a turn off for many.

We have stayed in all 3 rooms available and all are great but this needs to be said and hopefully will be taken by Helen as constructive criticism. We pay we should be able to use the spa every night if we want and not be lectured on water conservation, we should not be told off about just bringing a few bags of munchies / chips into our room its not as if we are cooking a banquet behind your back. No children are allowed here and we are fine with that but please don't treat your "paying" guests like children.

Response from SojournatByron, Owner at Sojourn at Byron
Responded 31 May 2012
Sojourn at Byron guest rooms each have spa baths. One is huge, like a small pool. One guest (still to come) wants this room, I believe as it has a separate shower. Because we have flooding at the bottom of our property I tried to persuade this guest to use another room so there would be less water going into our water system. They insist on this room and then write an inaccurate review on Trip Advisor. There are 2 other guest rooms available when these guests are to stay. No guest has ever been asked not to use a spa. Snacks are provided in rooms which are often "chips". No one has ever been told not to have chips in their rooms. Because of our particular licence guests are advised that meal preparation is not permitted in rooms. Regards being "snooty" I am totally unaware of my attitude in this regard. Perhaps some people do not like any conditions on staying here. I apologise if may attitude has not been as it should be.

We spent the last 3 nights of a 6 night stay in the Byron Bay Area at Sojourn and wished that we had spent the whole 6 nights there! The accommodation was first class, the bed amazingly comfortable and the surrounding area beautifully quiet - ideal for a relaxing get away from city life.
Helen and Peter were very welcoming while not overly intrusive, and the breakfasts were spot on.

Stay of five days, we were welcomed by Helen, who has a natural very matter of fact style. This mellowed after a couple of days. The initial enquiry was answered by Peter, who was quite aloof on the phone with a couldn't care less attitude stating that's my wife's business! Not a good start however that's history.

The house is contemporary in a nineties style, living in a Hof design ourselves we were keen to see it after viewing the online visuals, which enhance the property, pool & gardens way beyond reality, that's marketing...

So that's the negatives, the plus points are the location, far enough to from Byron Bay which is like a hippy commune teeming with dropouts of all descriptions, with the interior countryside close to hand, we loved the area away from Byron.

Our room the King pool was a reasonable size with a good bathroom that had an over bath shower that made it impossible not to flood the floor or bath surround and all the blinds, quite strange. The bed was comfortable with quality linen that was regularly changed.

Breakfast was taken on the patio/veranda on uncomfortable chairs & tables too small to take the breakfast. Breakfast was freshly cooked/prepared of good quality and varied. Inside the from the patio was the large guest lounge which was inviting & comfortable, copious reading matter was available to allow trip planning a lovely place to relax after a long day.

Helen, gave invaluable info on the area, which was lovely.

Thank you Helen and Peter for your hospitality, we could not have found a better place to stay for our 6 night holiday. Everything about your beautiful place was fantastic. Helen you were a delight, very friendly but gave us our space, your food was fabulous and the presentation of the food was first rate. I cannot recommend your place highly enough and will definitely tell all our friends about you, and if we ever come back this way we will certainly come back and stay. (Loved our little chats).

We had the best stay at Sojourn B&B - just outside Byron Bay. The hosts gave the most amazing efforts to the smallest of details - noticeable in every aspect of the stay. The breakfast was better than many I've had in Sydney - so much of the fare being sourced from the local growers. Gorgeous rooms, beautiful surrounds - definitely a must.

Wow, what an place to stay. We loved every minute here. Sojourn has amazing views, comfortable, spacious, clean rooms, a super relaxing infinity pool and a cute little pup named Barry. Helen & Peter were the perfect hosts, warm, kind & helpful, but left us to our own devices most of the time. The breakfasts were amazing, not to mention Helen's homemade biscuits - yum. It was the ideal getaway and place to really unwind. It's only a few minutes drive into Byron town and quite nice to be out of the hustle & bustle. We couldn't recommend Sojourn more highly.

We booked Sojourn in a hurry when we had a opportunity to take a break from work and get away to Byron. We had a lovely stay, the room was very luxurious, the surrounds and pool perfect for relaxation, and the food for breakfast was lovely. Helen made a big effort to make sure we were comfortable, and to top it all off, posted my bracelet to us after my wife left it behind. A lovely place and we highly recommend it.
