Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This resort was super! the room (801, deluxe) was astonishing, very big room, super clean, close to all the services of the resort (restaraunts, theatre, beach), the bathroom was huge and beautiful, full of mirrors, big shower and even a yacuzzi!
All the people that stayed at the resort had full all inclusive (breakfast, lunch, dinner and some snacks during the day at the bar serengeti), outside the all inculsive you have to pay only for expresso coffee and some imported liquors. The main restaurant called Bongoman was beautiful and everyone was kind, full of choiches to eat, they serve the drinks at the table (wine, beer, water, cocacola). The animators were young and funny, good entertainement in the evening. I didn't visited the pool because it was far from the beach.
The beach was huge, the only problem was the presence of many beach boys and masai that wanted to take money from you (they sell excursions or souvenirs), i suggest to buy the excursions directly from the resort (alpitour people like Wi and Leo were very helpful about that) and the prices are not very different from beach boys but you have more security with the resort guides. We visited: Jozani forest (red monkeys), Baraka acquarium (bath with turtle), Nakupenda (snorkeling, sand bank and prison island with giant tortoises), Safari blu (Menai bay, sand bank, blue lagoon, snorkeling), Mnemba (dolphin tour and snorkeling). I had a very beautiful stay! I wish to return here one day.

The hotel is quite and has amazing view, they also have a restaurant by the beach with Indian Ocean view only for serving seafood dishes with maximum number of people aloud to be there.

The have rooms designed in a sultan building or Arabic way with the restaurant and bar where they save dinner and lunch to guests.

They have an enormous place with beach beds for relaxing during the day for those ocean lovers as well.

I really loved the place for honeymooners I will recommend here.

Staffs are friendly too and ready to share details when approached.

Everything about this resort is amazing. Alnoor and Shaida go out of their way to ensure fantastic customer service, amazing rooms, the best spa there is and the food and views were fantastic!

All the rooms whether the larger family rooms or the more compact rooms had a luxurious feel to it. The facilities in the room were all great too.

The restaurant in the hotel was really good and the waiters were very professional (exceptionally) and the Saturday local music band was amazing. The location is nice.

The service has major issues:
1. The reception area is very hot during the day.
2. They tried to charge me for an upgrade but when I said I booking.com genius level three which comes with free upgrade, they said there is no availability for upgrades.
3. They did not provide a key for the safe. 4. One of the staff (Matteo) wanted to show me another room, so he requested the security to stop me from leaving the hotel until he speaks to me.
5. Once the cleaners left my room unlocked (without an operational safe). 6. When I tried to check out and point out this issues, they send me the owner's son (a position which I have never heard of in modern hospitality). The owner's son told a lot of unprofessional nonsense.

Hotel was nice, breakfast was good. The pool
Could do with some work. The issue is most people are all inclusive so when you go out for dinner/drinks they’re already done. Wasn’t unusual to be the only people in the bar/a la carte restaurant on an evening which ruined our stay a bit.

Our stay at this hotel was amazing.
The most beautiful private beach in the bay.
Hygiene is impeccable, the cleaning ladies are very pleasant and have an eye for detail.
The restaurant is excellent and the service is impeccable.
The hotel reception service is perfect day and night. They answer at all hours and are very attentive. We were two girlfriends and we felt safe and well so much so that we chose to extend our stay in this hotel.
I would like to point out that my friend left her precious jewels at the hotel and they sent them back to us in France. I highly recommend this hotel and I see great human qualities there.

Please be aware, this hotel has an Italian DJ playing very loud music and screaming from the top of his lungs till early hours of the morning. He also performs some sort of DJing combined with the hotel services advertisement in the afternoons - very loud and invasive. When asked to turn the sound down late at night - completely ignored the request. If you’re looking for peaceful, restful stay and good sleep, this is not a place for you. Avoid!

I visited the resort as a part of a trip hosted by YachtWeekEA/ Yacht Week East Africa. The accommodations were low quality. Part of that was our host booking the lowest rooms and the hotel being sold out, and seemingly still outdated and under renovations . I did upgrade to Island 1 at my expense. The room has a leaky sink in the right bathroom. The porch light and ceiling fan was inoperable. Traveling with YachtWeekEA/ Yacht Week East Africa was a nightmare. They did not communicate well. They knew nothing before it happened so we couldn’t prepare and our accommodations were subpar.

Can't say I enjoyed may stay here, although the location is great. I experienced the same problem as a previous reviewer with currency conversion when trying to pay the bill using cash. They insisted the US dollars were converted to Canadian dollars (the owners now reside in Canada but are locals) before that got converted to Tanzania shillings. Absolute robbery, this place deserves to go bankrupt for sharp practice like that.

Couple this with the fact that they are charging exclusive resort prices for a 3* experience, a creepy restaurant manager that indicated he would like to have a homosexual liaison, no free bottled water in the room - not one little bottle in a country where you dare not touch the tap water! This resort sucks and it does so as a result of owner and management policy. I even had to step over a dog turd when I walked past the manager talking to a couple of members of staff on the narrow path to the beach between the final row of huts. Of course, you would expect that the offending faecal matter would have been removed 5 hours later, wouldn't you? After all, it was on the main route to the beach that just about everyone had to use and the management could not have failed to see it. Of course, you'd be wrong. It was still there 5 hours later - sums the place up, really.

The ordinary staff that work there were very nice and I feel sorry for them having to work at such place.

I could write a really long review of this place but it doesn't deserve the effort. I'll just say Do Not Stay Here. If you decide to ignore that advice good luck.
