The Hotel de l'ITHQ provided a great value with breakfast included with our stay. Our suite was large and we appreciated having the additional room and amenities such as the microwave and sink. It was a bit far away from the historic downtown, but subway...More

I spent a night at the ITHQ in early August, and could not have been happier with my stay. I was warmly greeted upon arrival; the room was spacious, as well as affording an awesome view of a large section of the downtown area. After...More
This is a unique and wonderful spot. There is a cooking school and classrooms, meeting rooms on ground to Floor 6 and hotel rooms, on floors 6 and 7. Students at the school get to practice making meals and serving actual patrons. We could not...More
Firstly, I must correct my prior review. Hotel de l"ITHQ is on the ORANGE line, not the Green line.
Since my last stay in May, the hotel has installed a room card reader in the elevator. Great security initiative. All continues to be top shelf,...More
Nice hotel, in a perfect location, lively and not far from the Old Town and the river (Greyhound station is also within walking distance). Breakfast is excellent and the staff is competent and helpful. Nor cheap, though. Recommended for business travelers.

Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that
dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.

Agreed, the place is spotless. Like anywhere we stay, we do a bedbug check anyways and cross reference it to the bedbug registry. I usually do not shop while on vacation (can't fit in my carry on case), and the only place I know of is the Centre Eaton which is easily accessible by Metro (Metro station is behind the hotel). We took advantage of 3 Day Metro Pass (unlimited rides). Check out Boutique metiers d'art du Quebec in Old Montreal if you are looking for unique items from local artists as souvenir. Enjoy!
