Detailed Reviews
Labour weekend 2020 we booked 5 power sites for our family - a combination of kids and adults. These were plenty big enough for our large caravans campers etc.
This was our first time at this camp ground and we will be back - it was so green and lush , the facilites were spotlessly clean and had everything you could want . We loved the kitchen where table cloths and flowers adorned the tables and had small pottles of local honey we could try. Also a large range of spices and sauces and pots and pans etc we could also use if we needed to.
The swings etc in the trees for the kids and the play equipment were well used. Camp shop was also handy . Very friendly and welcoming staff /owners.. Sandflies were a pain but insect spray and citronella candles worked well. Thankyou so much we can't wait to return .

Hi Noeline So glad the group enjoyed their stay, the weather gods were certainly shining on us that weekend. We spent lock down making new games for the kids & the honey is from some hives we had in the back garden. We do try to give the camp a homely feel. See you all again soon. Cheers Sally

We stayed at Ashley Gorge holiday park and campground with our caravan for 2 nights in late January.
The campground is in an attractive location – surrounded by wooded hills and close to the river for swimming or just relaxing. Many pitches offer decent shade in hot weather, but out of the main summer season, the sun will be hidden behind the high hills early and late in the day.
The site has limited toilet and shower facilities – adequate out of high season, but likely to be overcrowded at busy times. When we were there everything was kept in very clean, good order, with plenty of hot water.
It is a serious drawback that there are no disposal points for “grey” water or portable toilets other than at the campervan service point outside the site entrance gate. This is a long walk with a heavy container from a caravan parked in the main site area.
We were also surprised to find that in the quiet season, arrivals were grouped together in one area, rather than being spread out to take advantage of the many spare pitches. We are a retired couple and happy to be sociable, but it seemed a shame to be surrounded by families with young children in adjacent pitches when there were dozens of empty pitches elsewhere in the campground.

Hi Chris Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. Sorry to hear you didn't like your site, we try to spread our guests out and are always happy for you to choose another site if you are unhappy with your allocated one. January is still our busy season and looking at when you stayed I am unable to see where the dozens of empty sites were as we were still very busy. We have a lot of group bookings (3 or more families who want to be together) around this time of year which explains why guests were 'grouped' together. We are a family campground so there are always lots of children around this time of year & as part of our regulations we have to have enough toilets/showers for the maximum number of guests our park can hold so rest assured these are not overcrowded even when we are at full capacity. The dump station as you mentioned is just outside the main camp gate, not ideal I agree if you are struggling with your waste container however this is the best possible place for it considering the size and layout of our park. We are always here to help & if asked would have gladly helped you with your tank but do thank you for not emptying your grey water out onto your site. Kind Regards Sally

Have lived only 40 minutes away for the past 15yrs and never knew about this place! People say about heading up the Ashley for a swim etc but that was kind of it. Encouraged by a work colleague to stay a night at the Holiday Park - “Everything’s there, toilets/showers/kitchens. Great swimming holes for all abilities, clean clear water. Close to walks and there’s playgrounds on site. Pack a picnic and head upstream, take a lilo/tyre tube/boogie board and float all the way back.”
What she didn’t mention was how family friendly it is, it was a pleasant surprise. So often camping grounds have a small element of ‘the drinking crowds’, those that you are wary of, but not here. The whole place felt very safe, and I was happy for my 12yr olds to explore and just have fun without my constant hovering. If this is the normal standard then we’ll definitely visit again. Love this place.
The attached photo was taken a little upstream, eerie light from the Aussie fire smoke. Beautiful countryside.

Hi Jayne and we wish you had too! We love that you felt relaxed enough to let the kids go off on their adventures without stressing about them. This is exactly the kind of camp we want to own and be known for. This Christmas as with our last 5 here always feels like family coming out to visit. We have a lot of families who come every year and we love to see how much the kids have grown, watch them make new friends etc. We have been busy this last year adding more play equipment & activities in the camp and have plans to add more this year. Both Wayne & I have birthdays over this period and just like any other 'family' our guests always help make our days a little more special. The sun is shining brightly today so once my jobs are done Ash (dog) and I are heading up the river to enjoy that great swimming hole up around the corner. Your only 40 minutes away Jayne so we hope to see you again over summer. Warm Regards Sally, Wayne & Ash

We booked one of the 4 pet friendly powered sites as it was our first time camping with our large dog. The designated area is fantastic! Loads of room (great if you have a larger dog) and with the river just a short 4 minute walk away it's perfect for water crazy pooches! We were fully self contained, however the amenities were always clean and well looked after and the owners super friendly and helpful. Great location close to some awesome bush/forest walks as well.

such a shame that one individual (the new owner) can have such a negative impact on our family stay with friends. The new security cameras everywhere didn't make us feel any safer and in fact they were extremally off putting and way over the top when you have them also hiding in trees spying on people! The setting is beautiful & the cleanliness up there but the management are bullies and mean especially the french owner who must spend all his time looking at the cameras for someone to yell at! If you dont want the picnic tables to be able to be moved from site to site then WHY have wheels on them!!
He also has several large dogs which he drags around in a cage to look intimidating.
We have been frequent visitors over the years and have always enjoyed our previous stays but wont be staying again and we will certainly be telling our friends not to bother. Perhaps a course in customer service would be beneficial!

Have visited this park many many times over years and the work done now by the owners to open it up to the sun, makeing it feel and look so much cleaner is fabulous. Like all places we visit I give as I recieve and so I can say we recieved the best service coupled with a friendly manner and attitude so made it easy for us to reciprocate in the same friendly attitude and manner. After all it's a 2 way street is it not?
Looking forward to manny return visits and more.

My partner and I stayed here for a night and it blew us away. Easily the most beautiful, well equipped camping spot I have ever laid eyes on. Hosts were super friendly and we didn't get attacked by a possum. We're coming back.

Thank you so much Louis! So glad to hear the possum wasn't partying on the roof of the Pod that night. See you soon :)

What a beautiful camp ground. It was our first camping trip with the kids. The camp ground is small but the sides spacious. Lots of play equipment for the kids, a favorite was giant Jenga.
Toilet and kitchens were older, but clean and well serviced. There was even fresh flowers in the mornings, such a lovely touch.
The river is beautiful, and you can hear native birds early in the morning. Heaps of trees and shade.
Yes there were a lot of sandflies but just take insect repellent.
We got there just after Christmas, and it wasn’t that busy, then really started to fill up about 30 December. Would be keen to go back when it isn’t so busy.

Fantastic holiday park
Hosts were very helpful with choosing a quiet site for us
Our site for our camper was very large close to amenities.
The whole camp was very clean and tidy and the toilet, kitchen and shower block were amongst the cleanest of ever seen.
Great wifi available and a good price.
Even the camp volunteers were very helpful and welcoming.
We had a great two night stay and would highly recommend this camp ground.
It's close to Oxford and there's plenty of walks and things to do.
A very family friendly camping ground.
We will certainly be returning
