If you are use to a brand name chain, this is not the experience for you. It's the price for downtown Toronto for a reason! It has a great location but the decor is dated, it is located near a fire station, it is in between 2 universities, you can hear the street traffic as well as noise from the hallway and neighbouring rooms-there were not excessively loud, but you can still hear the noise of guests coming and going. We could not sleep there was too much going on all night. The doors are old style access key card, no microwave or fridge. It felt like an older apartment building-washrooms had mold in the grout.

Dear Sue, We want every guest to be able to enjoy our hotel at its finest. We take pride in what we offer however, when a guest encounters anything less than exceptional we are disheartened. We are sorry to learn of the noise disturbances endured - our guests deserve the relaxing and restful experiences they seek. We do offer the delivery of mini in-room refrigerators upon request, subject to availability - we also have Kitchenette Suites for those who may require additional appliances. We hope you let us know what we can do to make your future stays better as we would strive to accommodate you in any and every way we can. We hope you will have a change of heart and allow us another chance to warmly welcome you back. Sincerely, Guest Experience Specialist Chelsea Hotel, Toronto

Lovely hotel. Many times I stayed here and always love it. Great reception great rooms. It is old but it is comfortable. Love the view on the south side. Breakfast available and good choice. Huge property but well kept. I like it very much. Great

It was a prime location in Downtown Toronto. Hotel was superb, facilities were great, room and bathroom were sparkling clean and nice. Elevator was super fast. Paid breakfast was also great as there were plenty of options. Overall great. Attitude of the staff was worse considering the standard of the hotel. When checking-in and checking-out the lady was treating us very badly. Mainly, we ordered some dinner from Skip the dishes. Hotel staff member asked the rider to not to go to the room and leave it in the lobby as they will be handed-over to the room. Somehow they never did. When we called 3 times and asked about it, there answer was they are busy and refused delivering. (As it's Covid season, We didn't want to go down after having a wash) and finally we went to sleep with an empty stomach.

Dear Ruwantha, We are pleased to learn that you thoroughly enjoyed our exciting in the heart of downtown Toronto location and the accommodations provided were well-suited and to your liking! Also, we understand that an excellent breakfast is the best way to start a day which is why we're passionate about serving up high quality, delicious food. We are sorry to hear you did not have the greatest experience checking in and out as that is surely not representative of our warm and genuine hospitality. We do have policies and procedures that must be followed regarding food deliveries - we apologize if you were unaware of this safety protocol in place and especially if it had been communicated poorly to you. Typically, should a guest order food for delivery from outside of the hotel, they must come pick it up in the lobby for security reasons. We hope you will allow us another chance to warmly welcome you back soon for a stay that you are fully contented with from beginning to end. Sincerely, Guest Experience Specialist Chelsea Hotel, Toronto

Overall this was a good visit to Toronto. The location was good that we were able to see a lot of the city (much of it on foot) due to its central location. The only disappointment was that there was no mini fridge in the room. We like to enjoy our beverages, and there was no way to chill anything, or keep our restaurant leftovers.

Very disappointed. A lot of noise all night from other guests. Elevator situation is horrendous; Only 3 out of 6 available, working. At one point I was forced to walk down 18 flights as no one would let me on an elevator because of “social distancing”. Very upsetting. Bathtub was clogged right from the beginning. TV was glitching, maintenance did come to fix it. Very limited food options. I had to go out of the hotel to get basic food items. There were not even any vending machines. I will pay extra to stay somewhere else next time for sure.
