Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Nestled near popular attractions, Falls Hotel & Inn at Clifton Hill is a hit with families and casino enthusiasts, thanks to its commendable location. Guests laud the friendly staff, though experiences of service can be a mixed bag. While some find the hotel's atmosphere elegant, others suggest it could benefit from a refresh.
Rooms typically meet cleanliness standards, but there's room for improvement in maintenance. The value proposition is debatable—some guests appreciate the deals, while others are taken aback by hidden fees. Amenities are satisfactory, but the lack of microwaves and certain room issues have been noted.

I very rarely write bad reviews or negative things. But this hotel you do definitely get what you pay for we live three hours away from the hotel the weather was severely bad out so we left early in the day so I have plenty of time to arrive. Check in is at four most hotels if there’s empty rooms will let you get in this hotel is very sticky will not let you in until 4pm and check out is 11 AM I’ll give you a complementary free until 1130am and then it’s $20 an hour so I thought I’d pay that get to 1230 my bad it was till 12 o’clock so it cost me $40 to get to 1 o’clock so that was an extra hour and a half I got so where was my free half an hour lol. I know it’s the off-season but usually the hotels have the vending machine still full pop does not go bad or you can rotate them all the vending machines on all the floors except for the main lobby one are empty. We booked this hotel because I had a pool and a hot tub we went to use the pool we could not go in it it was so cold it felt like you were doing the polar bear dip you could not be in it more than 30 seconds. As for the hot tub being a hot tub owner he turn the jets on the Found up so much and as soon as you walked in it I felt like you were having a slime bath I had to have three showers just to get all the slime off me I let the front desk now they said oh we didn’t know about that I felt like saying when’s the last time you guys looked at your pool area. We stayed 01/03 to 04/2020 in room 606 hope this helps anyone decided to stay here and hopes the hotel upgrade experience for anyone staying in the future

Thank you very much for your feedback. After reviewing your concerns I see that we provided you with an early check-in and there was no charge on your account for a late check-out. Our pool and hot tub facilities are monitored hourly and are consistent with the Niagara Region standards for operation. We hope to see you again!

Great location behind the old Casino, and very friendly desk staff. Courtyard rooms could use some upgrades in regards to the bathroom and the tiling around the Jacuzzi. Also the heater as the room as it was either too hot or too cold.

The location, rooms, staff are all great. The only issue I have is that the staff claim the pool is 75-80F but it is not. It feels more like 60F and my daughter and I could not swim in it. This is my second visit at this hotel. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, location is perfect however each time we go we are told the pool is warm and it is always CRAZY COLD. I called the hotel the day before we arrived and asked about the pool. Was told it was warm and front desk staff assured me both on the phone and during check in that the pool temp was checked hourly and it was warm. I mentioned how we experienced a freezing cold pool the year before and how it's important for a 5 year old to be able to swim if there is an indoor pool. Sure enough, we arrived and the pool was freezing. Even though they assured us hours earlier that the pool was warm, other visitors told us they told them the pool water was replaced earlier and it would take some time for the pool to warm up. Bottom line, hotel is good but staff seem sketchy when they give visitors different stories about the pool temperature. If they aren't honest about that what else are they dishonest about? I would rather be told the correct temperature and plan for other activities rather than waste my time going down to find out we can't swim. My daughter's expectations were to swim in the pool as were mine.

Dear tanyaivey2020, We appreciate your honest input and apologize for the issues you experienced with our amenities during your stay. Our pool area is of utmost importance to us as we understand some guests are looking quite forward to a swim during these winter months. Please know our staff did not mean to come across in such a light as we want all guests to have a wonderful experience with us. Our maintenance team is addressing your concerns regarding the temperature to ensure all is in working order.

If you want to get charged nearly $100 more than your agreed upon price then this place is fine. We chose to stay here as opposed to other hotels we regularly visit in Niagara Falls because it was significantly cheaper than our usual places... until they added all their extra fees. For what we ended up paying, we could have stayed at a much nicer hotel. Staff and management didn’t care to adjust the price, probably since it was the long weekend and they knew we didn’t have anywhere else we could stay as most hotels were completely booked. Besides that, Carpets were dirty as if housekeeping didn’t care to vacuum them in between guests, one of our beds had a big pink stain on the sheets, the towels are old, tiny and very scratchy. They don’t provide complimentary shampoo and conditioner like most hotels, only one small bar of soap (For a family suite). The pull out couch CLEARLY had someone’s used sheets and blanket left on them. We called for more towels and ended up having to call again because they still didn’t show up with them after 3 hours. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone, only thing they have going for them is their location, but there are definitely better ones in that area!

