This is a lovely historic home set in a beautiful garden. Our room was so cosy, with a beautiful modern bathroom and stunning views of the Leven River. It was nice to end the day with a glass of port and start the day with one of the most delicious breakfasts we’ve had. Annette and David are lovely, relaxed hosts and gave us great tips of where to go in the local area. Couldn’t recommend this Bed and Breakfast more highly.

With such lovely gardens around the building, it was just as nice to be inside as it was outside. The rooms we super cute and felt very open with the light and space, and the shared amenities were fantastic - i.e. the shared fridge had cold water in it, there were many tea options, a bottle of port with glasses was available, the lounge was very cosy (with games available), and they have an area where you can feel like you were outdoors without being in the elements. The owners were very friendly and made us feel very much at home, and the breakfast was just delicioous!

Beautifully kept historic home. The service was brilliant and the hosts were very welcoming. A little piece of England with the gardens and oak trees. A hearty cooked breakfast to set you up for the day. Definitely recommend staying at Boscabel.

Love the grounds - very pretty mature garden with a period building. And the breakfast room was nicely period set up. Our room was neat and tidy... would have preferred the ensuite smaller so that the bedroom had room for a proper sofa. Pity window view overlooked neighbours, so we needed to draw curtains to French doors next to bathroom... and holiday accommodation was so close to busy road. All the rooms are upstairs.... so be prepared to lug luggage up one floor. Owners were very friendly and welcoming... they even offered really large umbrellas to borrow during our rainy stay. It's wonderful they offered us the flexibility of deciding in advance when we would like our cooked breakfast served the next morning. And advance ordering exactly what we preferred cooked. I suggest sticking to their savouries over the sweet.... love they garnished my eggs with edilble flowers from their garden. So compared to the limited options in Ulverstone, they're a great choice. But next time would look for a self contained cottage beyond ... like in Penguin, for example.

Thank you for your feedback. If you do decide to visit Boscobel again you would be welcome to choose a different room. All our rooms are unique and have their own special features. The guest lounge and conservatory have some lovely sofa options for relaxing by the fire or reading a book. We are always happy to help guests with luggage to and from the rooms. It was such a pity that the weather was so wet when you were in Ulverstone and you missed the chance to walk on the beautiful beaches or explore the lovely walking and bike paths and cafes that can be found in our picturesque town.
