My family I really enjoyed our stay at the Fox Hotel. We arrived late (9pm) and very hungry. Thankfully the Chilis restaurant attached to the hotel was open and serving families with kids. I would later discover on our trip that other hotel/restaurants combos would not allow kids after 9pm. We parked the car in the hotel underground free parking garage. From the under ground parking we took an elevator to the second floor and settled into our room. After dropping off our bags we headed for the restaurant. We were seated immediately and were then greeted by our waitress Kaitlin. Kaitlin was awesome! She took our drink and food order right away. During our meal she would stop by to offer drink refills. Kaitlin was very nice and very accommodating. She even informed me of their gluten free options. After dinner we went back to our room to get changed into our swim suits. The hot tub was great! It’s modelled after the cave and basin in Banff. Our room was small but cozy. It was very clean and had everything we needed. There was no a/c but we did open our window to bring I. A small breeze. There was also a tower fan which we used during our stay. I would definitely stay at the Fox Hotel again!

We stayed here 5 nights and were disappointed. Pros: We had the 2-bedroom suite on the 4th floor with 2 beds in the lower bedroom and 1 king in the upper loft area. Nice use of space! Both bathrooms were okay. The kitchenette and living area were nice (other than the fireplace not working). The hot pool below the lobby was nice and never too crowded in the late afternoons. Cons: As read in previous reviews, the way they make the beds is very frustrating. The small beds downstairs were made with sheets that were way too big for the bed and tucked in very tight and hard to pull out. The comforter only pulled up halfway and you could never get it up to your shoulder while sleeping. I tried fixing it, but with the sheets hanging over the beds 3 or more feet, it just made for an extremely uncomfortable sleep. The safe was just put on the floor of the closet and didn't work. We called to get it fixed and they left batteries thinking that would fix it. It didn't and the next day they walked in with another safe and put it on the floor until I explained that it should be attached to something so that someone can't just walk out with it. After 2 to 3 days, it was finally corrected. As mentioned above, the fireplace didn't work the whole time we were there. It was very frustrating when you specifically booked a room with a fireplace. There is a switch on the wall that did nothing. The first guy that came out, took the plate off the bottom of the fireplace and played around with some of the hidden knobs and gave us a bunch of things to do to get it to work. We tried the next day and it didn't work. Then someone else was out and couldn't fix it. I reported it multiple times to the front desk with nothing being done. Shades on the balcony wall that is all windows didn't work the last day with the sun waking us up early when we wanted to sleep in. The location is a 10 min walk from town and not bad. I think the issue with this hotel is they are not keeping up the maintenance. Otherwise, it would be a nice place to stay.

Fox hotel is very underwhelming, given the cost. The hotel rooms are tiny, bed is too soft, there is no ventilation in the room (our room has a tiny window that opens at the top but needs to be covered by a blind for privacy, no air con, no refrig or microwave. The elevator is slow and you wait and wait and wait to get on it. The wifi in the room is a trickle down system. It is so slow--forget about doing anything online. it's a 1/2 mile hike from town, which is ok, but not ideally located. I would not book it again at all.

Really great location of the hotel, 10-15 min walk to the city centre. Very nice and friendly staff, fast check-in and check-out. Parking is free and easy arranged in the underground parking lot. Rooms are nice, bed normal size, not King size bed, WiFi connection is good, TV, safe, iron and ironing board in the room. Use local soap, shampoo, conditioner, body soap brand my Rocky Mountain Co, which use natural ingredients. Room are not very soundproof. Room has a heating system, fan but no AC which they should have. But temperature was acceptable. Bathroom has storage place for your utilities or bathroom products. We were disappointed by the complimentary Continental breakfast, no broader food selection for breakfast only if you pay for it in the restaurant. Wasn't satisfied with the breakfast.