I do a lot of business in the falls, so I am fairly familiar with the area. The hotel my company usually books at was unavailable for a business trip, so they booked me at the falls hotel & inn. It was probably the worst experience I've had in a hotel- ever. The room was dingy & outdated, & there were wet spots on my carpet due to the faulty air conditioning. The staff was of no help. I highly advise against booking ay this location- there are many better options for $10-$20 dollars more & it would be worth it to go elsewhere.

Great location, steps to Clifton Hill. Room was clean and smelled good. We chose a courtyard room because we like the exterior door access, but the beds there are just doubles (we knew this ahead of time, but Queen beds would be a nice upgrade). The beds were comfy with newer mattresses and nice white bedding. Towels were thin and well-used and no shampoo provided, but we brought our own anyway. We chose this hotel for the location, price, exterior access to rooms and indoor pool. We would stay here again.

Flushing cisterns did not work very well
Cleanliness was terrible everywhere, we found too much black long hair on the sheets and pillows and towels and bathroom
The towels were too rough. You could not use them on your body, these are caused scratches on the body
The bath curtain was too dirty. It was like never washed.
The reception told us we can use the restaurant credit for 2 orders or more from everything. Also, she told us, that if you order one entree ( appetizer or main meal) they will count half of the credit.
If we knew that we should pay completely for the bill and we are not able to use the credit, we never went to this restaurant.

A friend and I booked a room as we were just going out for a night in the falls and weren't looking for anything fancy. As others have said, this is a motel and hotel. We were put in the motel part which we were o.k. with since we wanted easy access to outside. However, this part of the motel is a little run down, but not too bad. I can't speak for the larger building (hotel part).
After parking and lugging our stuff up to our room, we entered and saw that housekeeping hadn't finished making up the room from the last guest. I immediately called the front desk and was told that they had made a mistake. The front desk clerk apologized and told me that they were very busy...? This is Niagara Falls! It's always busy! She requested that I come back to the front desk and that they would issue me a new room. When we finally got to our room, it was clean and tidy.
Our neighbours were sitting outside having a drink when a family arrived with keys to their room as the room had been assigned twice. Seemed like the front desk was having a difficult time keeping things straight.
Last complaint: I walked down to the ice machine only to find that it wasn't working (no sign - just tried it and it didn't work). I walked all the way around the motel looking for another machine and couldn't find one. I had to walk back to my room, get a mask, and go back into the main hotel to ask where I could find a machine. I was told floors 2, 4, and 6 had ice machines. I told the front desk clerk that the ice machine wasn't working in the motel area. He just replied "Yeah, I don't think it's working". I stated that there was no sign to indicate this. He replied by telling me to go to the second floor for ice. Not a huge deal, but just seemed unprofessional.
The pros: it's one of the best located hotels in the Falls if you want to be close by Clifton Hill. As I stated above, the room was clean and the bed was also comfortable.
I would stay again if it was only for a night. If I was staying longer or with family, I'd probably upgrade to something a little nicer.

The htoel is perfectly situated in the heart of Clifton Hill, close to the attractions and only a short walk away from Niagara Falls.
We stayed here for 2 nights to view the solar eclipse and paid 4 times the usual rate due to surge pricing. Our room was in the courtyard, the motel portion of the property. The room was clean, not counting the patches of dust in the corners and the peeling paint on the exterior. The property supplies shampoo, conditioner, bodywash and bar soap, and a makeup remover toilette.
The property has a large swimming pool, but we didn't use it during our stay
We tried to have breakfast in the Falls Cafe, but because we could not get anyone's attention, we walked over to the Clifton Hill Family Restaurant for breakfast.

We were annoyed that we had to pay for parking. It should have been free or included in the price. Washrooms needed a vent fan and the rooms needed a mirror. Otherwise, rooms were clean and functional. It was nice to have the fridge. Pool and hot tub were available but were busy so we avoided them. Remington restaurant was excellent.
