The Blue Horizon Hotel garners praise for its spacious, clean rooms and is often described as having a comfortable atmosphere, albeit with some dated decor. Guests appreciate the warm service and meticulous attention to cleanliness throughout the property. Despite its many accolades, some visitors mention noise disturbances as a downside. The hotel's prime location on Robson Street, near shops and attractions, is frequently highlighted, as is the value it offers despite occasional remarks about the cost.

The rooms are so spacious and comfortable, it is difficult to fault this hotel. The location is fantastic - not too far from anywhere ( 20 mins walk to Stanley Park or English Bay or Gastown) and of the highest standards of housekeeping. Loved the views and the comfortable beds. We greatly appreciated the availability of our room when we arrived early in the morning (9am) after an all-night flight. Check-in was a breeze and the front desk very well trained. The hotel probably deserves 5 stars but it doesn't provide breakfast (though there are plenty of nearby options), the foyer gets a bit busy due to its restricted size and it's a bit pricey. Still, I'd highly recommend the Blue Horizon. I love it.

Amazing views from our Queen Seaview with Balcony on the 24th floor of the Blue Horizon.

As a person with mobility issues I was very happy to have a walk in shower with grab bars and minimal floor ledge into the shower (less than 2 inches). However the toilet was a little low.

Housekeeping kept the room pristine and the amenities such as coffee pods stocked up (there is a Nespresso compatible ciffee pod machine in the room).

Our corner room had a lot of windows across 2 walls, allowing heaps of light in.

At street level there is a small restaurant that serves delicious breakfasts at a reasonable price.

My friend and I stayed at Blue Horizon for the Eras Tour in December of 2024. The hotel and staff really went above and beyond to make our experience so memorable and one we'll never forget! The entire staff was so welcoming and kind! They played only Taylor Swift in the elevator 4 nights/5 days we were there! It was like a little party every time you rode the elevator... They truly brought guests together with that little touch! It was so fun to see everyone's reactions to the music during the ride up or down. They also made us friendship bracelets and put them in our room with cookies... However, they weren't just any cookies... They had made Taylor's Chai Sugar cookies but labeled them "Blue Horizon's Version". Any Taylor fan has to genuinely appreciate what they did there! I can't say enough about how polite, kind, helpful, courteous, happy, and outgoing the staff was. Everyone we interacted with was just so lovely. Our room was very cozy. We had a corner room, with a wonderful view and lots of space, with a desk for working or making friendship bracelets... Onsite parking was easily accessible, safe, and very reasonably priced. The location of the hotel is 10/10. You can walk anywhere and everywhere. Lots of great restaurants, stores, within walking distance. I cannot recommend Blue Horizon enough! Stay here and you will not be disanointed! I can't wait to come back and visit Vancouver and have another epic stay at Blue Horizon!

The hotel was a wonderful choice for our 5 night stay. We were looking for a downtown hotel with a reasonable price, good location, and view. We would definitely stay there again.

It exceeded our expectations. It was a perfect location especially in December. It’s in the midst of a lively shopping area with plenty of neighborhood restaurants. We loved the people watching and seeing the bustling holiday activity. Bus #5 runs right outside on Robson Street with frequent service toward Stanley Park and beaches in one direction and downtown and the cruise ship piers in the other. You can walk to downtown in 10 min or so, but it was nice to have the ride option at the end of the day. A London Drugs was a few doors down the street and was a convenient location to buy our DayPass Compass card which permitted us unlimited daily travel on the buses and other metro transit systems.

We had an upper floor room (26) with amazing views of the city and the water to the west (English Bay view room). I think all the rooms are on a corner (with balcony) which gives them windows on two walls allowing for sweeping views. The neighborhood to the west is still largely high rise free so we could see for miles. The room was very clean, the beds comfy, and all in good condition. Our bathroom was a little tight, but was modern with a walk-in shower (no tub). The room had a Nespresso machine, small refrig, but no microwave. We didn’t use the aircon or heat. The building seemed warm and we kept our door to the balcony open most of the day/nite for fresh air. We were high enough that the traffic noise didn’t bother us and it quieted down at night.

We ate breakfast at the café (Abode) in the lobby a couple mornings and thought the food was reasonable and quite good, but there are numerous bakeries and a Tim Hortons nearby. As mentioned, there are an unending option of eateries within walking distance. If you like Japanese food, this is the place for you. Ramen, tonkatsu (try Saku down the hill), sushi, you name it, it was everywhere. The neighborhood has a kind of “Japantown” atmosphere, but there are other Asian eateries, as well as more standard western fare.

Highly recommend. We paid about US$200/day (incl. taxes) for the room, but this was Dec. Probably significantly more during the summer cruise season.

My wife and I stayed three nights in this fantastic hotel for a vacation. The location on Robson Street is perfect with so many restaurants, shops and coffee places nearby. It is walking distance to the cruise ship terminal, Skytrain, water taxi, and Stanley Park. There is ample parking to keep your car.

Our room was so comfortable with stunning views on two sides, including the water and mountains. We were so fortunate to be on the 29th floor! Every suite has a balcony to enjoy. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room also had a safe, a large closet with robes and a mini fridge. The washroom had a large shower with two shower heads.

The staff were always friendly and helpful, including storing our luggage for our late flight home. The elevators were also extremely fast. I can't say enough about the Blue Horizon other than I can't wait for my next stay there.

