Upon arrival we asked if we could view the room, guy took us to the room but would not leave us alone to examine room in private. First night noticed when we came back to hotel air conditioner was off. Overnight air conditioner automatically shut off for several hours over night! This meant no air flow at all just a stuffy room which caused breathing issues. Brought it to someone's attention and they said they could adjust it. Why would motel personal have air conditioner set to shut off to begin with? Thankfully it was not a very hot night or we would have roasted! I would NOT recommend staying in this motel! Price was comparable to a hotel but certainly not maintained like one. You don't always get what you pay for, customers beware!

I would give this a one star but everything is relative. PEI is a place where a lot of people come to camp so it is not a land of many five star hotels. We stayed here because Air Canada was supposed to get us in around midnight. But with all the flight changes we arrived at 4 PM.

Wow this place needs some TLC!

Our cost including tax was 124 Canadian.
Here are the acceptable amenities:
1) Free airport pick up- very nice
2) Built in shower ( so no dirty grout) Hot Water and good water pressure.
3) Only a 10 minute walk from coaches sports bar and Grill which was very good.
4) black out curtains
5) extremely quiet during the night

At first glance the property is a cute Roadside motel. But when you open the door to the room everything is obviously very, very old. In my opinion the only thing that should be on a hotel bed is everything that can be washed every time a guest leaves. There is a blanket and a bedspread on top of the sheets which I am guessing do not get washed every time a guest leaves.( that is just an assumption.)

The bathroom formica sink is coming apart, there are permanent stains around the toilet on the old linoleum floor, the mattress and pillows are uncomfortable and the mattresses is noisy so you will wake up your partner at night getting up.

The coffee pot was dirty… Which I cleaned with Lysol wipes but don’t bother because the coffee in the room is more like coffee flavored water.
The room appeared to be clean enough but it is depressingly old. If you must stay across the street from the airport for one night it’s fine.

Breakfast consists of ham chunks, scrambled eggs, boiled potatoes, various cold cereals, oatmeal which was cold from sitting out in an uncovered dish for hours, orange juice that was actually very good, and coffee served from (also) dirty / stained coffee pots.

I ticked off a lot of "not sure" on my review as it has been a while since I stayed there but one thing I do remember is that there were no locks on the window, I was on the main floor. I tried but could not get the window to close tight enough and the lock that was there was broken anyway, I will not stay here again and would not recommend to anybody. They really need to improve their maintenance.

Small rooms. Furniture old and very out of date! Decor needs updating.
The newer building however is modern and very nice. Good location.
Directly across form the airport.

I recently stayed at this motel for four nights in October and stayed in the new Inn (not the cottages). My room was a clean, updated room with 2 double beds, television with cable, desk, closet, large new tub, sink, etc. My room overlooked the Inn's quiet backyard and I was able to open my windows & get some fresh air and watch the sunset. This hotel is right across from the airport and you wouldn't even know it. I didn't hear one single airplane. This hotel is very, very quiet and the owners are friendly. I only paid $60 per night and would definitely stay here again.

We recently stayed here for a soccer tournament. At least 8 other families booked rooms as well. When we booked over the phone we were told $79 per night and possibly a discount because we were part of a large group. The rooms were old and inconsistent. Some of us didn't have a fridge while others did and some didn't even have a phone! The television stations were all fuzzy, because they were splicing the cable! When we checked out, our rate was $110 per night. After standing at the counter for at least 15 minutes arguing with a rude, frustrating woman, I finally gave in and paid the amount just so I could get the hell out of there. I even offered to meet her half way at $95 per night, but she just stood there giving me a blank stare. A number of the other team members were told the same rate, which she pretty much accused us of making up. The owners of this motel obviously do not understand anything about customer service! I would never recommend this spot to anyone. If you choose to ignore my warning.....beware of the creepy owner shuffling around the property looking into the rooms!

I stayed here based on the past reviews at this site, and I wasn't disappointed. The room was very simple, and not too big, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. I'd happily stay again, since that's about all I want in a motel.

I found the staff there very pleasant and helpful. The desk man insisted on showing me the room, just in case it wasn't what I wanted, and was very helpful with local information.

The location was very handy as well, for both Charlottetown and the rest of PEI.

The door frame was falling off the front door. The bathroom was disgusting. The worst of worst was the so-called breakfast. Greasy burned potatoes, empty cereal boxes, pale-looking scrambled eggs. The cook lady kept staring at us making sure we didn't take much food. Very awkward behavior.

My worst regret is wasting $94 for a substandard motel dump.

My recommendation to unsuspecting guests...don't even get close.

We stayed at the Sherwood a few times in the last 2 years to attend tournaments in Charlottetown. While it's a little dated, it's clean, not expensive and the service is good. The owner is very friendly and he loves dogs which is a great bonus point for us.

booked three months in advance over the phone, got there this past May with my sister. On arrival they denied our reservation, they said the $69 dollar per night was never their rate. The room did not have towels, a fridge or towels, no Ice available, Hot Tub advertised in their website was our of order for the last 5 years, glass walls all broken and boarded up. At 7 am next morning a phone call from their desk woke us up, a china man in broken English told us to get out because that wasn't our room. Once downstairs he denied it was him who called us pretended not to speak any English. we told him were calling the police in order for him to give us a refund for the rest of the week stay. Waited for almost two hours for the owner to come over to do the transaction to leave the Inn. A week later my sister found that the same night they reversed the refund. She had to deal with the credit card company since she had proof of such refund. We will call this A PLACE FROM HELL
