I got a wonderful Hilton Honours rate through Lucky and we checked in quckly.
Our suite was lovely and had every amenity possible. The kitchen area was great and contained a full sized fridge, microwave, oven top and dishes. the living area was lovely and had an extra tv.
The bedroom was very good and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The best part here is the staff. They are warm, welcoming and very well trained. Melanie and here front desk staff are always available and ready to help with anything. They quietly provide masks if someone has forgotten.
The food service was very good here. The bagged breakfast was good-cereal, milk, yogurt and a muffin or breakfast sandwich. Twice they provided a complimentary hot breakfst and once a hot dinner.
there was always coffee and creamer in the suites.
Housekeeping will change bedding if asked to do so.
There are washers and dryers at the end of the hallway.
I did use the pool, although you need to book it and get a key. It is lovely and very clean.
I would not hesitate to stay here again. The staff is wonderful and they provide a clean, safe environment during Covid.
However, the bed had hair on the pillow as well as several different types of hair, including pubic, on the bedsheets. There was also blood.
This seal of cleanliness is misleading consumers and puts the public at great risk. We booked the hotel for three nights, checked out after an hour and won’t return.
Doing some considerable travelling over the past few weeks, I’ve stayed at three other Hilton properties in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick. I can say without hesitation that this was the most disgusting and disturbing room I have ever stayed.
I do not, under any circumstances, recommend this hotel. Stay at your own risk.
- very large spacious suite
- parking space
- responsiveness of the staff
- wifi quality
- basic but sufficient breakfast
What I liked less:
- location is not optimal, the hotel is located about two miles from the city center, one needs to drive to get dinner or to walk by the lake
- the bathroom tub was dangerously slippery, we need to ask for a rubber carpet which was provided in the evening
- they have a policy of cleaning the room only after the second night of a stay - this was not communicated at booking or check-in
- very expensive
Few issues:
Coffee was cold the first morning. It was Monday morning and it seemed to be the least occupied of the nights we stayed, so the staff did not seem on top of that.
There was no coffeemaker in my suite. Seems like a fairly standard item that would be inside of any hotel room, but not here. There were coffee cups and coffeemaking supplies, but the machine was absent. Seems that housekeeping needs to check their checklist better.
Elevator moves VERY slowly.
This is not the hotel's fault, but there were several loud children running in the hallways as late as 12:30 AM one night. Figured out who they were because we were heading out for the day and recognized their voices in the hallway. The parent was short on discipline. One child was playing a video very loudly and we were forced to listen to it since it took over 2 minutes for the elevator to show up. We entered the elevator quickly and pushed the button for the ground floor and the door started to close, so for a quick second I thought that maybe the parent was going to be considerate and not continue to subject us to her loud, obnoxious, and undisciplined children. NOPE! The door opened back up and the children started shuffling in slowly and loudly and the parent made a comment that this was the only elevator to her children. Sometimes we get to see the worst of other people and this was one of those moments.
"There in only one elevator and it operates a bit slow. Lower floor rooms could use the stairs more efficiently."Read full review
