Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We’ve just spent our first night at the Ashley Gorge holiday park and we’ll be back. It’s in a beautiful position with super friendly staff and immaculate facilities. There’s plenty of space, lots of shade, activities for the kids and even a salad garden for campers use. The river is clean and safe for young kids and there are great walks nearby. Thanks for a fab stay!

What a lovely weekend stay. We stayed in the pod which is a small, wooden cabin nestled away in the bush above the holiday park. Beautiful setting, sheltered from the wind. Plenty of blankets to keep the chill at bay. Facilities were spotless (as you would hope during these times!). Friendly staff who made us feel very welcome.

Wouldn't hesitate to come again. Thanks for a great stay.

Hi Matt. Thanks for being one of the first guests to come out and finally burst our bubble. :) Glad you got your night in before it really starts to get cold. Happy to hear you were both warm and cosy enough. Thank you for taking the time to review us...much appreciated. Warm regards Sally

Camp was very quiet just our family and my brother and child who booked cabin next door. Owners were lovely Michelle opened up the kitchen for our 2 night stay. Cabins nice a clean warm and comfy. Lots of nature walks around to do awesome wee fairy door garden for kids. Play ground. Will definitely be back again. Left some things behind and they were quick to let me know and arrange getting them back. Thank you

We came here for our first trip with our caravan. Lovely spot with trees, grass sites and river close by. Lots of things for kids to do. Bush walks. Good facilities, but you need to purchase coins for the showers from the camp office. Will be back with family.

This was a well cared for and well run holiday park in a beautiful part of Canterbury.
Everything was clean and well maintained.
The owners were really friendly and helpful.
Close to Ashley Gorge (which is awesome for children) and many great walks near by.

WE spent one night at this campsite in our campervan. The owners were very kind helpful and friendly. The campsite was beneath a beautiful mountain with fabulous green surroundings. Near was a river and holiday makers were having fun swimming and splashing around. The campsite was very well equipped, and the owner was cleaning the toilets and showers at 10pm that evening. They are well aware of recycling and ask people to be careful with water usage as their water supply comes from the river. All in all we had a lovely stay and would definitely return.

We very much enjoyed staying here with our campervan. The people are so friendly and the fields are 3 times bigger than your usual campervan parks. The bathrooms are spacious and clean. Highly recommended!

One of the best campsites on our NZ trip in a camper van requiring power. Sites spread out between hedges and trees. A very tranquil position on the edge of a river surrounded by natural flora. Welcoming, well maintained, clean, uncrowded with excellent facilities and trail walks nearby.

Lovely campsite less than an hours drive from Christchurch. We stopped here after driving Arthur's Pass. Very quiet rural location with only the birds as background noise and a lovely riverside walk close by. Spacious grass pitches. A good last or first night stay if picking up or dropping off a motorhome in Christchurch. Facilities are clean but basic. Do take repellent for Sandflies though - as in many places in NZ and Aus these can be an issue.
