Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

For $136 a night, this place is horrendously overpriced. Everything in the room is old, the cleanliness was poor. I had hair on my bathroom sink and the bathroom floor looked dirty like the tiles needed to be water blasted. My cutlery still had food on it and the mini fridge was very noisy when trying to sleep. I stayed here to save time driving to Dunedin Airport for an early morning flight but it’s definitely more worth it just travelling the extra distance than staying a night here.

We stayed so we could visit our youngest granddaughter when she was born. Our little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was welcomed too. He has his own enclosure and is accustomed to staying with us in motels. Check in: was easy, the host has a good sense of humour. Bed: super king, extremely comfortable. Spa bath: took ages to fill but was so good to use. Fridge: excellent size, bigger than most so we were pleasantly surprised. Cooking facilities: Microwave, toaster and electric jug, electric fry pan. Great variety of utensils and quality dinnerware. Shower(over bath): amazing water pressure. Recommendations (if I'm being really picky): Bath or shower gel as well as soap would have been nice. Towel rail could be bigger. Like I said, really picky; that's all I can think of! We will return next time we visit baby Charlotte.

Had a great stay here. Nice room, very comfortable bed, excellent shower (although bathrooms floods a little but worth it for the nice shower pressure!). Owners are the friendliest people you'll meet and absolutely go out of their way to help!! If staying in Mosgiel the location is great (everything is walking distance in Mosgiel). Only 10mins by car on the motorway to the centre of Dunedin. Motel had laundry amenities (communal at a charge but reasonable) which was very helpful. Parking outside the rooms. Heating in the rooms and electric blankets as well as good kitchen amenities.

Had two separate units to acommodate two families travelling together. Worked well. Friendly staff, helpful too. Would stay here again. Within walking distance to town/supermarket. Although on main road no traffic noise.

This motel has great potential! Bed was comfortable, good array of kitchen equipment. The couch... wasn't so great, low and uncomfortable, and the shower flooded the bathroom. I understand the motel is being done up though and the owners haven't been there long. I'd stay again.

Very obliging owners had no problem accommodating our late arrival and their managers later juggled bookings to allow us (3 adults) to extend our stay without the need to change rooms. This was much appreciated. The unit was spotless and the location is great - handy to the local shops and a short commute to Dunedin. Will be back again when Uni starts.

My partner and I booked for 3 nights and then extended for another night. Great value for money. Rooms spacious and well equiped with kitchenette. Very convenient to Duneden and airport. Plenty of good food places near by and two good supermarkets short drive away. Would come back if in the area.

Ive been staying here for 5 Night so far and I am extremely happy . Sharon and Rob have been lovely people and made me feel very welcome staying here . I have certain medical needs and they have been wonderfull in making my stay great. I had my little dog staying here as well and they where more then happy to have him . The rooms are nice and well spaced and the grounds are nice and well maintained . The rooms have everything you need in them IE cups , forks etc . The bathroom is tidy and the shower was great . Very powerful shower. The owners are lovely and very kind and friendly . I was in room 6 down the back . Its a older room but was put in here because I had my dog with me which was fine . Was very quite and peaceful . I would gladly stay here again and I highly recommended staying here if your in Mosgiel .
