Convenient facility to move around downtown Vancouver, even on foot. The room at first pleasant impact, even if the bathroom had been roughly cleaned (hair in the shower and a new tampon on the cabinet). As soon as you used the toilets and shower you began to smell damp that pervaded the whole room for the 4 days of the overnight stay. Towels in some circumstances to be reviewed. Given the price paid, a little more attention. Ps: room without possibility to open windows.

In 25 min walk all the important sights are to reach, as far as good, unfortunately we disturbed that the direct environment was full of homeless and addicts, even in front of the hotel was loitering, so we did not feel quite comfortable. But it's not the hotel's fault. Extremely disturbed us, that not a single employee at the reception got a “good day” or something out when a guest entered the house, that doesn’t work! No greetings, no “nice day” or similar - but private conversations in front of the guest! Also, we looked out of our room directly at a house wall, really not nice. The pillows were a disaster and the beds were no better. Restful sleep was not possible after a long day on the feet here. What we liked was the large communal kitchen on the PH floor with roof terrace and great views, also the kitchenette in the room was practical. The underground car park was nice and empty and the parking lots easily accessible.

Dust everywhere, spider in the bathroom. Wheelchair accessible only through the front door. It's three stairs from parking to the elevator, elevator filthy and not protected from outsiders (key card restrictions not functioning). Not even a hot tub for $460 and a small filthy room.

We arrived late in the evening, check in was very slow, but friendly. We went to the room and found the air conditioning was broken, but did not contact reception as it was late and our children were asleep. My husband used the bathroom and when he flushed the toilet sewage water flooded out though the lid of the toilet soaking the bathroom floor and into the main bedroom! We contacted reception straight away and they came up, as the employee went into the bathroom to get some towels he touched the towel rail and it completely fell off the wall! We were offered another room, which we obviously accepted, but there was no offer to help move our things with us, even though our two young children were sleeping. The new room smelt of damp, the security latch was broken and the tv didn’t work! I spoke to reception the next morning and contacted them via message and was advised to email my concerns in, which I have done and have had no reply from either. We have also observed large rats standing by the door from the car park to the hotel entrance and have had no milk/creamer/coffee mate in either room and when I asked reception for some they said maybe check back tomorrow we don’t have any. So unable to make any hot drinks. Only positive is the short walk from the hotel to Granville Island.

Our 3 families accompanied by infants and kids stayed at Grand Park Hotel & Suites Downtown Vancouver, Ascend Hotel Collection and had an extremely unpleasant stay and experience as not only the rooms were extremely substandard but the front desk representative who called himself GK (refused to disclose his name) was extremely rude and insulting at the checkout time. We took 3 rooms and found bad odour, stained towels & bed sheets, dirty floor and broken shower knobs upon check-in. In return for our complaint a manager called Shivam, who was respectful and apologetic, at least tried to appease us while blaming the 3rd party house keeping provider for all the issues.
The biggest shock came at the check out when this gentleman, who identified himself as GK (refused to disclose his name) humiliated us saying that he wanted to evict us for complaining and giving our honest feedback. Not only that, he also threatened to claim our security deposit for all substandard / non working items. We are all so shocked and disturbed at GK’s behaviour and couldn’t believe that a Choice Hotels managed property was represented by someone with such threatening threatening behaviour, poor etiquette and service level. We were vacationing from different parts of Canada for a family reunion but instead of leaving with unforgettable memories, we left extremely disturbed and with horribly bad experience. We have completely lost trust in Choice Hotels managed properties and would like to share all the details / evidence with someone in leadership to save future guests this unwarranted harassment.

A nice place to stay in downtown Vancouver. The view of downtown skyline during night time from the pent house is a delight. Room is very clean and tidy. All the staff are very pleasant and helpful. Spacious room, great bathroom. Excellent location. Easy walk to Canada Place from where you can get free shuttle to Grouse Mountain, Capilano Suspension Bridge park. Easy walk to Stanley Park, also to catch aqua bus to Granville Island.Also close and easy walk to train station. Many restaurants in walking distance.