We booked this hotel pre cruise, we paid for the upgrade to floor 27 and had a great view of the harbour when standing on the balcony, if we returned we wouldn’t pay as the view was just ok. The breakfast in the restaurant was good but you had to pay for separately, and it was only open for breakfast so if you wanted to eat or drink later you had to go out. In the reception there was a machine to top up your drink bottles with water. The room was comfortable and clean. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The free bus to Capilano Bridge stops right outside which was a great day out

I booked this hotel through agoda and got a good deal, considering the busy December season.

Super convenient location to explore Vancouver Downtown, walkable to most attractions along Robson, Granville, Gastown and even just 15-20 walks to the water.

Room is very spacious, enough for our big winter travel luggages while still having enough space to move around the room. One thing I don't like about it is that the more hidden areas of the room aren't cleaned. I saw a lot of items under the bed from previous stays and the dust build up at the edge of the room by the bed is really thick. Obviously, they only cleaned the visible areas. I don't normally look beyond that as long as the linens and bathrooms are clean. I know carpets are dirty despite vacuuming but that can't be helped as most hotels have carpeting. But this caught my eye as the light was unplugged and I had to look for a power socket at the back of the side table.

Also a bit outdated but not old and dirty, looks like there were renovations made either way. Every room has a balcony which is cool. Even during winter, it was nice to step out to get some air. At the time of our visit, construction on the street was being done, so some areas not passable, a bit of inconvenience for pedestrians but not the issue of the hotel anyways.

On Robson Street, the hotel is within easy walking distance of the harbour, Stanley Park and the False Creek Ferry, plus shops and restaurants. Reception was very friendly and helpful, especially the young man who was on duty during the first few days of our stay. Our room was on the 9th floor so was quiet, although we didn't get a view of the harbour from there. The room was large, with chairs and tables, a comfortable bed, black-out blinds and aircon that was not too noisy. The bathroom looked brand new, with a walk-in shower with a good solid sliding door, white towels and shower gel/shampoo etc. The lighting in the room was better than the other hotels we had stayed during our trip. We had breakfast in the restaurant twice, there is a good selection to choose from the menu, the staff were friendly and efficient, and the food was nicely presented and cooked well.
We can highly recommend this hotel.

The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Better than my expensive mattress at home.

Room size was very good. We were visiting for 4 nights so was nice to be able to bring food back to the room to eat. As a bonus they have a microwave oven and filtered water available on the ground floor.

The cafe/restaurant was very good for brunch. We visited twice and were happy both times with food very good, quick and reasonably priced.

View from our room on floor 20 was very good over the water. I imagine even better higher up. But please put a couple of chairs on the balcony to sit on and appreciate said view.

The spa was nice. Made the muscles feel much better after a long day walking.

The hotel is in downtown and you can walk just about everywhere. Lots of food places close. We caught an Uber to our cruise terminal (only $10) but we did walk it several times. Just caught the Uber due to the suitcases.

If you do the Capilano suspension bridge they pickup from outside the hotel.

My negatives of our trip (and they certainly didn't spoil it):
If you have a balcony please put at least a few chairs on it. The view was great but not able to sit out there kind of sucked.

Our fridge started making a high pitched whine and maintenance "fixed it" by turning down the thermostat. Which of course didn't fix it. This was on our last day and was a bit disappointing when we got back it was still playing up. I disconnected it so it didn't affect our sleep and reported to the desk and explained they needed to "talk" to the maintenance guy about actually doing his job.

I recently stayed at the Blue Horizon Hotel, for 11 days in late January 2024. I have stayed at the Blue Horizon, dozens of times since the late 1990’s principally for business. The west-central location is excellent for both business people and tourists as it is an easy walk to downtown, the convention center, Coal Harbor, the West End, as well as Stanley Park. It also is a short walk to two different SkyTrain stations, including the SkyTrain Canada Line which takes you directly to the airport. Nearby are good restaurants at all price levels, as well as a bank, a great local coffee place, a 24-hour bakery with food/coffee/tea, a drug store, a BC liqueur store, and a grocery store. Pretty much everything you need for an extended stay.

The hotel setup is a bit unique. There are only 8 rooms per floor, and all rooms are corner rooms with lots of windows and a balcony. The bathrooms are small, but a remodel a few years back utilized the space they had very well and makes them feel more spacious than they are. The rooms include a good size closet, a small safe, a small refrigerator, coffee maker and a hot water pot for tea.

One reason I keep coming back is the staff. They are great and straightforward to deal with. As an example, this last visit I had an issue with the heating system after I returned to my room after 9 pm. I contacted the front desk and 5 minutes later the night maintenance manager was at my room door. He addressed the problem and had it fixed within a few minutes.

I will keep coming back when I need a place in Vancouver.

It is a very safe area to walk around and explore. You can walk south and/or west in the quieter West End residential area and end up at English Bay or Stanley Park. The terrain is a little hilly, but if you are a regular walker you will have no issues. You can walk from the cruise terminal/east convention center to the hotel. I do it yearly when I attend conventions, but it is a bit uphill. Depending on your luggage a taxi-Uber might be worth it. It is a fairly flat 6-walk from the hotel to the Canada Line Skytrain Vancouver City Centre station. The Canada Line will take you directly to the YVR Airport Terminal. (YVR is the name of the Vancouvers main airport) There are many good places to eat at all price levels on Robson either east or west toward Stanley Park. Make sure and go to Breka and have a pastry it is right near the hotel. The Wave coffee place on the nearby corner is also great.

Hi Nivia, We do have laundry service offered but with limited pick up and drop off dates. Pick-up will be MONDAYS -> DROP OFFS WEDNESDAY -> PICK UP ON FRIDAYS. We also recommend a company called "WE DO LAUNDRY" they do same day pick-up. The front desk will be able to assist you better upon arrival.
