Cape South was a stunning place for our family 'mini break' away to attend the Elton John Mission Estate Concert. The lovely photos don't do the property justice, it just blew our minds form the minute we arrived. Even the drive from Napier was through gorgeous scenery in a little pocket of NZ we had never explored before. The sleeping accommodation with 6 bedrooms, each with an en-suite, suited our extended family perfectly. The living areas are extensive and beautifully furnished and meant everyone could find a cosy corner to read and relax if needed. The gardens and pool area are beautiful, well maintained and perfect for swimming, walks and afternoon/evening drinks and relaxation.

We spent a extended weekend at Cape South with 5 other couples. The house is fairly isolated, approx. 25 minutes drive to shops. We fell in love with the villa, with its large rooms and stunning views. The rooms all have their own bathrooms which made the stay all the more enjoyable. The underfloor heating kept the house warm and cozy with us only lighting the fires to enjoy the atmosphere. The facilities are great and everything (except food) is provided. Would highly recommend to anyone considering a peaceful getaway.

My husband and I were traveling through Hawke's Bay on our two-week honeymoon in New Zealand. When planning our itinerary, we left one day "Open" in Hawke's Bay in order to get some R&R in an otherwise busy itinerary. When we arrived in Napier, we realized that it was going to be raining on our one free day, so decided to book a couple's massage. The hostess of our B&B recommended Cape South as a new, holistic retreat with great services on a beautiful property. We called Cape South immediately, hoping they could accommodate a last minute booking, and they were extremely helpful. Although, their usual massage therapist was on holiday, they were able to find two therapists that were available to come in the very next day. When we arrived, we got a tour of the property. Although it was raining, it was absolutely stunning. We enjoyed homemade tea made with herbs from the garden and took in the view. When our massage therapists were ready, we wandered down to the treatment room, which was in a beautiful room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Hawke's Bay. The massage therapists spent about 10 minutes with us discussing our ailments, their technique and how they could best treat us. Both of our treatments were excellent, very relaxing, and very technical. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent at Cape South and would definitely consider staying here on our next trip to Hawke's Bay.

Cape South is a truly stunning property. It is tucked away in a calm rural setting, yet only 25minutes from Havelock North. The guest rooms and facilities are beautifully appointed and immaculate. Our stay was part of a 'wellness package' that included plenty of delicious vegetarian meals and snacks and a variety of treatments. All staff were extremely friendly and courteous, Cathy and Blair graciously hospitable without being obtrusive. Our every need was meet and exceeded - an truly luxurious and pampered weekend. Thank you to the whole Cape South team for such a memorable stay.

Our accommodation at Cape South - The Hut was unique. Nice comfortable room In a delightful secluded rural location although a considerable distance from Havelock North and much further from the beach than anticipated. Good views and very quiet with outside spa. Woke up to sheep looking through the window at us in the morning! Continental breakfast provided for our first morning. Not quite worthy of their self allocated "luxurious accommodation" description. (No top sheet on bed, hole in duvet and door knobs falling of kitchen doors). Room seemed a bit "tired" and not especially good value for money compared with other similar accommodation, but even so, we thoroughly enjoyed staying at The Hut.

My partner and I stayed in the one bedroom 'Hut' for Christmas 2010 and were so pleased with this find. The owner was a charming lady who was very helpful before our trip, via email, and during our stay. She purchased a shopping list in advance from a quality local store and did some research for us about what restaurants might be open for Christmas. The accommodation itself is perfect for a couple and provided the setting for a romantic couple of days sat on the veranda in the sun with beautiful views. The hot tub is a nice touch. I would definitely recommend you try this accommodation for yourself.

I stayed here in the Homestead with a group of nine friends for a birthday weekend - the place was absolutely breathaking when you came and immaculately clean. The grounds were beautiful, with a lovely pool and gardens. Yu could go for a run down to the beach, or just hang out in the pool - the bedrooms were all lovely, again really clean and comfortable, each with an ensuite, all linen and towels provided. They all had large doors that opened out onto the cerandah that circled the house. The living areas were huge even with ten people in the house, the kitchen was fabulous, with breakfast supplies and tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc all provided. We ahd a barbeque for our night there and the kitchen was really well stocked with whatever you needed - cutlery to big platters and jugs It is a bit of a drive out of Havelock North and despite the fact that we got a bit lost getting there, the directions on the website were very good and pretty easy to follow The internet wasn't working the weekend I was there, but when I called the owner about it, she came down to the house within ten minutes to try and fix it and call the phone company We had an awesome weekend on this great property, really relaxing, with a very friendly and easy to deal with owner - would love to go back and would recommend this property to anyone!

Cape South is a fantastic retreat in the middle of some beautiful countryside. Difficult to pick any bad points about this place - incredibly well kitted out, spotlessly clean, comfortable, a great pool, croquet on the lawn, even had wifi !! For a group of friends or family needing a base to stay whilst exploring this area, checking out the NZ wines, or just needing to chill out for a while, this is perfect. Easy to get into Havelock North or Hastings to stock up on supplies, after that you're in business. 100% recommended.
