Detailed Reviews
We had flown in to Dunedin airport late in the afternoon and wanted accommodation on the southern side of Dunedin and researching found Bonnie Knights It was a lovely looking motel with well maintained surrounds. It was excellent for the price. Room was clean, beds were comfortable and while close to the main road in, we did not find it noisy. it was close to a lovely pub restaurant.

Friendly staff and pet turtle! Close to airport. Heaters and electric blankets means a nice warm stay. Good off street parking. Nice family room with double bed and single bed. Awesome shower pressure, but water goes all over floor (not a problem for me, I'll take good shower pressure and put up with wet tiles any day!)

We spent a night at this small motel. The unit was clean, comfortable and obviously well maintained. We had all comforts and facilities for basic cooking and good sleep. It was very quiet. The reception was warm, friendly and helpful.Complimentary tea, coffee and cocoa and we enjoyed the unexpected plunger coffee. The bed was a little tired but still OK for a goodnight. Heating, TV and bathroom were all good.

For $136 a night, this place is horrendously overpriced. Everything in the room is old, the cleanliness was poor. I had hair on my bathroom sink and the bathroom floor looked dirty like the tiles needed to be water blasted. My cutlery still had food on it and the mini fridge was very noisy when trying to sleep. I stayed here to save time driving to Dunedin Airport for an early morning flight but it’s definitely more worth it just travelling the extra distance than staying a night here.

Motel unit where clean, tidy, I was a bit worried being close to the main road about the noise, but not at all, super quiet, didn't hear the road noise once at all. Check in was speedy and staff super friendly. Great information booklets in the rooms about the area (attractions & eateries)
Only negative was the shower leaked water under the shower door and the silicon & grout in shower had gone a funny brown icky colour.
Would definitely stay again though.

Outside Dunedin in Mosgiel...quiet and very clean. About a ten minute drive to the heart of Dunedin (home of the Bacon Buttie Station...woo!).
Room was spacious and cosy, and kids room bigger than all the others we visited in our 2 week tour of NZ.
We left a wallet behind and the staff at Bonnie Knights were onto us asap and were very helpful in arranging for it to be sent back.
Would recommend this motel to visitors to Dunedin!

Second time been here and yet again good sized clean unit, friendly staff. Great location. Breakfast choice good value for $$ - $11 for cereal, fruit, toast, juice - they have cooked breakfast option to, but the previous is delivered to room night before for you to 'toast' etc. And appreciated the added value (won't say what here in case sets up expectations) - but there was that great kiwi quality style to this stay. No hesitation in recommending.

All we asked for and more. We had a very spacious motel unit with all amenities. Studio style downstairs and two upstairs bedrooms. Good functional bathroom and kitchen. Unit was easy to warm and very clean. Friendly owners who were very helpful and a bonus having a resident taxi on site. Location was good for the conference we were attending over the weekend.

Bonnie Knights is located on a busy road from Mosgiel to Dunedin. Dunedin is 10 minutes away on the southern motorway. Our unit was quiet and comfortable. The unit was warm when we arrived and was nice and cosy on a cold, frosty night. The beds were comfortable and every thing was spotlessly clean. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The shops are several kilometers away. We found the local garage which was a few hundred meters down the street to be well stocked with milk, coffee and hot food. The price was great for 3 adults. The TV could be updated to a flat screen.

This motel has great potential!
Bed was comfortable, good array of kitchen equipment. The couch... wasn't so great, low and uncomfortable, and the shower flooded the bathroom.
I understand the motel is being done up though and the owners haven't been there long. I'd stay again.
