Detailed Reviews
We stayed at this hotel during our recent trip to Toronto, and the location couldn’t have been better—many of the key attractions were just a short walk away, making it super convenient to explore the area on foot.
The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, providing a relaxing retreat after a day of sightseeing. The front desk staff were helpful and even signed us up for their membership, which gave us complimentary Wi-Fi, a nice perk. However, while the room itself was generally clean, I did notice some dust in areas that could have used a bit more attention to detail in terms of deep cleaning. That said, the towels, sheets, and bathroom were all spotless.
We also had breakfast at the hotel, and while the food was good, the ambiance left something to be desired. It didn’t have the warm, welcoming feel we were hoping for. The staff were kind and efficient, though we couldn’t help but notice a lack of smiles or extra friendliness that would have elevated the experience.

Hotel's Favourite
Fantastic! The staff I encountered were all kind and empathetic -- it seemed like they really cared about the guest experience. Air Canada lost my luggage, and the hotel was helpful in supplying me some toiletries and directing me to the Eaton Center shopping mall to buy clothes.
I was attending a conference that took place off-site, but we had nightly cocktail receptions and a gala dinner on the last night, which was truly amazing -- live jazz music, amazing food beautifully presented, and an elegant setting. Room service was also amazing - fast and extremely tasty. The bar is upscale and I was pleased they have a good selection of non-alcoholic drink options.
I requested a quiet room, and received 1044. This room sort of faces an alley, so there wasn't much street noise. It is located next to the elevators, and I could hear the motor move all night, but I think it was still better than having to deal with street noise, given how busy the area is.
Next time, I would love to try high tea and the spa.

As a solo female travelling to Toronto for a business trip, I chose the King Edward primarily for location as it was a short walk from where I needed to be each day. I also wanted a hotel where I could feel comfortable eating alone in the evening or having an after work cocktail.
However, the King Edward delivered so much more. Location for transit is excellent. Union Station is minutes away connecting you with Pearson Int. airport.
And even though I was in Toronto for work, I got to go to the the top of CN Tower one night as it was minutes away. The staff were excellent. I loved feeling relaxed enough to have food and drinks in the hotel bar - the seating is arrange that you can be social or private, with good street views if you just want to watch the passersby.
The standouts were definitely the bed. If I hadn’t had so much to do, I may have never left it! I like that simple things like water and coffee pods were replaced each day. Often hotels will only have these on arrival, which is annoying if you’ve a two or three night stay. My only comment is the room lighting was insufficient for my needs. However the lighting in the bathroom was excellent. As a solo female traveler, I’d highly recommend.

There were events at the hotel each of the four nights we stayed, which was fine until the last night, when we could hear the thumping of the bass in our room. I reached out to guest services at the hotel and was offered a different room (at 10pm, while in my pajamas and checking out the next morning) or earplugs. I tried to reach guest services through the web site and left a message, but never received a call back. I called guest services at the hotel again (spoke to a different person) and was told I was the only room who had called about the music, but they would ask if it could be lowered. For reference, this was a large wedding encompassing the 17th and 18th floors of the hotel and my room was on the 11th floor. The music seemed to get louder and my daughter and I weren’t able to fall asleep until after midnight. When I was asked about my stay at checkout the next morning, I reiterated what happened and again a comment was made that I was the only guest who had called about the music. I was asked to wait and a manager came out to say she was sorry we had a bad night and that next time we stay at the hotel she would comp our breakfast. We travelled from Virginia, USA and the likelihood that we would be back in Toronto anytime soon, made this offer seem intentionally useless. I paid $500/night usd for this hotel and I think it was reasonable to expect a quiet room to sleep in, at a minimum. I have no idea how much a hotel like the Omni charges for a 5+ hour event on two entire floors, but apparently it’s enough that it comes with a guarantee that you can play your music ridiculously loud and the rest of the guests can just use earplugs.

My experience with the Omni began with pre-arrival texting with Madeleine. She asked for any details that hadn’t been included when I reserved etc… she answered questions and fulfilled the request to be on the same floor as a family member (which ended up being right next door to each other!)
We arrived at the valet station to determine what worked best for our parking needs and the attendant was extremely helpful. I’ve experienced in other properties some condescension when valet services are declined but not with this person. He advised the best economical options for us as we were only staying one night. Thank you valet person!
Check-in was smooth; Alex recalled that my daughter was unable to check-in before me (she doesn’t have a credit card at the moment…). Remembering this was impressive as I’m sure he had checked in countless people during his shift.
We received a complimentary upgrade to a corner room. Room was very clean with appropriate amenities. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lotion are very nice compared to other property items of this nature. Beds are extremely comfortable, and the TV has chromecasting abilities, so we were able to stream some of our favourites shows from our preferred streaming services.
Wifi set up was a bit confusing as it says there is a charge but wasn’t actually charged for it… but it worked and had zero issues.
Contactless checkout was easy and checkout is also at 12pm (instead of the traditional 11am). Housekeeping did knock on our door prior to checkout, to which she was unnecessarily unapologetic. Of course, that did not hinder our overall experience. Sad to say we didn’t have any cash for a tip… they certainly deserve a lot of credit as the hotel is spotless!
Didn’t enjoy the restaurant at all, but the menus look great and is priced accordingly for a luxury hotel such as this. I’m sure the food is amazing.
I have worked in hospitality in varying levels of types of service for over 20years with the later half in upper management. Having this insight into what it takes to maintain guest satisfaction on this level allows me to appreciate this is an extremely demanding level of service/hospitality with so many moving parts behind the scenes.
I will be recommending to all of my family and friends. I was truly impressed and completely satisfied with my entire experience.

