Nestled in a prime spot with direct access to the Whistler Gondola, The Westin Resort & Spa, Whistler, is lauded for its convenient location near shops and restaurants. While the comfortable and well-appointed rooms with kitchenettes are a hit among many guests, there are mentions of noise and maintenance issues.
The hotel's service receives mixed reviews, with commendations for professionalism juxtaposed against critiques of room preparedness and extra charges. Despite the praise for clean rooms and a modern atmosphere, some travelers question the value, citing additional costs and underwhelming amenities.

Well positioned hotel close to the lifts. Our 1 bed suite was fairly well equipped with fireplace and kitchen (although no tray for heating anything in the oven). However, as there are no hooks for skiwear or radiators you have to crank up the heating in the room and try to dry things in front of the fire (pet annoyance the heating control switch was cock eyed on the wall). Unlike European ski hotels there is no ski room with boot warmers.
The house keeping was poor. When we checked in, albeit early, they said that they would prioritise cleaning our room and call us. Over 4 hours later it was still not ready and they changed us to another room. First couple of days we had a card to put out saying when we wanted the room cleaned but this then disappeared. A few days later the room had not been cleaned by the time we got back from skiing and the following day they forgot to do it altogether. Complained and they came and did it but things did not improve as they did not clean in the mornings as we requested and again it was not done by the time we got in. Replacing water etc was also a bit random.
We went to the spa/swimming pool where there was a sign on the wall saying that they were “currently refreshing it” and it certainly needed it. The jaccussi has lots of missing grout and discoloured plastic fittings, surely a health hazard.
Finally they take $50 from your credit card when you check in but when you check out they said it would be 3 to 5 days before they refunded the money. A bit of a cheek.

The suite was really large and felt big enough to host 4 people. There is also a full kitchen that you can cook your own meal if you want. The living room is amazing with its own gas fireplace. The bed was very comfortable and my only complaint is the TV mount in the bedroom… I mean it could be a lot better (see the photo)

Great location, adjacent to the Gondola entrance to go top of the mountain and literally in the village. Lots of trail walks nearby as well. Everything is walkable distance away even for groceries or food options.
The breakfast was great for a western hotel standard (although not same as asian or arab buffet standards) but it had enough options on the buffet other than the usual scrambled eggs and potatoes.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable including lobby and corridor. For long travelers, the hotel also has self coin operator laundry which is a bonus. A large underground car parking. But my only issue was the price per night for car park ($30 I think) for a location where you can expect everyone to arrive by car.
Overall, we had a good stay and thoroughly enjoyed the resort. Highly recommend and would definitely come back if we return to Whistler.

3 of us stayed in a 1 bedroom suite with a balcony in the East Tower. Room 801. It was spacious and we had excellent housekeeping services. We enjoyed massages at the spa and spent time in the outdoor pool & hot-tub. We thought the outdoor spa area was way too small for a hotel this size. In the winter I recommend avoiding a car. Use the shuttles to and from Vancouver. The primary reason that we will come back here is the ideal location of the hotel. You can walk to everything and the gondola is less than a minute away if you’re skiing. We found the Fire & Ice hotel bar to be one of the best in the village for craft cocktails. The main hotel restaurant was good for breakfast the first day, but we bought groceries at the village store & happily made our own in the kitchen of our room. Ka-Ze sushi was a great choice for dinner. Contact the hotel concierge to help you with dinner reservations anywhere in the village. Justin did a great job for us and even emailed me a complete list of our reservations for the week. Book ahead for everything at least a month in advance. All of the higher end restaurants in the village were excellent. We stayed over Christmas week when all the hotel rates are at a premium. If you’re new to a Canadian resort destination be ready for the premium prices. This hotel required a full deposit in advance by mid October with no cancellation option. I’ve never seen anything like that in all my travels. But we would go back in a heartbeat. The Atmosphere here is that good!

