Detailed Reviews
The Choice Inn (formerly the Cavalier?) is an older motel that’s been recently renovated. The grounds appear well kept, the room was clean and well equipped with a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. There are no irons (they did not claim there was).
The bed was super soft and comfortable.
The keycard system for your room is NFC, unlike most hotels that are swipe cards, so you can leave the keycard in your wallet and just tap the lock to open, which is handy.
The motel is located basically at the top of Clifton Hill and is a short walk to all the tourist stuff, yet was surprisingly quiet likely due to the road being closed to vehicular traffic.
I had read complaints about the post-Covid continental breakfast; I did not see anything to do with breakfast at this motel, but there are several good breakfast joints in town, and if convenience is your concern there is a diner and food truck right across the street.
The internet worked fine for personal devices, but for the Roku TV (Netflix, etc) it was hit-or-miss, likely due to the weak signal strength. If watching Netflix or online contact is important to you, I suggest bringing an HDMI cable and connecting the TV to your device. TV stations were limited.
If you require room cleaning or towels, I recommend speaking with the office and let them know when you are leaving for the day. Coming back after being out for the day I had to ask for fresh towels, however, I was given them without issue.
I’m not sure if it’s because the motel is old or if it’s a Niagara Falls thing, but there were several brownouts, in addition to the breakers tripping randomly. Keep this in mind if you’re concerned about your electronics, thus I recommend bringing a travel surge protector or charging via a battery bank and then charging the bank from an outlet separately.
The Choice Inn was the best value I could find, its closest comparison was $40/night more, and not walking distance to the Falls or any of the attractions. From this past experience, I would not hesitate to recommend this motel and look forward to a future stay.

When we decided to visit Niagara Falls on a Saturday night on short notice, we were looking for a location near Clifton Hill that would be comfortable enough to stay in for one night without breaking the bank. Many hotels were four hundred dollars or more and the Choice Inn was half that price. I recommend, if you intend to book, booking directly through their website which, in our case, offered a significant discount from the aggregator sites, including this one.
On the positive side, this establishment had a clean room that smelled like disinfectant on arrival. The rooms have plenty of space. The pool, which we did not use, appeared crystal clear. The towels appeared freshly replaced. Parking was free, which was tantamount to an additional $20 savings. Clifton Hill is right there.
On the negative side, although apparently recently renovated, the rooms are still somewhat in an old style. Our bathtub was blue. The rooms are not particularly quiet, and despite being on the top floor, we awoke a few times from noise. It was also common to walk by people sitting outside their rooms smoking, which is their right and certainly better than in room smoking, but isn't appealing to us.
I may have given 4 or 5 stars on value alone, but on checkin, I was asked to pay an additional 10 dollars for the third member of our party (our daughter) who was clearly mentioned in our online reservation. When confronted with the booking confirmation, the clerk said it was because she thought it was a third adult and not a child. But when I went to the room, online it would have been 5 and not 10 dollars more even if our third had been an adult. In summary, make sure you know how much your reservation is for when checking in. That was a minor issue but not one I particularly liked having to deal with.

Thank you for choosing the Choice inn by the falls for your stay. Our team at the Choice Inn looking forward to serve you again in the future. Please note that extra adult fees is $10 per night and up to two children's under 12 years of age can stay free of cost as long as the occupancy rule are met . Any additional child would cost $5 per night.

My husband and I stayed here for a night away from the kids on a Saturday night. Due to it being the weekend, all hotel/motel prices were extremely high. We managed to find this Jacuzzi room (or as they call it, the Honeymoon Room) for $330 taxes included. Keep in mind that during the week, the same room goes for about $150. Their regular rooms go for about $70 during the week.
Check in was very quick and easy and when we got to our room, we were pleasantly surprised. It was very clean and well-maintained. The only issue was that the toilet wouldn't stop running, but my husband was able to quickly fix that problem.
It looks as though this motel has been recently redone. The paint looks new and the rooms are modern compared to many motels in the area.
The location can't get any better. This motel is only a minute walk from Clifton Hill.
If you're travelling with kids and want to make use of a pool note that it is quite small and wouldn't be able to accommodate very many guests at one time. But being guests with no interest in swimming, this wasn't a bother to us.
There were guests on the second floor that blared their music until about 5 a.m. Although it didn't bother us (we're sound sleepers), I'm sure that couldn't have been pleasant for some of the other guests. We did see hotel staff ask these people to turn their music down right after 11 p.m., but it was soon turned up again. I'm not sure if they were instructed to keep it down again as we had gone inside.
Overall, I will be staying here again for sure. I think that whenever we're looking for a cheaper night in a motel room in the area this will be our first choice.