Wow, wow, wow!
This place is amazing. If you want to feel like royalty, I suggest you try it out.
To begin with, the hotel is immaculate. I don't know how they have the staff to keep this place so clean (room included).
This was our first time to Toronto and I must say we were impressed.
A special shout out to some of the wonderful staff: Jennifer Smith (director of front office), Cameron Carr (concierge), who made us feel at home even before we checked in. No special request was unheeded.
We would also like to recognize the woman that checked us in (trainee), waiter, "Dey" at the Victoria Cafe, Alex from Greece who assisted with check-out and all of the wonderful maids.
A special birthday was met with a birthday surprise upon check in (champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries) and a room upgrade.
Summary of stay:
Hotel itself: Great central location with royal touches and images of crowns everywhere you look. Love the giant "chess pieces" in the lobby.
Great portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and King Edward.
The Victoria Cafe restaurant is a treat and experience by itself. Do try their breakfasts - incredible!
Yes, Toronto is on the expensive side, but this hotel is quite reasonably priced for what you get.
Room - Again, immaculate. We had the King suite, which was a wonderful size.
Included a bedroom with double-doors and block out drapes (for sleeping in).
The bed was comfortable and plush with great pillows and bedding. Beautiful crystal lamps, night tables, dresser drawer space, and a safe. Closet with hangers and plenty of space for your clothes.
The living room had lovely red velvet sofa and chair, along with a work desk, Keurig machine (for coffee) and all supplies needed. Closet with iron/ironing board. HDTV in both the bedroom and separate living area.
The maids tidied up, replenished water (multiple bottles) and supplies TWICE per day. As a plus, they all seemed happy with smiles when you would see them.
Bathroom: Again, very clean with lots of space for your toiletries. Plenty of towels,
consistent hot water, hotel-supplied shampoo, conditioner, soap, vanity items, hair dryer, and lighted mirror. Walk-in shower (no tub).
Service: what more could you ask for? The desk staff, concierge, and maids were there when you needed them and had a pleasant attitude no matter what your request. When the light went out on the bathroom mirror, they were quick to fix it.
Umbrellas available at front desk for rainy day.
Love this place. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely 3 night stay at this beautiful hotel in downtown Toronto.
Helpful team of people work here.
My room was big and spotlessly clean. The quality coffee machine in the room was topped up daily, as was the bottled water. There was an iron, hairdryer, and robe/slippers. A smart fridge and safe box. The shower was huge and had different shower heads.
Great to see plant based options for breakfast as well as in the restaurant/bar. The food was excellent 👌 😋
The hotels location is great and only a 10 minute walk away from Union train station which is a much quicker, more efficient, and cheaper way to travel to/from Toronto airport.
Would definitely stay in this hotel again. Thank you to the fab team who made our stay so lovely.

Overall I liked the Hotel, great location, couldn'tbe better, easy access to tube, tram and walking anywhere, nice helpful staff, heads up to the Concierge, he's amazing, however, there was some things that put us off, there was some wrapping on our room floor from previous guests, the rooms lack some things I consider basic, a bit more light, too much carpet, toiletries in big bottles not small plastic ones, windows that open for fresh air, more options for room service at a bit more affordable price and a buffet breakfast also at a more affordable price, among others. But this is OK there's plenty of breakfast choices around it for far less money.
My toilet had to be repaired, it leaked water all over the place. Had the red message light on the phone on for 3 days without any messages pending. The sink's plug didn't work the first day. The air con was extremely noisy so we had to have it off and wifi worked well but it is a paid service. All in all not the quality you expect on a hotel this expensive. Staff were very nice and attentive.
I would chose a different option next time.

We throughly enjoyed our stay here! The property itself is gleaming and elegant with quiet hallways that make you feel like you’re the only one there. The service is attentive and friendly, and the food is well prepared and beautifully presented. The suites are private and well equipped. Once you step inside your suite you’re in your very own cocoon. We’ll be back!

This is a beautiful hotel. The lobby is a wow! Getting there was interesting with all the construction. Our room was spacious and beds were comfortable. The shower and toilet were in different rooms, but since they both had sinks it came in handy in the morning. On the 8th floor, it was very quiet. Not impressed with breakfast at hotel. Very expensive and eggs in Benedict were cooked too long. Croissant was cold and coffee was very strong. We did eat a delicious short rib pappardelle in bar/dining room. Staff were outstanding from front desk to valets. Short walk to St. Laurence Market (amazing) and Distillery District (touristy).
