After having motelled our way around NZ, I can safely say this was the best presented and equipped motel. Clean, immaculately repainted, great shower with modern fittings, spacious and, unlike us if you are prepared to pay for the view, the view will be grand. If there is a downside it is the speed of traffic in the village. Don't let the kids or granddaddies wander on the road.

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst diving at Tutukaka. The owners here, Maurice and Sonia, were very welcoming and well informed- they had maps and all the local knowledge. There was good space to park the car. The studio was spotless and well equipped. A fabulous place to stay right across from the beach and we can’t wait to go back there.

The name Motel can be a bit off putting but this is definitely an exception. Situated on the main road overlooking the beautiful beaches it would be difficult to criticize. The apartment is immaculate, spacious and all at a really reasonable cost. It consists of a sitting room, bedroom with a double and single bed. Kitchen, fully equipped and a good size bathroom and shower. Very strongly recommended.