We booked the family suite, which featured three double beds, at a very affordable price. Staff (I assume an owner?) were friendly, and efficient right from check-in to check-out. I had little interaction with any staff, but it was always pleasant.
We had a apartment sized fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Room was quite large, and had a divider that separated off one of the beds to make a bedroom (the pictures of the room on the website are accurate). Nice feature to have when you want some privacy from the kids. Room had two sinks with mirrors, one in the bathroom and one just outside of it...which is great when two girls are doing hair and makeup.
They made good use of space with the amount of furniture. Downside was that there was only one dresser, and two beds didn't have an actual bedside table. However, there was plenty of surfaces to put our stuff.
The room was quite clean, but showed some signs of age. You can tell that they've done upgrades, and I'm sure over time it'll be great. I did especially like the flooring instead of carpet. Just felt that much cleaner. Outside was clean as well, and felt maintained.
It was very quiet. You could hear outside noise, but no drug addicts and such like other reviews have suggested. Even coming back fron Clifton Hill at 2am had us coming back to a very quiet place. It was really nice after a long day.
The motel is located a short walk away from the top of Clifton Hill, is in eyesight of the Greg Frewin Theatre, and an eight minute drive to a Zhers and Dollarama.
I have little complaint about the whole experience. I would have liked it better if the family suite had a kitchenette, or a few more appliances like a toaster (we just happened to bring our own). The beds were a little hard but not unbearable. And maybe in the family suite an extra chair.
I likely will return.

This is the best hotel i ever had stayed. Very welcoming and upgraded rooms. Fridge, microwave, Lcd Smart Tv were all new. Tons of channels. You can watch any movie for free if you have a netflix or even amazon prime account. Also Tv have free roku channels as well. Its just a minute walk to the falls and all major attractions. I also noticed that they are removing the carpet from the rooms and installing the laminate flooring. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who's looking a clean and friendly accommodation just minute away from the fall.

We had a great stay as a family of 5. All in all rooms are exactly as they appear online. We stayed 3 nights in a family room. 3 queen beds were comfortable. Room was equipped with plenty of towels, an extra sink/ dressing area, small but full washroom, clean shower and decently clean room. Microwave, coffee maker and apartment size fridge suited our needs.
Check in was pleasant as was the cleaning staff. Location is 2 small blocks to Clifton Hill which was perfect.
For a decent budget motel it had everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again.
Only negative was the amount of fruit flies in the room and extra cleaning could have been better ;appliances better cleaning and spills on walls, bed skirts could use a wash but that was obviously from the amount of mopping that must be done. Definitely 4* 😊

The good news. Truly is within walking distance of everything, even for this arthritic senior citizen. The beds are wonderful. The shower is wonderful. The blackout curtain is super. Something kept out the noise from the street. ( not the noise from kids running around above us, but that was minor) it has microwave and refrigerator and freezer. Price is affordable. Rooms were clean. AC worked beautifully.
Know in advance, the hotel area is underwhelming at first glance. Niagara Falls hasn’t beautified the area. Also, choice inn should not advertise their pool. It’s perhaps the size of two hot tubs. They should put a phone in the room so you can call the front desk.
The only real downer is, in my experience, they don’t answer emails. Ever. I had to call them to get answers. Granted, their confirmation email was finally found in my spam folder. Maybe my emails ended up in their spam. Who knows
Despite the few negatives, the experience warranted a high rating because of all the positives. I’d stay there again. Slept well, and safely. Easy walking distance to so very much. What else do you really need.

Avoid this place unless you like getting ripped off and want to get infested with bugs. We had a family member who was staying here a few weeks ago who found cockroaches in the bed and in the mini fridge! We were supposed to meet them there but after hearing about this we tried to cancel out reservation and the hotel refused.
