Stayed for two nights. Close to the beach. The unit has a large living area, full kitchen, large family bathroom, good size bedroom and a balcony. Checking was easy, staff friendly and the location superb. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay. Enjoyed every minute. Price was $185 per night, but it is more an apartment than a motel. Good value for money.
Old block was built in the 60's. If you're over 6' the shower isn't for you. Windows also won't fully close, which may not be a bad thing. New wing is better except you don't get a stove/oven. The shower is for a real person, but there isn't any water pressure. The staff is very friendly so it's hard to be negative. The beach is within throwing distance and the view is amazing.
I stayed here at the Bream Bay Motel while I was working in a plant a few miles away. The unit was always clean and restocked when I returned every night. The beach was literally just across the grassy dune from the front door of the unit.
This motel is a little tired and dated, but very comfortable. The manager was very obliging and responded to every request for help. the location is ideal for anyone wanting to be close to the amazing Ruakaka beach.
