I recently took my girlfriend for afternoon tea at The Salutation Inn and had such a warming experience. On booking, they asked if it was for a special occasion and of any extra information. I informed them it was for my girlfriend’s birthday and that she had a peanut allergy. The staff took the allergy seriously and described all the food in detail so we were happy with the contents, which was great to see. They left a birthday card and also brought out a small plate with ‘Happy Birthday’ written on along with some nice decoration. Would definitely recommend anyone to this lovely restaurant and shall be visiting again soon.
This is the perfect hotel in my opinion: welcoming, clean, stylish with attention to detail and fabulous food. Every member of staff was exceptionally helpful, we had a very busy weekend planned and when we returned each day to the hotel everything was exactly as required. Will definitely stay again, thank you for a great weekend.
Beautiful setting in the atrium which set the evening off just right, along with chef's appetisers, everything was perfection and a true fine dining experience in every aspect. Service was exceptional and the people looking after us really wanted to make sure we enjoyed everything. Book in advance to make sure you don't miss out as we tried to book 2 weeks in advance and we on the waiting list, but lucky enough to be called and offered a table on the morning.
We had another wonderful stay for three nights. It's our favourite place to stay! Beautiful, clean, comfortable and so accommodating. We love the little gallery kitchen where you can make your own tea and coffee, toast and cereal. The cooked breakfast is amazing too! We can't wait to come back as we love the hotel and Topsham is a lovely little town with lots going on. Thank you so much for making our stay so comfortable even with the current restrictions.
We stayed four nights at the Salutation, but in the early part of the week when the restaurant isn't open and the whole place goes into hibernation. We were delighted to discover that there was a small kitchen with freshly delivered fruit and breakfast nibbles provided - my wife was delighted with the quality of the food provided. The room was lovely, and the Salutation is of course right in the heart of the village, and but a short walk from the station. Parking was also easy, though if you have a big car you might find the drive in tricky. The room itself was lovely, and spotlessly clean. The only thing lacking was a second chair - it would be nice to both be able to sit down without using the bed. Everone we met was really friendly and positive, and the one meal we did have in the restaurant was first-rate - though at a price. If we stayed again I'd be tempted to have the tasting menu to see what the kitchen can really do.…
