The Rosedale On Robson Suite Hotel garners appreciation for its central location and the spacious, comfortable rooms that include kitchenettes, despite the need for a decor refresh. Guests regularly praise the friendly service, even as some express concerns over breakfast and check-in processes.
The hotel's cleanliness earns commendable remarks, and for many travelers, it represents good value due to its reasonable pricing and proximity to Vancouver's key attractions. However, the breakfast atmosphere and additional charges, alongside the dated amenities, are areas suggested for improvement.

Detailed Reviews
We booked a 1 bed apartment for a 2 night pre-cruise stay. We travelled as a couple + 1 friend and the cost of the condo versus booking 2 hotel rooms gave us a great saving. We were expecting budget accomodation, but were happily surprised at the quality of the accomodation, it was also very clean and very comfortable and ample for our group. We requested a room on a low floor and were allocated a room with access to a rooftop terrace which was an extra bonus.
Staff were friendly and helpful and we loved the bar/restaurant (Original Joes) attached to the propery and ate there both days of our stay.
There are loads of places to eat and drink near the hotel. We had a great breakfast one morning in Frankies Italian near the BC Place stadium. We also jumped ona hop on hop off tour just around the corner from the hotel, near the Hilton and had a great day exploring the city, Stanley Park and Granville Island - another great stop for food and drinks in the food hall/market.
For anyone staying here pre-cruise, the property is about 20 minutes walk from Canada Place, however we grabbed a taxi right outside of the hotel and it only cost CAD$10 to get to the port.
Would definately recommend this property for value for money good quality accomodation.

Quite an extensive interview. It sounds like things went well for you in Vancouver. Just to clarify for those reading your review, you were on the second floor, Garden Level, which has a large patio and seating area. Thank you for all your feedback.

A very convenient spot - easy walking distance to plenty of Vancouver’s attractions. The desk staff were pleasant and friendly. Our king room was ready on time, but was not as advertised. The website has recently been changed, it seems, and washer/ dryers are not in the rooms as the hotel suggested when we booked in February. Very disappointing. There are paid machines on every second floor, however.
The room itself was relatively spacious with a separate lounge, small kitchenette (2 burner stovetop, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, bar refrigerator) and plenty of linen. No room service in the three nights we stayed, but didn’t need it.
But the rooms are not soundproof from the road- and you are right next to the fire station, so be prepared for sirens fairly often. However, we couldn’t hear the neighbours, which was great.
It was adequate for our needs.

Thank you for your review. By your description of your accommodation, I believe that you were staying in suites run by Rosedale Condominiums or VI Resorts. For instance, we, as the hotel, give daily housekeeping service, we have 3 burner stoves and we have not changed our website for 5 years. The desk staff are ours and we contract our services to the other two companies. The fire hall is close to us and mainly responds to medical calls. It can be very busy if ambulances are not available.

I stayed here on a business trip last month. I shared a suite with a colleague and very enjoyed the shared space with separate bedrooms. We were directly across from the elevators and I never heard any noise from the elevators or other guests. Mind you the city noises were over the top! I'm not used to being in a big city and the hotel is across from a fire department. Many people would not even notice. I slept well due to the nice bed, duvet and pillows. My colleague thought otherwise but it was superb for me. The room was difficult to get to a nice heat, but other than that, the room was very comfortable. The hotel advertised that they had bags to dispose of food, so that it was not mixed with the garbage. I never saw a bag during the many nights I was there? Also, I did not like the paper cups in the breakfast area. Surely you can go back to ceramic cups and plates. Think of the waste??! Another big waste are the Keurig coffee machines! Please go back to those old coffee makers! Another downside is the lack of change rooms for the pool. I don't like sauntering through the hotel in my bathing suit. The Jacuzzi was lukewarm and the jets were "asleep"???! I wouldn't call them jets, more like "purrs", however the steam room and sauna were great! The hotel staff from the desk, to housekeeping to concierge's were fantastic! They responded to any request and were very helpful and cheery. That's important for tired travellers. The location is ideal for concerts and hockey games. Also, one can walk to just about anywhere you might want to be, downtown. Finally their coffee is good, which is not usually my experience with hotel coffee.

Thank you for such an extensive review. I will try to answer some of your comments. There is an organic waste bag in the cupboards above the stove. We do have ceramic cups in the breakfast area so I will have to see why the paper cups were in use. There should have been ceramic plates as well. There are changes rooms (male/female) just beside the pool area. The rooms have washroom facilities as well as showers. As for the old coffee makers, we had so many complaints we had no choice but to switch to something else. Further we are part of a recycling program with Van Houtte to handle the used KCups. We are trying to be greener and will continue to improve.

