Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Super friendly host Tracey who runs a good ship.
A little hidden gem close to Auckland CBD.

When you are tired after the beautiful kauri museum one of the closest campgrounds is the pahi beach camping. Nice and quiet. Clean amenities. There is a jetty from where you can swim. Easy steps down to the water or jump of from any height.

The campground is generally tidy and in a quiet spot right on the water. However, the facilities are quite run down and showers are not free. We stayed in much nicer campgrounds for the same price. There were some long-term guests having a party the night we were there, and while the owners did attempt to quiet them down at our request (for which we are grateful), the guests didn't quieten down and kept yelling quite abusive language. They were even playing bagpipes at one point! The owners were friendly and helpful but the campground is very overpriced for what you get. It is conveniently close to the Kauri Museum.
