First of all, I want to mention how nice the staff are. Due to things coming up, I had to move my booking three times and they allowed it with no fuss or extra cost, even though I was moving the booking the day before I was due to show up😁. Really nice site, stayed on one of the beach pitches and was not disappointed. $36 for each night is not a bad price to pay for a beach front pitch with free wifi and electrical hook up. Felt very safe staying here as a solo traveller. Facilities are really nice and are cleaned on the regular. Even have washing stations for people with young kids which I think is a nice touch. Would highly recommend checking it out 😁

The staff was very nice and moved us to another spot so that we had a nicer view. The campsite's facilities are somewhat poor. There are two hotplates in the kitchen for a very large area. There is only one shower in the back area, where you have to pay extra for the hot water and then you can share the shower with a bunch of spiders. There are no trash cans in the shower/toilet area and cleaning and renovation definitely wouldn't do any harm.

Overnight stay in a single cabin. Bed was comfy, and clean. Take your own blankets, towels, tea towels, plates & cutlery - toaster, jug, and bar fridge are provided. Didn't use kitchen facilities, but showers and toilets were clean and suitable. Friendly staff, and a great venue overall. Will stay again!

I took the Mrs and my two kids here in January 2022, we had wonderful time. The river and estuary are not too deep so we did have fun on the Kayak. The staff where friendly and very organised. It's a very safe campsite and the rules are clear on what you can/can not do, which if your a small family you welcome.

The amenities where basic but clean, most people seem to bring there own cooking setup but we used the kitchen. Plenty of fringed/freezer space. My Mrs did comment that the cookers could do with being replaced and maybe a revamp of the old kitchen (I think some have) but that didn't stop us having a hot meal each night.

Overall a chilled and enjoyable time, well worth the trip.

The small standard cabin was just perfect with everything I needed. All the facilities were sparkling clean and new and modern. Very well organized camp site. All facilities near to the cabin. Loved the way the toilets were separated by a door from the showers and I was given complimentary shower tokens for the first night.

Great Park, beach was really good for small kids, we had a great spot overlooking the beach so kids could paddle in the water, and we could watch them from the bank of our site. Toilets were tidy and cleaned every morning, communal kitchen was kept clean by every 1 in the park, which was great, the showers took tokens, but it seemed like a long 5 mins. And it was enough, unless u took ages and had to was your hair.

Walked to the main beach from out site, went surfcasting and got fish for breakfast on the first and last night, kids got a few pipis, but were kinda small.

Big fresh, shopping area and a bar/tab just down the road

3 nights we stayed, honestly it was great for our whanau.
A big thank you to staff for not being annoying, doing there daily rounds and checks, and keepimg everything nice.

I took my boys 6 and 8 straight there after school finished in December. The campsite was amazing at this time as they where preparing for the busy Christmas period. I'd never seen a campsite so quite as I've never camped that early in the season but, it was so relaxing and might do the same next year. Staff where super helpful and friendly. Had a super great time!

Great location, harbour is beautiful and safe surf beach not far with great waves for boogie boarding. Downsides are very small tent sites. Our retreat 360 didn’t quite fit. Communal fridge and freezer space in camp kitchen is too small for the amount of campers using. And wasn’t particularly busy. Freezer space particularly tiny. Fridge door was sometimes found ajar so the seals aren’t great. Also showers turn off when token runs out, rather than just running cold.

Ruakaka Holiday Park is areat place for a family holiday. It has very good facilities and is well run. The park is safe for kids and close to the estuary and the ocean beach for swimming and water activities. Highly recommended.

The surf beach and estuary are lovely and safe places for a swim. Beautiful views. The stars at night are gorgeous.
It’s easy to get to and there’s a local Fresh Choice grocery store with other shops (bakery/cafe) etc a short 5 minute drive away.
The facilities here let the place down. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. Certainly not kept clean. There was a whole day where no soap was available. The showers are unsanitary : filthy, no hooks to hang your bag, shelves for your shampoo etc.
The kitchen is far too tiny for the amount of campers in the area.
The bbq area is lovely.
With some maintenance, love and attention this could easily be a five star.

Hello, we do have powered sites available. You can take a quad bike on the beach but access is either at Tip road, between Uretiti and Waipu or northern end of the beach in the village of Ruakaka. Kontiki fishing is done from either end of the beach. Sorry unable to take quad bike onto estuary and beach from the camp as this is a no vehicle access due to bird sanctuary on Department of Conservation Land.