Central hotel, very close to everything there is to see in Vancouver.
We always got around on foot without any problems.
Very large room, with sitting room and kitchen (which we didn't use but nothing seemed to be missing).
Very clean. Price that could be considered almost low compared to the majority of hotels in the city. In the end, $200 a night in downtown Vancouver isn't bad at all.
Car parking is very expensive in my opinion.
They could also include breakfast in the price of the room since it is not continental. There are fruit, juices, yogurt, toast and packaged croissants for $10 per person. Served in a not too nice and very small room. It's true that in any bar it would cost at least double, but given the cost of the rooms they might not even charge you.

We like a living room area and a small kitchen. We were able to keep food and drinks in the room which helped with expenses. The room was very clean even if it was dated in decor. The location is very convenient to Yaletown and to the west end so lots and lots of great restaurants, Granville Island via ferry, and the river walk. We even were close to a casino. We would absolutely recommend. However, there was a charge for parking and for the timeshare beyond our search fee so an additional $368 was added to our bill for a 7 day stay. Seemed a bit pricey.

Thank you for all your comments. As for the timeshare charges, we the hotel, do not impose them We will share your thoughts with Vacation Internationale, the time share. As for the parking fee, that is a negotiated discounted rate for those staying in the hotel tower. The owner of the parkade would normally charge at least $10.00 plus taxes per day more. Once again thank you for your feedback.

Whenever we travel to YVR from Australia we stay at the Rosedale and we are never disappointed. My kids love the treasure chest at the front desk and were spoilt with toys from the ladies at the front desk. We arrived at 8:30am after a 15 hour flight and they had our room ready to go which we were sincerely grateful for. We had a one bedroom suite which was large enough for 2 adults & 2 children. The little kitchenette is handy (could do with a kettle though).
Breakfast is great - it’s continental and they have cereals, toast and huge muffins + a coffee and juice machine.
The indoor pool was a bit cool for us, but we loved the spa.
Perfect location in downtown YVR, walking distance to shops, Roger’s Arena and the waterfront.
Bell staff very helpful.
Had dinner once at Original Joes. Was fine!
Will always be our first choice in YVR.

Great hotel and not exactly cheap in general (but by Vancouver standards yes). It is in a good location and, if the allocated room is high enough, enjoys a decent view of the city. Large rooms and, at least in our case, with a rather stocked kitchenette. Bathroom a bit dated but fully functional. It is possible to have breakfast in the hotel at a reasonable price: the quality is not top but the variety makes it possible to refresh properly before the rounds of the day. Staff helpful and efficient. Good accommodation for a few days in this beautiful city.

The reception and concierge staff were friendly and helpful with suggestions and directions. Parking was easy, but we were very off season, so could be harder in summer. The location is great for food, coffee, groceries, and sights. We cooked breakfast in our room each day- after going to IGA. We could walk to Gastowm Canada Place, or ny other location we wanted to be in about 15 minutes.

Thank you for all your comments. It is good to hear that your team treated you well. As for the parking, the parkade is regularly busy year round. The difficult times are during events such as Taylor Swift or popular Vancouver Canuck games.

In a city of eye wateringly expensive hotels, this offers good value. The service was very good, particularly from the concierge staff who were always pleasant and helpful. The rooms are a good size and the shower has great pressure. The hotel would benefit from a bit of an upgrade and the towels are rather small and thin (something I’m not so they only just did the job!) and the air con rather noisy but overall a good choice for value and location.

We arrived and were warmly greeted by wonderful staff. The luggage was stored so we could attend the Matinee performance at 2 pm.
Arriving back and checking in was smooth and information was shared by the Happy friendly staff.
We found our Suite on the 7th floor to clean and spacious for an older establishment. The huge widows allowed a view of the lights at night and the shops that surround the location.
After a very relaxing and comfortable sleep we headed to the breakfast lounge. Once again a warm and inviting reception to start our day.
The boiled eggs, variety of toasts and croissants plus fruits were enjoyable.
The cappuccino coffees and teas plus Orange apple and cranberry juices provided nice options.
The Consieurrs Tim and staff help load the luggage onto the bus and made sure we had everything and EVERYONE...on the bus.
I will be returning in the future to enjoy a few days of treasure hunting in the many shops and boutiques in the area.
In sumerization, an enjoyable experience and pleasurable stay.

Great simple to use washing machines
I believe it was around $30/day. You'll need to verify with the hotel. You do get in/out access. The lot appears clean and safe. Parking spaces are small
That is a very interesting question. Reading between the lines, does this suggest that someone has or may have Covid and needs to comply with Canada's self-quarantine policy?
I believe there is a Canada-approved list of hotels for self-quarantine cases but I am not sure.
Have you tried calling Rosedale on Robson to ask? I've called them in the past and they are very helpful.
I checked the Canada website and this is what they list as the Vancouver approved quarantine hotel:
List of government-authorized hotels for 3-day quarantine
Vancouver International Airport
Westin Wall Centre Vancouver Airport
Hope this is helpful. I would still call Rosedale on Robson and ask them directly.
Hi, unfortunately don't have an answer to your question as we flew in from Toronto. Sorry.
