We needed to extend our stay in Devon awaiting the arrival of our first grandchild. We'd looked everywhere for a place to stay local to Kennford at a reasonable price. Exeter Court came up on our search & what a find it was. We booked for one night as that's all that was available. We we're greeted by a very pleasant receptionist who got us all booked in & we got to our room which was lovely, very clean, comfortable bed & s well stocked hospitality tray. We then went to restaurant for our evening meal which again was excellent, nicely presented, very tasty & great value for money. The restaurant manager Raj couldn't do enough for us & was very attentive. The breakfasts were fabulous with choices of cereals, fruit & yogurt, toast, tea coffee & if course the full English breakfast, which was beautifully presented very tasty & piping hot too. We needed to further extend our stay twice & again were lucky enough to get rooms here & they even made it possible to stay in the same room so we didn't have the hassle of packing & unpacking. All in all we had a fantastic stay, our granddaughter arrived safe and sound & we got to meet her before heading home. I can't recommend this hotel enough, the staff, rooms & food in the restaurant were all perfect, so much so I've ready booked a return visit for October with our daughter. Book with confidence, you won't be disappointed, highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay 10/10😁x

The hotel itself is not convenient for Powderham Castle, which was our destination. IN hindsight would have booked a place in Exeter as the cabs came from there. A 6 mile journey was £28. On the positive side, it is a nice hotel, clean rooms, nice bar, breakfast was excellent. Although Sarah on the desk couldn't accommodate us for an early check in she did offer free pints after mine had fallen off a wonky table and she was extremely courteous and engaging throughout the day.

It was a toss up between the fish and chips or the burger, I plumbed for the burger- big mistake! Didn’t have to wait long for the burger to arrive, when it did the alarm bells started ringing. “Stay cool” I told myself, you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. On this occasion I couldn’t have been more wrong. The presentation was more school dinner than restaurant quality, I tried a chip which was adequate, the problems were really with the burger. Let’s start with the bun, for nearly £12 you’d expect perhaps a toasted seeded brooch, well, Imagine an English muffin that had been stamped on and we are just about there, I went to pick it up to take a bite and was shocked at the heat of the bun. In my experience there are only two things that could get bread that hot without toasting, the first would be a nuclear power station and the second would be a microwave oven, the nearest nuclear power station is Hinckley Point which as far as I’m aware has yet to be commissioned so I’m guessing it was a microwave, further evidence to this would be the vulcanised rubber cheese. The second issue with burger was the tomato sauce type gunge that was cloaking the internals of the sorry offering, it was like molten sweet tomato jam, sweet as sugar with a twang of tinned pizza topping, wholly unpleasant. As I didn’t get plate checked and the area was quite quiet I left the offending article and slowly backed away towards the door never to return.
