I stayed at this lodge in December 2019. Spacious rooms, good room services, polite and helpful staff, plenty of car parking available. The check-in process is quite smooth. The location is near good restaurants and bars. Overall a great place to stay.
We stayed here for one night in March 2022. It was only for a very short time - essentially just to sleep. The unit was clean, warm, and well equipped, and the bed was comfortable. The coffee machine was a bonus! The hotel is centrally located, just a minute's walk from shops and restaurants. We experienced no noise. We will certainly consider staying here the next time we're in Havelock North.
We were in an upstairs room which was ok for us. (Be sure to ask for downstairs if you don't want to carry your stuff up stairs) The only disadvantage I could see with the downstairs rooms are that guests park their cars directly in front of them. We did feel awkward about starting our car up early (engine noise, headlights) when we set off to see sunrise at Te Mata Peak. The rooms were clean and spacious and all the basic kitchen equipment. We don't tend to spend much time in the room - its just somewhere to sleep and shower. The spas bath is nice but we could hear our neighbour's spa bath filling and when the jets were on - so they could probably hear ours. Easy location to find and close to several good restaurants.
Our family were passing through on our way north and we’re lucky to find a room here. We enjoyed everything about it…Clean, modern, spacious, quiet, spa bath, great location, great kitchenette with nice coffee. We enjoyed our stay thanks! Would definitely choose Te Mata again.
Spent a week relaxing here the service was super friendly Did lots of wine tasting around the Hawkes Bay Lots of great restaurants within walking distance with excellent menus Chinese takeaway nearby was the best Chinese we have had Great place to visit
Te Mata Lodge is situated close to the town of Havelock North, great location. The hostess there is just lovely really friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and the linen all clean. We wanted to stay more than one night but unfortunately they had a conference booking and it was full so we had to move on, will definitely go back if ever in the area.
We stayed here in adjoining units and thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights. The units were extremely well appointed and spotlessly cared for. I even enjoyed a spa bath! There were generous toiletries and plunger coffee was available in our rooms, while Nespresso was for our use in the office. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the walking proximity to good restaurants made evening transport unnecessary. I would definitely be eager to return.
We stayed here for our first family holiday over labour weekend. The rooms were lovely, nice and clean and pretty large. Good size bathrooms with a bath in the unit too. Very good sound proofing. Owners allowed us in early as the room was available so we could put our little one down for her lunch nap and let us leave a little late too. Would definitely stay here again if we’re in the area!!
The room is well appointed with everything you could need, extremely clean, friendly staff and great communication. Shower is great, there a spa bath in the room but we didn’t use it. Free fast wifi. A great location.
We stayed for 2 nights mid week. All the staff are really friendly and welcoming. Enticed by the in room spa bath, we were not disappointed. The sizeable ground floor unit was sparkly clean. The bed was huge and comfy. Bathroom sparkly clean, with shower gel and shampoo dispensing bottles (extra points) the fixed shower head would be the only negative. The kitchenette well served including a cafetiere, mini stove and a couple of pans. Bottles and plastics are recycled. The lodge is centrally located to the shops and cafes in town, and the wider Bay region. Would recommend, would stay again.
