Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

Detailed Reviews
I was recently on a working holiday in the Queenstown lakes area, and booked in to the Kingston Top 10 holiday park with the intention of staying in one of their brand new cabins for a couple of weeks. I loved it so much I ended up staying the full 10 weeks of my time in the South Island! This holiday park is small, but loaded with character. Lots of cute cabins sprinkled around, a small stream runs through the middle and a lot of the facilities are brand new and of the highest standard. The older facilities are sparkling clean, and there are plans to upgrade these as well. Management were always extremely friendly and helpful. All in all one of the best campgrounds I have been to.

Kingston is a little gem at the end of Lake Wakatipu. The camp ground is only a couple of minutes walk to either of the two cafes in town and the lake. The accomodation was clean and tidy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Loved it

+1
The park has beautiful facilities - brand new kitchen, lounge, seating area, and showers with great water pressure.
If it was not for being so close to the noisy highway, it would have been a perfect stay.
Also, park management did not seem to enforce the quiet time after 10pm, which resulted in our neighbours running their vehicles and slamming their doors way into midnight. We had to go out ourselves and tell them to be quiet but that did not seem to help.

A fabulous modern camping ground at the tip of Lake Wakitipu with beautiful scenery and a warm welcome. The owners gave us an amazing service that even included electric blankets on the beds to cater for very cold winter temperatures. It was a joy to have stayed here.

While the log cabins would be lovely during warm weather, our stay in the middle of winter was a chilly and unpleasant experience. Although the small wall heater was already turned on when we arrived and the room was pleasant enough then, in the evening we were very cold and the only way to keep warm was to climb into bed. Fortunately there is adequate bedding, but the addition of an electric blanket or additional heater would have made our stay far more pleasant.

Won't be going back. The man at the counter was rude and made me feel unwelcome. They had all their sites booked out online but when I rang they said they have sites available. Got there and the guy didn't know I had rang and almost was not going to let us stay until I mentioned I had rang. There were plenty of spots available unsure as to why they were all booked out online.

Hi Shannon, We apologise that you felt unwelcome on your arrival. Due to some staff having Covid and unable to work, management had to block sites to try and manage the day to day operation of the park. This is the reason why you could not book online. Kind regards Kingston TOP 10

Beautiful place to stay. Many and varied top class facilities in an immaculately kept property and managed by the friendliest people you could ever meet. Just parked and settled in when one of the managers, Jono turned up for a chat and a big bag of the most delicious cherries we have ever eaten. 100% recommend stopping here on your trip

We then quickly changed our minds when we saw our very clean and tidy room, the shared kitchen/dining facilities were excellent and well maintained - all very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and recommended a great little café across the road. Hubby enjoyed an amazing all day breakfast. For the price we paid, we would definitely recommend staying here if you want a cosy room on a budget. Nice stopover on the way to Te Anau or Milford Sound (or Queenstown).

Lots of construction and renovation happening. Will be amazing when finished but at the moment the fees are way too high when having to navigate construction fences when driving camper van and facilities are insufficient for size of site. Only two showers and three toilets in women’s bathroom. Laundry was terrible - only 2 machines with no space to put your load down while wait your turn. Only one dryer that kept tripping the fuse and required staff member to come and fix every time. Disappointed.

Hi Inda2, Thank you for staying at Kingston TOP 10 Holiday Park. We are sorry to read that you had such a poor experience, as many other guests recently have given us positive feedback. Yes, we are currently under construction which we advertise online and on the phone - as we are a new addition to the TOP 10 Group. As many people who stay with us are aware, we do need to make these upgrades over the next year so we are up to speed, modern, construction free in the very near future. We also have plans set to upgrade our amount of showers and putting in a new laundry this year. We now run an additional (no coins) dryer in the laundry, due to the electrical fault/tripping issue which we are trying to sort. Hopefully in the future you will come back and enjoy all our new upgrades and facilites - construction zone free. Regards, Lenny (Owner) Kingston TOP 10 Holiday Park
