Detailed Reviews
I suppose the positive of this hotel is its' location, which is more like 15 minutes from downtown, not the five minutes stated on the website. There are restaurants and a mall located within walking distance, but the lack of sidewalks and large parking lots to travel across make the distances seem farther. The rooms can be large (suites), but only the t.v. is really modern. Like everything else in this hotel, things are dated, including furniture and the decor. It really could use an upgrade. All accommodation businesses seemed to have suffered from the pandemic, but staffing here was really short. Those who were there, were a bit overwhelmed, and did their best, but one server in the restaurant is not enough at dinner! The grab and go breakfast was adequate for pandemic times, but there are no alternatives for vegans and gluten-free individuals. Keeping with the times, there was no house-keeping, but everything could be asked for at the front desk, which our group was not informed about beforehand. The bottled water and 24 hour tea and coffee was much appreciated however. Lastly, our group had a number of complaints regarding noise and garbage by various bridal parties running amok during our Friday and Saturday stay. All hotels need to do a better job of enforcing quiet hours and policing guests, this one included.

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and professional. Due to Covid-19 health and safety concerns, the hotel offered a grab-and-go breakfast in lieu of the usual breakfast, so it was nice that they still provided something. The hotel still has many cleaning and safety protocols in place as well, which was comforting. We were extremely disappointed in our room, however. We were the last room at the end of a hallway, next to a vending machine and ice machine. We could hear the motors of these machines, the ice machine making ice, and of course the hotel patrons coming and going, filling their ice buckets, getting items from the vending machine, and having conversations while they went about these tasks. The view from our room was also very disappointing. Our room looked out on another wing of the hotel, so our view consisted of the roof and the side of the hotel. I would post the pictures I took if I could, but that doesn't seem to be an option here. This room (320) should be offered with a DEEP discount, not the $200 plus that we paid. This is not the first experience that I've had where I have booked a room through a travel website and ended up in a similar type of accommodation (next to a vending machine, ice machine, or elevator), so it almost seems that the hotels provide inferior rooms if you book through a travel site rather than directly through the hotel.

Great location with easy access to the main attractions on PEI. Rooms clean and comfortable with fridge, microwave, two queen beds, and flat screen TV with cable. Since trip was during Covid a non contact brown bag breakfast was made available with good choices for breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, danishes, etc.. Towel replacement was done again without contact and was again an efficient process. The hotel was taking Covid guidelines very seriously. Great stay.

+1
i came to this Hotel for work, And the check in was really fast and easy, the front desk staff was polite friendly and professional.
The room was also great, well maintained and very comfortable.
The room was also very quiet and would have been great for a date night if I was on vacation.
The Site also has a Lounge and restaurant, the food was great, and at first I thought the food was overpriced, BOY WAS I WRONG you get a good amount of food for the price and hey If you don't want to eat at the lounge, you got Wine in your room, and several other places to eat around the site.
Overall this place is great to stay at, for work, or vacation.
My only complaint is, a Customer repair card was left in my room after it was cleaned, detailing issues with the phone, My phone did ring a few times during my stay but stopped when I went to bed.
Other than that my stay was great.

Entry into the building with heavy luggage, as welll as loading luggage carts is a nightmare. The fact that ownership and management has not addressed this issue with some relatively inexpensive renovations to your entry doors (ramp, extended outside entry area, etc.) is a real mystery. As a former hotel owner I can tell you that the first impression I had of your facility upon entering and unloading my luggage was terrible!! The rest of the facility, in the common areas, needs to be kept much cleaner and more maintained as well (ie. shampoo carpets, finish repairing walls in hotel hallways, etc.). . The rest of our stay and the room itself was just fine!!
For breakfast, set out bananas and washed apples as the canned fruit is not acceptable. Also find some breakfast sausages that don’t look so wrinkled- there are MANY suppliers to choose from. Take a moment in your kitchen to break up the scrambled eggs that come out of a bag, so they don’t look like they come out of a bag. It won’t cost you any more money.

Stayed here May 18th to May 22nd. Room was clean, beds were comfortable but the heat was very hard to maintain with no temperature setting just a dial which is very outdated. Breakfast was included but let me say it isn't worth anything extra the eggs were scrambled and plastic in texture plus cold just not good, hash browns were dried up, and fruit wasn't fresh tasted like canned fruit. On the other hand they did have yogurt tea and coffee so it wasn't all bad.
One very big bonus is that we got a gift card for 200 dollars for staying four nights as part of a promotion which was awesome.
We were in town for a swimming competition so the pool was a big hit with our group bc of the water slide.
There are nicer hotels in the area so i wouldn't recommend this one unless there's no vacancy at the others. The location is great only minutes from downtown and staff were very friendly.

Rooms spacious and comfortable. Beautiful pool. Toilet barely flushed even without toilet paper. Details like wallpaper being held up by scotch tape. Cleaning details not there. During check-in my husband reports having been ignored for a bit. When we needed items replaced in our room since there was no housekeeping, the hotel was efficient at doing so. Right off a busy road but close to shops.

I booked this hotel last minute and I feel that the pictures were very misleading. My room on the first floor had a conference room outside the window so we had to keep the curtains closed. The decor is very dated and there was visible black mold and/or mildew all around the tub and on the wall by the ceiling and lower on the wall . We were awakened by a speaker on a microphone and a room full of attendees outside our window. The only outlet in the bathroom didn't work at all. We left as soon as we could in the morning.

There were many little problems, which made me think it might be a management issue: The toilet didn't flush properly. The hot water in the shower took 10 - 15 minutes to come on. There was a hole in the curtains. The door to the adjoining room was left unlocked. There was hair in the shower. The shampoo/ conditioner containers were not filled. The hallway was dirty. I would expect all of this in a cheaper hotel, but absolutely not for the $250/night that we were charged!

The Rodd Royalty was great : the friendly welcome at reception was superb, with a dramatic sweeping staircase and nice restaurant / bar area.
I had one of the smaller rooms - small but perfectly formed, clean and comfortable bed with all the amenities you need in the room : clean/working fridge, coffee machine, microwave and large TV, although not a lot of space if you have loads of luggage. The bathroom was also fairly small, but perfectly functional with plenty of clean towels.
Breakfast was fantastic with lots of options, such as cereals, toasts, sausage, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, pastries, choice of juice etc, and plenty of room in the dining area.
The food in the restaurant in the evening was also excellent : I had the chicken alfredo, and noticed a couple of staff members ordering food to take out, which is surely a good sign. This was only open Mon-Thurs though?
The location is good : on the outskirts of Charlottetown, it's only a 15 minute drive in, easy to find if coming from the Confederation bridge and convenient to use a base for exploring some of the sights of PEI.
My planned trip to Rodd Royalty/PEI got cancelled in 2020 due to covid and I only just managed to get back: I was so glad I re-booked Rodd Royalty for a couple of nights instead of one of the other options.

Sorry, I do not know the answer to this
Hi Lori, the hotel is roughly 20 minutes from the closest beach, we do recommend renting a car to see all the great places outside of Charlottetown. Unfortunately we do not have a shuttle to pick up from the airport but taxis are available. Please let me know if we can provide further assistance.
How do you accommodate pets? Is there an area to walk our dog?
