Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is s great find for us. It was chosen for its location initially (on the route to Picton), but could be an alternative to staying in Christchurch city as a destination. It is spotlessly clean and tidy, great parking, inexpensive, well-equipped, and staff are friendly and helpful. Road noise is minimal, even though it's on a very busy highway. Very hard to fault.

We spent one night, breaking a journey from Wanaka to Nelson. We found the unit to be very spacious and comfortable. We needed a quiet night to get some much needed rest and got that, despite a howling gale outside. Good service and excellent value for money.

Remarkably quiet given it’s on the main road - excellent sound proofing. Excellent value too - our bedroom and lounge was really big with everything we needed - and the shower was great. The people were really friendly.

We originally booked in for 2 nights, now we knew check in was before 8pm and we were running excessively late so rung ahead to see what the go would be expecting to be told nothing could be done. Lewis the awesome human you'll see he is, opened our room turned the heater on and left the key out for us. Arriving at 3am on a bloody chilly night and being greated by the warmth that was our apartment room was nothing short of heaven. Our original 2 nights turned into another and then another and then another, without a worry Lewis rebooked us each one of those nights even though the complex was full and we were sure we'd be told exactly that. Our room was clean spacious and completely comfortable. We were offered new amenities every day and a cleaner with a bright smile asked us if we wanted our room cleaned on each aswell. I can't say enough good words about the running of this motel and it's staff. Thank you Lewis and team for a wonderful stay, each one of you are amazing and I hope many good things come your way for your kindness, hospitality and genuine good nature. Andy & Peanuts :)

Clean, modern, comfortable and double glazed so quiet. Really happy. Staff friendly and helpful. Staff were happy to put another bed in the room for us. Good wifi. Weirdly low kitchen benches. Clean, modern, comfortable and double glazed so quiet

We stayed a night here, last week, and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of room we had. One bedroom with extra bed on lounge and a kitchen. We thought the price was excellent for what we got. Owners are lovely and very helpful with dinner and breakfast venue options. Would certainly return here.

We stayed three nights on the recommendation of a friend and were very pleased with the accommodation and the friendly manager. The one bedroom apartment was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The shower was excellent. We would definitely come again.

This was our 2nd visit to Pegasus Motel, check in was easy with friendly welcome. Unit was clean and tidy, very spacious with good facilities. Bed was comfortable. Do get a bit of traffic noise as it is close to State Highway 1. One comment would be a better range of Sky channels. Over all a pleasant stay and would stay again :)

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment for two nights as we were attending a sports competition in Rangiora. The room we stayed in was modern and very comfortable (great oven!!). The heating worked well including the heater in the bathroom, the beds were very comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. The bed in the lounge was an actual bed and not a sofa bed which made such a difference and was really appreciated. Just one negative was the gap under the shower enclosure, it let lots of water out into the bathroom but apart from that minor detail we were really happy with our stay. The manager even called us after we checked out as our Son had left an Ipad behind, great service!!

A great family motel room located on main highway with heaps of parking. Modern well maintained with attention to detail. Room was fabulous as it wasn't dominated by a bed. Had real lounge feel with lounge suite, dining table and chairs, coffee table. TV on wall and a bed in corner. Great modern kitchen area with full sized built in oven plus normal ceramic cook top, microwave etc. Loved the cabinetry and well laid out crockery and utensils. Separate bedroom as well. Only fault was no air conditioning but we had 30+ degree weather and we coped fine. Bathroom roomy modern with a great shower. Would definitely stay again and highly recommended. Great location with Woodend Beach 5 min drive away and close to lovely towns of Rangiora and Kaiapoi.
