Detailed Reviews
This Hotel is obviously an older style and well used establishment, but having said that, it was clean, warm, safe and quiet. Thats all I ask for. Located not far from town just off the main road into Charlottetown, this place is of an older style, but it is being maintained in quite good order. Breakfast was of the normal standard of cereals, toast and condiments and coffee. Quite acceptable and well presented.

The Econo Lodge in Charlottetown is all you need when you travel, The rooms are clean, comfortable and they are equiped with what you need. Staff treated us very friendly we hinted around that a fridge and microwave would be nice and within minutes there was one in our room. Breakfast is all you need to get the day off to a start, muffins, cereal, toast and juice and coffee all which is included. No complaints we enjoyed our stay very much and will return if we travel to Charlottetown again.

NOT IMPRESSES-WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL IN ANY WAY!! Rented this hotel for 1 month (which was paid in full up front) & asked to extend the stay for 2 more days to attend a graduation and asked if it was OK to have breakfast because we didn't have a lot of food in for our last 2 days. Desk clerk gave a price which was promptly paid and said we could come for breakfast. We went out & came to our room to find the key did not work. Manager said we had to pay more to stay there because the desk clerk was not authorized to give us the price he did. We were told that we had breakfast & weren't allowed to (advertised as breakfast included) & they could charge us $10 each. The owner (I think) saw us at breakfast & didn't say anything about breakfast then. How are we responsible to know what the desk clerk can & cannot offer? Not our fault..if the employees in an establishment are dishonest the company should suck it up. The manager would not give us a receipt for our payment as he said "I won't give a receipt for money that I didn't collect". They would not give back a cheque for $1000 (payable to the owner personally) that was put down for a damage deposit. Called the owner, who yelled at me and threatened to evict me. She said I should know that breakfast isn't included in monthly rentals (how would I know this, by osmosis? Plus we asked-it was the first time we had breakfast). She hung up on me too. My guess is that they are cash strapped…since we were all paid up in a hotel that advertises "free breakfast" who would make such a big deal about the breakfast? Really? This is off season in PEI and the hotel had very few customers in it. There's more, but it would take pages to explain. Since both the Manager & Owner yelled at me when I did not raise my voice and neither one would let me get a word in edgewise or listen to me, I could not recommend this hotel in any way. It ruined our stay in PEI and was the last memory of PEI. MANAGEMENT NEEDS CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING AND LISTENING SKILLS!

The rooms smell like mould, one face, hand, and bath towel with little holes, 1/2 roll of toilet paper and 1/4 box of kleenex, one shampoo, one lotion, and one bar of soap in room.
Breakfast consisted of stale/expired bagels and bread with mould growing on them. Manager, Ramsey buys expired baked goods from Supercentre at less than 1/2 price in bulk. He freezes them and feeds the customers with these staled goodies. No fruit as stated on their menu at all!
The bed was old and lumpy. Carpet was stained pretty bad.
You can't get cheaper than this hotel!

I booked through Hotwire and checked in but my room only had one bed and my son and I needed two. I told them and with no fuss they fixed us up. The room was a nice layout and met our needs. I got a phone call from the front desk they found a cord from my sons I touch on the floor. Then in the morning I left my purse in the breakfast room and they called me to tell me. At breakfast they made sure we had what we needed and even made the waffles for you if you liked. Great location, nice rooms and wonderful service. You feel cared for!

We stayed at this hotel in 2004 and had a terrible time. We paid with a travlers cheque went to the room where there was no TV. We were made to wait over half an hour for them to get the TV to the room, then, upon turning the sheets down there was a lot of black hair all over the beds. We went to the desk and asked for a refund which they wouldn't give us. We asked for new sheets which they tossed in our general direction, not bothering to make the beds. All in all, an abismal hotel.
To top it all their sign which stated "100% Satisfaction!" was a fantastic lie.

The lobby wasn't too bad and the service at check in was good, and that's it for the good stuff. The room was dark, smelly, dirty and dated. The view from the room was of the backyard which was littered with garbage and looked like a slum. There was a small blood stain on the sheets and some other mystery yellow crusty substance as well. It was very cheap and I still felt like a was ripped off.

The room I had was below grade and required that a dehumidified and air conditoner be running all the time. The noise from them was so loud you could not hear the TV or sleep. The below-grade room (similar to that of a high-ranch house) was dingy, windows filthy, and the pull-out couch/bed in the 2nd room was made probably in the 1950s. There was a lamp in the other room with no wall plugs to plug it in. Bed was uncomfortable. This room was suitable as a storage locker. The only plus was that the bathroom was clean. Horrible place and would not return even for a free night.

See you soon!
Hi there,
We allow guests to use our breakfast room as a gathering room. Guests are more then welcome to use it, as long as its available.
No I'm sorry there is not. It would only cost you$15 by cab one way.
They did have a laundry area, but I didn't ask if it was available for guests to use as well.
