The Raetihi Holiday Park is your base for adventure in the Ruapehu/Whanganui Region. Close to the ski fields of Mount Ruapehu, the Tongariro Crossing, and the Whanganui River we are in the perfect position for your adventures. Whanganui River Canoes is based at the Raetihi Holiday Park, so meet here before your canoe trip, arrange shuttles to different tracks in the area, and arrange bike hire from us too! We are in the process of building the Holiday Park into an affordable one stop shop for all of your needs, and every time you stay you will see more improvements to the Park grounds and buildings.

Bridge to Nowhere Bike in stay over paddle out.

We did the Bike in Paddle out of Bridge to Nowhere, the hole experience was fantastic! So well run, the drop offs and pick ups and the lodge the staff all great! We will be back to do this again. Loved very bit of it. Thank you for amazing memories 💕

So clean & tidy!

So clean & tidy! We stayed in a cabin - which was small but all we needed. It was cold & rainy during our stay and the heater in the room made it toasty & dry. Very impressed with how clean & tidy all the facilities were. Showers were awesome and the bathrooms immaculate. Would definitely stay here again.

Lacking a bit

Did not like that the cabin had no window. Was stuffy at night and very hard to breath. The bed was hard due to the worn down foam mattress. Was given a 4 bunk cabin for 1 person. No table or jug in the room to make your own coffee . Cabin had muddy access. Was put here even though there were others available with dry acess

Whanganui River accomodation, transport & canoe hire

Raetihi Holiday Park was a great place to stay. We had 2 Cabins that were clean & tidy & reasonably priced. The facilities at the Holiday Park were fantastic. The transport to & from the river was great & the drivers were helpful & friendly. Close to Ohakune for food etc.

Comfy overnight stay

The cabin was comfortable and all facilities well maintained, in particular the bathrooms which look new. We enjoyed petting Wanton the cat and the 2 dogs, and also enjoyed the nature walk. The staff were friendly.

Fabulous Whanganui River experience

Great friendly holiday park. Loads of room to spread out and to park up. Awesome friendly helpful staff. Excellent facilities - very roomy and pristine clean bathrooms, spacious kitchen/dining/living room. Comfortable and clean cabins. Good mattresses. Also very handy that you can organise your Whanganui River trip from here, too. Great trip. Again, great service from the team.

Cabin before river journey

Whanganui River Canoes were very accommodating and helpful as we adjusted our plans at the last minute. Tidy, easy, no fuss accommodation, we had a great stay! Highly recommend for connections to river trips.

Pleasant stay.

Very comfortable and reasonably priced cabin. The bathroom facilities are spacious and modern with excellent showers. Very clean. Friendly helpful staff. We stayed over before doing the Whanganui River Journey by canoe.

Clean & Tidy camp ground

Friendly helpful staff in the office. Good clean and tidy amenities (kitchen and bathrooms). Handy to shops etc. We stayed as a base before canoeing the Whanganui river and it was ideal. Would recommend to others.

Great team to book your Whanganui River trip with

Equipment worked well, instructions were clear, safety briefing was helpful. Staying at the holiday park the night before made things run smoothly. Showering at the holiday park after our river trip meant that our drive home was much more pleasant, too