We booked through AAA, wanted a regular room with 2 beds. We were given an over priced 1 bedroom suite that you had to take 3 separate set of stairs to get to (the hotel was notified of ADA needs prior to booking). Then the room itself was 2 story. The furniture in the living room had stains all over it and the chair back was broken, so it was shoved into a corner, thinking no one would notice. The rug in the living room was NASTY say the least; I tried to remove it so my son ( young child) would not play on it, but upon lifting it up dead bugs and mounds of dirt were under it. The only ac was on the top floor with sleep quarters down stairs. When ask to move rooms we were told they didn’t t have any availability. However, my AAA rep could see they did. They change out room after much debate and lied about the cost of the second room saying there was only a $12. Difference between a 1 bed ste and a TINY 2 bed reg room. The room they moved us to has a toilet that does not stop running and leaks, so females ( or those whom sit) get their legs wet from toilet water while try to use the lue. Breakfast is a joke….. and disgusting 🤢. Don’t expect to eat good before your hike because it will not happen! Hard boiled eggs, fruit and waffles. You can order from a menu, but believe me…. It’s going to cost you. We left for the day… can back at 4, room is they way we left it, no room service, of course the front desk had an excuse… we will see if it happens here soon. I needed to do laundry, I called the hotel before coming back in today to see if I would be able to get change for the machines… yes, we can provide that… they said. Get here and I’m interrogated on how many loads do I really need to do… because they will only give enough change for 2 loads! The washers have a horrible moldy smell…. They are front load… so I assume the idiots here do not know how to care for them! Bottom line….. the pics look good but if you spending the $3-400. Per night, spend it somewhere else, cause this place is just smoke and mirrors. It is DISGUSTING, DIRTY AND THE STAFF IS INCOMPETENT AND RUDE!!!

I know that Hotels need to make money to survive, but do feel that the rate was excessive. $500 for a basic room with one double bed. The elevator was glacial. My biggest complaint was lack of air conditioning. Temperature in our room was 79. Not great for sleeping. I thought it was broken, but when I called the desk was told there was non. I was first informed that it’s never hot in Banff. Then I was told it was illegal to have AC in Banff National Park. Yup, illegal. Then I was told that I could upgrade to a superior room that did have AC for over $1000 per night. When I said that was not acceptable, it was suggested I open up the window (only one widow opens) and use the fan provided. So for $500 a night you get to sweat. Don’t plan to stay here again. On the upside front desk was very helpful. Chili’s restaurant on site excellent. Had a quick lunch and returned for happy hour.

This hotel is a scam, you pay an outrage and you have to sleep with a fan, this is inconceivable, I do not recommend it, to top off my stay my shower was clogged😡🤬🤬 they told me that if my air did not work the next day they would fix it, But what about the first night that I couldn't sleep, why do they charge me? if I pay for the room service that they demand why do I have to sleep with HEAT

Staff at Fox hotel very helpful, welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious and had everything you could possibly need. The breakfast was ample, plenty of choice and made it easier in the mornings to eat there and then go out for the day. It was slightly further out of town - 10 minute walk and my only criticism is that most of the rooms face inwards so you don't get the gorgeous views of the mountains which is a shame. Ask for a room with a view if you can. Otherwise highly recommend.

We used Banff as our base town for doing all the tourist attractions and sights over four days. We selected the Fox Resort as it suited our needs for three adults. Having a separate bedroom was great for not feeling over crowded. The location was a good 15 minutes walk from the Banff Downtown scene, so we were lucky that the weather was fine. The Good: Staff we’re nice and friendly. The daily room servicing was early and quick. Plenty off free undercover secure parking. Heated swimming pool was never crowded. The Poor: The one lift was slow at responding. The duvets on the bed were tucked in to tight at the bottom of the bed and prevented them from covering your upper half of your body. But over all the rooms were nice and met our needs. The buffet breakfast was sufficient.

The standard room was very small. Does not include a microwave or fridge. The bed was super lumpy and just a terrible bed considering the price we paid to stay here. We were not asked how our stay was or if we had any issues.