We had a fabulous stay at the Westin, location is great, when we checked in we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite, with a balcony and amazing views of the mountains, the suite was huge and such a comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen, coffee maker, we were really delighted with it. Used the pool, small but lovely outdoor area, also used gym, small but well equipped. Bar and bar food was good and great underground parking that we used for our first night - we used overnight parking at the convention centre on the other nights as it was much cheaper. Didn't have breakfast as there were so many other great options in Whistler, Lift Coffee right across from the hotel is amazing. I'd happily stay here again and recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located right next to the main gondola entry and the village stroll, which makes it extremely convenient to access everything, while being farther from the noise from the restaurants and bars that we experienced while staying at other location in the area. Everyone we interacted at the resort were very helpful and polite (at the checkin, restaurant, etc). The hotel has separate levels for checkin and exiting toward the shops/village stroll which makes the flow much easier. The suites are well designed and the view of the mountains was amazing. Overall, Westin stands out over all the other locations we stayed in Whistler.

So disappointed in our stay at the Westin in Whistler. I splurged for a nice hotel hoping we would sleep comfortably away from the noise of the party crowd on the weekend, so we could enjoy our daytime adventures. Instead we were kept awake until 2am by a barking dog left in a Westin room by its owner. It barked for hours and and hours, for 2 nights in a row. When this issues was brought up with management, they refused to provide any compensation as we didn’t have extra room charges they could come (because the restaurant preferred we charge to card rather than room) and I was told the value of the comp would only be $25, so they wouldn’t comp us a night despite my family whole family being miserable from lack of sleep which absolutely ruined 2 days of our 3 day trip. I’ve never experienced such horrible customer service and stay at a high end hotel. Do not recommend. Spend your money elsewhere!!

We stayed here for 2 nights in a standard room which was more than fine, clean tidy and quiet. We had dinner here one night which was good. Breakfast was basically ok and fairly standard. There were washing machines and dryers which you paid for on each floor which was very handy. Each room had a medium sized fridge, hot plate and microwave.

I recently took our family to Whistler and we stayed in the Westin. Our boys are now adults, so I got rooms for each boy and their girlfriend and my wife and I. This hotel has unbelievable attention to detail, service and room quality! I travel extensively for work (125+ nights/yr all over the world), and this hotel is truly one of my favorite in the world! The rooms are comfortable, clean and new looking decor, and very well maintained. The staff is ready, willing and able to help at a moments notice. Although they cannot guarantee status upgrades, they always try their best, and the very high quality breakfast before an active day hiking, biking or skiing (free for Pl/Ti/AM via the Marriott Elite Benefits program) are the perfect start to the day! In my opinion, the people always make the difference, and you can just tell everyone was happy and committed to ensuring we had a great stay! The concierge team even helped us put some gifts in the boys rooms and left a Birthday Treat" for one of the girl's birthdays!
We are also big skiers, and WB is our favorite resort, and we have found that the Westin is the perfect location (hotel is attached to the Whistler Gondola). In our opinion it is the ONLY place to stay in Whistler!!

Stayed for one night in a studio suite, the entry level room, during Labour Day weekend.
I have to say that Whistler on a holiday weekend wasn’t for me - ridiculously overcrowded and overpriced. However, the Westin felt like an oasis of calm in a manic resort town and as expected for this brand, both room and public areas were exceptional.
Check in/out straightforward and staff helpful. Parking seemed a bit limited, with many bays reserved.
Our room was large and comfortable, equipped with everything we could have needed with fully equipped kitchen area, sofa, fireplace and one of the cosiest beds I’ve ever slept in. Bathroom was average size, functional but nothing special. Decor was high quality and felt suitably luxurious.
Didn’t pay for breakfast here due to price but, in hindsight, with everywhere else in town extremely busy on this weekend perhaps we should have.
Only misses out on five ‘stars’ due to exceptionally high prices e.g. parking, but this is an extremely popular tourist town.
