Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We love camping here. We can sit back at the campsite, which is very spacious, and enjoy the sound of the native bush or we can explore some of the walking tracks. The swimming hole is excellent but if you don’t swim it is just as nice walking along the river bank. With the hills as a backdrop it is very picturesque and it is so peaceful that it is easy to forget you are less than an hour away from Christchurch.

The park and the facilities are kept clean and well maintained. Every time we go there something new has been done to improve the experience for the campers. The hosts and all the staff that you come in contact with during your stay are very welcoming.

We love the fact that the campground is safe for young families and it is great to see the children able to ride around on their bikes safely. There is always plenty for them to do and they have a great time with the playground at the camp and then another one in the reserve. There is so much space here you can’t help but have a good time. We only wish we had more time to stay.

Such a lot to love about this place,Green grass, gorgeous leafy trees, colorful toilet doors, hot water in the shower and flowers in the kitchen.Oh and the herbs in the garden. The chives on my scrambled eggs were perfect.

Had friends up for a day and they loved it too.

Such a super spot w,so many shades of green to see where ever you looked.

Did think a little pricey,$44 a night including token for showers. How about a discount for MCANZ members.?

The Sandhills are a little annoying although when walking the bush walk and moving they didn't seem so bad.
It is a it of a pain to find one in my wine glass!!.

Shame we didn't catch any fish but it was fun trying.

Thanks again for a great few days.
Regards Vicki and Bill

Hi Vicki & Bill & thank you for your review. We agree, this time of year is certainly beautiful and I am glad you made use of our salad gardens. Sandflys certainly enjoy being out in this current humid cloudy weather & nothing worse than one floating in your wineglass :) . We hope to see you again soon. Cheers Sally & Wayne

Stayed here 2 nights over Christmas and what a break! The grounds are immaculate and the owners so incredibly friendly and welcoming. You could see them working hard to make sure the place was tidy, even over the festive period. Shop was even open Christmas Day so I could get some treats... totally unexpected. The facilities have been painted recently and are pristine. They even did a fire pit for marshmallows on Christmas Day. There’s also a great river to paddle in. It’s easily the best campsite near to Christchurch. I work in a hotel in Christchurch and I will be recommending it to absolutely everybody arriving in on a camping/campervan trip!

Thanks so much for a wonderful stay, I can’t wait to visit again!

This was our 4th stay and it never stops amazing me. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The park is clean and the pitches are a great size. The owners keep the grounds immaculately tidy and well groomed. Yip the bathroom facilities are dates but they are top notch. The only fault and its nothing to do with the camp its self are the biters. Take your insect repellent. The walks, the river and all the surrounds are spectacular. Cant wait to go again.

This is the loveliest park we’ve stayed in our Motorhome. Lovely hosts, impeccably clean facilities and beautiful grassy private sites. Wonderful for families as it’s safe and fun. Pretty drive to get here too and only 50mins to Christchurch.

We stayed here for one night but could have easily stayed longer. Beautiful and green camp ground. Clean kitchen and dining area. Spacious shower (and a place to put my toiletries) in the female bathroom which is always such a bonus. It was a quiet and relaxing way to end our trip. Thanks.

Wanting a relaxing, peaceful retreat with hassle free packing? Look no further than the Pod. We booked the Pod for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Sally (our host), was very welcoming and friendly and we came away totally recharged. All camping facilities were clean and well maintained, with some lovely personal touches added.
Totally recommend a visit, and we will definitely be back. Thanks guys.

What a gorgeous little gem! We came here after 2 days of pouring rain, and even though it kept coming down the place was a breath of fresh air. Such a gorgeous outlook and lota of open spaces for the kids to explore. When we woke up and the sun was out it was like we had hit the jackpot, such a great little find!

What a absolutely lovely spot. Great hosts. Very clean and tidy. We were so impressed with this park that we ended up spending two nights. Highly recommend, for our stay we had a option to select our own site, the park is beautiful with clearly marked areas and it was super quiet. Thanks for making our final two campervan nights peaceful and enjoyable.
