Detailed Reviews
This hotel is relatively simple but clean with friendly and helpful staff. We stayed for two nights. There is a nice roof terrace where we enjoyed the view with a nice cold beer. There is no elevator but the staff carried the cases so no issue.

The Pulo Alor Hotel greeted us with old fashioned hospitality, a delight after the two flights to get there!
The security boys were literally running up and down the three flights of stairs to deliver our luggage to our rooms, god bless them so make sure to shake their hands and even buy them a bintang for their enthusiasm.
The rooms whilst cooled well with the air con, could do with just a few tweeks, namely a 2nd drain in the bathroom, so that when you walk in there, you dont constantly walk in the puddle of water cascading by the door to get to the drain.
Also a shelf in the shower area would help for your soap and shampoo's, yea I know first world problems, but who doesnt like leaving their soap on a shelf and not on the floor!
And just one other thing, there are no toasters for your brekkie, sooooo, if you reallllllly want toast i would consider buying a cheap toaster in bali and taking it with you, and even leaving it there for them, they might get the idea!
As there is so much to do on and around the island, you really wont be spending time in the hotel except at night, to have a drink with the staff, to eat and to sleep, literally thats all you will be doing there.....sooooo much on offer around the island, you wont want to waste a minute!

We have been staying for six nights with a friend. The hotel is a bit off (for example like 15 min walking to the only restaurant in Kalabahi), but if you have a moto or transport arranged it's no issue. There are two pools, but we didn't try them ... looked OK but not inviting. The rooms are clean, yet not really in best shape sometimes, still I think it's one of the best places to stay in town in terms of what you can get at all. Wifi is available only at reception and it was a hell - terribly slow, failing all the time and not working often. Breakfast left as with mixed feelings, definitely unimpressive. Service was fine on the other hand, very helpful and engaged.

For those who come to Alor often for business, you might be aware of the fact that this could be the only hotel in town with wifi provided.
I was overjoyed when I learned that the hotel was opened last April. During the first stay, I couldn't use the internet because it was really not working well. But they fixed it the second time I arrived.
I was always greeted with great hospitality. Free shuttle ride from the airport is a big plus.
The staff is very helpful. One of them speaks very good English. During my first stay, I was placed on the second floor where I could not use the internet and as soon as I asked if I could changed the room, it was done immediately without any fuss. Very professional.
Breakfast is quite okay and come early coz the food runs out fast.
The price range though can be a bit surprising for someone staying in Indonesia for the first time. But if you come to Indonesia often enough, you'll find out that the more remote the place is, the more expensive accommodation gets.

Pulo Alor is a new hotel in Alor Island,
with a modern design, Pulo alor is a nice hotel to stay.
At the hotel, there a Pool, so you can relax by swimming there.
The hotel is up in a hill, so if you can get up early in the morning (like 5AM) you can catch a really nice sunrise with the natural sound of rooster. You just go to the third floor balcony at the back of the hotel, the morning mood is really amazing.
Oh, also you can walk around to the traditional market.
If you want to use motorcycle, you can ask "Ojek" for Rp. 10.000 for one trip. (is quice cheap, because you also can go around the city with it).

So far, it is the best di Alor Regency. The room so spacious, perfect hot water, friendly staff, tidy restaurant. Menu is just so so, poor wifi (only available at the lobby). There is swimming pool for refreshing.

I stayed 2D1N,I don't give high standar when stayed in this city. So, when I got this hotel,It felt nice, clean. I choose room in the third floor, and they did not have lift, so, if you had big luggage , you have to carry it up . Only room in the third floor that have a window. Although the window only to the public balcony , not to the view.
Breakfast was standard.

+1
spent 2 days here are pleasantly enough. My first day room is in 3rd floor with ocean view despite the fact is cafe view and if i open the curtains i can directly saw the people who are sitting in the cafe (uncomfortable). This deluxe shower room and the air conditioning worked well, but not with my friend's room, the air conditioner was not cold enoughand the shower leaked. The second day i moved to the 1st floor room (standart room) with the same size and also same facilities with deluxe room. The different is just the warehouse view. In this room my shower leaked and the air conditioner was not cold. the advantages of this hotel is friendly staff amd an outdoor swimming pool although the location is far from everywhere.

well as other reviewers said the most modern design you can find in the island. the first room, the air con didn't work properly then they move us to another room (a bit cooler) where the toilet smelled really bad!! we have to cope up with the solution by spraying it w. room fragrance. the good things we were in diving groups w. Donovan so breakfast quite ok.
- Wifi you can only use around lobby area & if you are lucky but is ok...buy Telkomsel if you travel in East Indonesia
- nice touch for the swimming pool at least you have something to do.
- is an ok hotel since mostly you are out to enjoy the beautiful island!
