Great place to stay. Super friendly on the phone and even nicer face to face. Spacious with really comfortable beds. Loads of space. Good water pressure. Clean with nice crisp linen. Definitely value for money. Would highly recommend it and really not that far away from Napier.

While appeared old fashioned this motel was extremely clean, with good beds, very spacious living area and has activities for kids. The day we spent there was cool so we didn't feel inclined to use the pool, however the large chessboard kept us occupied. On the main road but very quiet at night. Would stay again.

We stayed at the Cherry Grove Motel over the New Years period and were pleasantly surprised. Even though the property was fully booked and we had a pool outside our room we did not have any noise or disturbance. The property was clean and tidy and the owners were lovely. We had a great new year and came home to have a great sleep as the place was so quiet! A lovely little motel in walking distance to shops!

Very basic motel, clean spacious and tidy, however extremely over priced for what it was, $220 a night for 4 people! If you were to book ask for a room off the road as we got one by the road, I'm talking very public not even a fence between the road and room so it was like taking your mattress and putting it on the road..also not a family friendly motel, after checking out and visiting my parents in their unit, the owner told us we shouldn't still be there and whilst we chose to dismiss this since the motel rules state visitors are welcome till 10pm she watched us like a hawk and was rude to my children when she came across then alone.

We stayed two nights at $130 per night in a studio room. On the surface, the room was reasonably clean, but the carpet had countless stains on it. The bathroom wall linings were bowed out and the surfaces of the walls were heavily marked. The paint on the cupboards and units generally was chipped. Notices in hte room told us to use white towels in hte room and link towels at the swimming pool. The towels in our room were dark red! That tells you much about the motel. We stayed at a far better motel between Christmas and New Year in Taumaranui, for about $85 per night and had a much cleaner and larger room. However, you pay through the nose for being in Hawkes Bay.

I am sorry you were disappointed with the cost and standard of our accommodation when you stayed here recently. Our prices for a studio unit are $90 - $130 depending on time and events. The carpet has now been thoroughly cleaned, a matter of getting a clear day when it was vacant so that it might be fully dried and aired.I can find no evidence of any heavy wall marks so they must have been cleaned after you departure and not before your arrival. My apologies again. Maintenance is an on going matter here, something we are constantly working on in order to achieve maximum cleanliness and comfort. Unfortunately during the busy season it is not always possible to deal with some things immediately. The bathroom walls are being relined and dealt with as a matter of priority. Thank you for your comment about the pool towels notice. We have recently replaced all pool towels with new red ones. The white bath towels in the studio units were also replaced with new red ones but I forgot to amend the notices. That will be dealt with

Very helpful and friendly staff. Transferred all my gear to another room while I was touring and provided a USB adapter plug that could not be found for love or money in the village shops. Very close to the centre of the village and even though it is the oldest motel in the region it is still the cutest.

Stayed for two nights in March 2016. An older style motel, which meant plenty of room. It was very clean and serviced daily with fresh towels, tea coffee and sugar. The owners were very helpful and good not do enough to help. There was plenty of off street parking and a good size swimming pool.

The motel was spotless and well equipped but dated decor.
The hosts were hot and cold sometimes really nice and then other times really particular. But o suppose that's how you look after your place.
I stay in motels often I think it's slightly over priced. I think they would do better dropping the price slightly or having a fixed rate.
It's a great location though I rode my bike everyday.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the spacious and comfortable studio unit which was spotlessly clean and well-equipped. Jan and Ian were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We had a room at the back which was quiet with a grassy area outside and near the pool. Our breakfast was very good value and we were offered a morning paper free of charge. We unexpectedly needed a late check out which Jan kindly accommodated. For us, the bed was too soft but it was great to have an electric blanket as standard. Would definitely recommend the motel and it is substantially cheaper than other motels in Havelock North. Very good value for money and well located for a range of eating places.
