Love this place. We had lunch in the refreshed restaurant space Te Akau Roa. Has a lovely te ao Māori vibe. The food was freshly made (when was the last time you had freshly made hollandaise on your eggs bene?). Try the smoked mussels and smoked salmon both made in house. The rooms are pleasant with everything you need. The local market was on the weekend we stayed. The staff in this hotel and restaurant were lovely. Recommend you come stay here whānau!

If you live in the states or have stayed in a Quality Inn in the US, you are aware that they are far from quality. This hotel however exceeded expectations.
I spent the day diving the Poor Knights. The dive shop had recommended I stay here, being convenient is an understatement.
I booked through booking.com, I’m not sure if other methods offer a cheaper rate - I have noticed with other accommodations that booking.com adds a charge that may not exist if booking direct.
Easy to find, good signage and had open spaces in the parking lot upon arrival. The staff at the front desk both checking in and checking out were wonderful. Very personable and friendly.
My room was perfect. Incredibly spacious. Gorgeous view of the marina. The sunset and sunrise were picturesque. I was awed when I opened the door and it confirmed I made the right choice about my stay.
The bathroom is also spacious, good shower pressure and hot water. The bed was comfortable and I slept like a rock.
Brekky starts downstairs at 7 am. It is not included in the nightly rate but was tastey. I had to be at the dive shop at 8, I arrived downstairs around 720 and still had enough time to eat the oats, pastry and drink a coffee.
I would stay again and recommend for your stay.

We had a most enjoyable stay here. As we walked into the newly refurbished room, the view of the marina was stunning. The room was clean and well set out. I liked the fact that there was a desk area to catch up with office work. The king sized bed, I found a little hard, but that is my personal taste. This hotel is trying to do its bit for the environment with large shampoo, conditioner and body wash where they used to have small plastic containers. I also noted the split rubbish bins which have space for rubbish and the other side for recycling. Good to see the effort being put in. We enjoyed cocktails in the bar, desserts after eating out, but the piece de resistance was the Wahi breakfast, in the restaurant on our final day. It was one of the best 'big breakfasts' that I have had. I particularly liked the mushrooms. Regarding the facilities-Although we didn't get to use the pool or gym, it is worth noting that you can also access beauty treatments e.g. massage, at the hotel. The beauty therapist uses a room in the hotel. Had we stayed longer, we would have tried these facilities. The book exchange in the hotel foyer was a nice touch too. An enjoyable couple of days in a sunny spot.

Very impressed! We got a 2 bedroom apartment on 1st floor 106 facing the rear (so no marina view but compensation was a HUGE deck area and a bit of a bushy outlook). Apartment was really big - bigger than my house lol. 2 bathrooms a laundry big lounge full perfect kitchen. Very quiet. Couldn’t hear neighbours at all. Very nice staff. Left my kindle and they are posting it to me. Restaurant is closed so made own breakfast and had dinner watching rugby at the anglers club bar. I really recommend the 2 bedroom apartment - it was really fresh and clean and so spacious. Will definitely be back for 2 nights this time!

The warmth and friendly service from the staff at Oceans is memorable. Besides offering clean, spacious and very comfortable rooms, the people who work there go above and beyond to ensure their guests are well cared for. I stayed here several years ago and recall the same wonderful experience. This hotel is not to be missed because Tutukaka itself is gem of a place, and Oceans is the icing on the cake.

As a family of three, including our energetic 3-year-old, our stay at this hotel was fantastic. The clean and comfortable room, friendly reception, and surprisingly comfortable sofa bed all contributed to a positive experience. The room's brightness and nice view were appreciated, and the added bonus of a quiet atmosphere made it an ideal choice for our family. Highly recommend for families looking for a relaxing stay!

We had planned on coming up to Tutukaka previously but never had the opportunity, but with border restrictions due to COVID-19 we booked in for a couple of nights after Christmas. The hotel seems to be made up of hotel rooms and privately owned apartments most of which look out onto the marina and Tutukaka bay. As it was just a couple of nights we chose a hotel room which was comfortable and spacious. Oceans has a restaurant, Waihi where we enjoyed coffee and good cooked breakfasts. Tutukaka is a very short drive from several great little beaches.

A tired, unloved and unkept hotel that is sadly way past its prime. I get the feeling that the hotel has had zero investment in upkeep for several years. It outside is dirty and needs a good water blaster over the walls to wash away the black clumps and insect nests. The insides need a real clean including the mold on the ceiling fans. Carpets are horrible to walk on – threadbare. Sadly, there is not much choice in Tutukaka otherwise this hotel would be out of business.

This colourful waterfront property offers everything you need. The large room with good bed had a safe, a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, a heat pump and panel heater. Half the resort get sea views of the marina and there is plenty of car parking. Bonus’s are the on site restaurant and bar “Wahi” and the salt water pool and out door BBQ. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming.

A good place to stay if you are diving or just touring around the North Island. The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. Parking is free and you have good access to the marina. There is a restaurant on the ground floor that serves, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
